You don't like popcorn?
I'm trying to find out if people here are just trolling everything now. This is a popcorn bucket. It's cool. But why are they acting like it's the worse idea ever?
pottery barn in general is expensive and all their crossover stuff is even nuttier in priceAt least it's only $40.
Sony launched Playstation branded living room furniture way back at Pottery Barn for $2,000.
A game holder shelf that held 8 game cases was $70.
I like it and would even use it to store some stuff in (never would use for popcorn) but $40? Is it made of real bamboo for that price? Yeah right there's about $0.36 cents in cost for that thing. Wake me up when clearance at $15 or less
If you can't fuck it like the DK barrel I don't want it
It's just a cinema doing a Way of the Samurai run (inspired by GoY) using these popcorn buckets at screenings and selling them separately too. Sold out now anyway so good for AlamoDrafthouse I guess. That looks pretty cool but... Why?
It's plastic though, not worth that price.
I'm thinking loose changeAt least half of the people who buy this will never actually put popcorn in it
LolWild how some are making fun of this, I actually think it's pretty neat as they could've done absolutely nothing. Of course it's a collab with Alamo, they do a lot of neat stuff, especially with merch. Cool to see them do something rather than nothing.
Hey man, as someone that's worked in marketing someone clearly was like, "Hey, Ghost of Yotei is inspired by old samurai films, can we do a collab with a theater?" and they ran with it which I respect. I'm sure they wanted to do some special merchandise for it, and I'm not sure what else they'd do for a movie & movie theater collab.
Important context:

That being said, will I partake? No, lmao.
It a big popcorn bucket. It's a lot to eat in one sitting. No reason to get a second if you didn't finish the first.Playing through got (act 2) right now. Feeling a bit like a chore. The combat is not clicking. Pretty though.
Not sure I'll pick up the sequel
Not like Nintendo then? or has their first party devolved also (and seeing as their merch could be bought decades ago, exactly how long have they been devolving, especially Mario?)How badly Sony's 1st party has devolved. Merch and rehashes.
Somehow the word "inspired" triggered the shit out of me in that Alamo post. It's a fucking marketing campaign. Nothing was "inspired" by anything.Hey man, as someone that has seen decades worth of silly marketing tactics. We all know why this is here. It's a jump the shark marketing scheme. Ie articles written about it, mentions, etc. I get it. But can't we have some fun with it?
We all know it really is:
Way of the Samurai: Film Series Inspired by Sony Marketing Department at Alamo Drafthouse
Ostensibly. It's funny… I kinda want one. Not for popcorn, but I just think a wood bucket is neat. You could put all kinds of stuff in there!
Like chicken.
Is… is that supposed to be for popcorn?
I love movie theater popcorn. It a big popcorn bucket. It's a lot to eat in one sitting. No reason to get a second if you didn't finish the first.
Don't think will be the epic event Sony wants it to be.You don't like popcorn?
It's a cinema venue selling them for their samurai movie run. This is so sillyit's not even a movie ffs
Exactly, lmao.Hey man, as someone that has seen decades worth of silly marketing tactics. We all know why this is here. It's a jump the shark marketing scheme. Ie articles written about it, mentions, etc. I get it. But can't we have some fun with it?

Agreed. It always was going to be, between collectors, low run rate, and low cost it was inevitable. Image a few will show up on eBay and be sold for 5x original cost. But Sony got what they wanted I would think we will see a few articles about them over the next couples days or so.Exactly, lmao.
What's wild is that.... people bought it and it sold out. So, I guess they knew it'd work, lol.
As an 80's kid I love dumb merchandise. But I'll never understand the popcorn bucket craze.
If people can't troll the Ghost of Yotei popcorn bucket, what is safe to troll?I'm trying to find out if people here are just trolling everything now. This is a popcorn bucket. It's cool. But why are they acting like it's the worse idea ever?
Ofc you wouldIt looks kinda cool to me. Would put that on my shelf.
I mean ok. Its pretty nice for a popcorn bucket......but, why?
I like shit like that because I collect them. But fucking $40 for what? Fake wood and a logo? Fuck off
