1080P Driveclub Beta Screenshots!

Lot of games actually "look bad" in certain lighting conditions even though that's a tuakly the game trying to recreate a certain natural lighting condition.

Infamous SS and groin zeroes come to mind when on their overcast lighting cycle. Same with tlou and uncharted. Some areas are just less impressive looking because of the lighting conditions.

I was gonna complain about how blurry it looks now, but then I realized that the video is 720p.

I still think it looks very good. Some noticeable pop-in, though.

This made me laugh way more than it should have.

60fps upgrade?
Looks fantastic but not quite fantastic enough for 30fps imo.
Stick this back in the delay oven another few months/years.
*sigh*
OP put some pretty bad screens in though. There are much better one's.

I bet those fully volumetric smoke/fog/clouds are using/
wasting
a lot of processing power, they should have gone with the traditional methods and focused on a better IQ and filtering instead. Either way, let's see how it plays out in the end.

The only reason the game looks as good as it does is because of volumetric elements like that. Besides, I'd bet they take up less resources than you think.

I honestly think it still looks really good, but I still feel that the developers priorities were in the wrong place when they made the call to cap the framerate to 30.

Good FOV, lightning, great use of object motion blur on scenery that is flying past the user, presence of fuckton 3D trees that make the world seem incredibly "dense", and rocksolid framerate... It looks like PS4 will [after amazing Infamous] get another game that looks to be running at "30 bullshots per second". :D

The replies in this thread are amazing. Do people actually not understand the concept of motion blur? It's gonna make the game feel smoother than it really is when you play it (the Motorstorm games also did this to great effect), but you of course get screenshots with smeared out detail.

The motion blur in DriveClub is very well done, just like in real life. If you look out of the passenger side windows you can see its effect. I was driving home from the shops and when I looked out from the side windows everything on the ground was blurring due to the motion, but objects viewed from the front windows wasn't.

Woah at this websites cover image.

AllGamesBeta is the shit. Just about every day you can expect some cool art. Also they always have the same news as neogaf so if I'm a day or two behind checking gaf, I hit up AGB and all the news is here in mostly video or picture form.

I agree, real life looks pretty shit at midday, ask any photographer.

Judging by some of the posts in this thread, there's a lot of hate and a lot of love, this game is going to be a HUGE seller...can't wait!

At least it's getting traffic whichever way people are leaning. I think photomode is the genius addition though, if it turns out as good as it looks word-of-mouth and Facebook, Twitter etc. is going to move consoles.

I don't think they look less impressive than other games in sunny conditions, just in comparison to how good they look in overcast/night conditions. Sunny conditions seem fairly easy to get to look good.

Those look really nice, but I can't help wondering they're somehow bullshots

Hopefully I'm wrong!
They're not, they're compressed images from the PS4 itself, unless meta data was modified but given the accompanying video was made using Share Factory pretty clear to me that it is not bullshots.

Have we seen light casings crack before? Not noticed it in any footage before.

If this turns out to be really good I might have to look at getting a PS4!, but I still have a feeling this is going to be as boring as sin, just like the last few GT's.
