I had to remove a slice of bread that was forced into the slot of my first PS3, I kid you not![]()
well okay then. sorry to go OT, but what CPU are you running at what clock speed. I'm just getting started in OC PC parts. Have a order in for a 212 evo which I figured would be enough.
It's a good thing you did, or your PS3 might have been....toast
This plus the NDA lift at the end of the month should reveal the dGPU
Man I wish ps4 was bigger so it could upclock. I don't know why they skipped to slim version for launch in a ten year lifespan. They could have easily gone 2.0 ghz cpu and over 2 TF gpu which would have enough grunt to make their laucnh titles 1080p 60 fps. Oh well.

Sarcasm? I have no idea on here anymore....There are some massively delusional posters which kind of fog up my sarcasm meter.
You'd be right if your overclocking 1 chip, however Microsoft have to do this for potentially 100million chips.
The way processors are made is that they are tested at the required speed, if they are aiming at 1.75 ghz, it would be wise testing at 1.75 ghz, as there is no need to throw away a chip which is capable of 1.8ghz just because standard Jaguar chips are designed to run at 2.0 ghz.
nice, I now know not to get into a PC war with you. Lets go back to battleling how much better XB1 is then PS4h100i. I did something similar like you with my prior 2500k build. 2 fans in push pull on the same cooling solution. I have a 3930k now and Intel doesn't include even a stock heat sink seeing as this is an enthusiast level CPU which set me back over 550USD at the time.
But if you don't want to get into the whole dedicated water cooling business then closed loop via a nice Kraken or Corsair solution is nice. There is a newer h110 now and a newer Kraken out but the options are there and you can even do 4 fan push/pull if you have the case space. Any more info, send a PM. I spent over 2k on this build included custom dust covers for my Corsair 500R. I went full on nerd with this build. You can try and spend more on good fans like the Noctuas but those are around 20 a piece. I didn't want to spend that much but here I went and for this custom air filter set for 55 ><
On topic, this is good Xbone news.
Gotta cover my ass

nope
Here ya go!

I didn't think so. There is a lot of people who don't know current gen hardware is already capable of 1080p 60fps and there were launch games displaying this 7 years ago. They're design choices. 0.2tflop increase won't change anything.
...I read this as a "THANKS OBAMA" advertorial .gif

Not sure if sarcasm or stealth troll post. Developers could easily do 60 FPS and 1080p right now if they wanted. It's a choice ...
edit: Oh wow guess it's not sarcasm![]()

If they haven't revealed the CPU clock yet, isn't possible they could have already gave it an upclock?I wonder what the chances are now for a PS4 upclock. They haven't revealed the CPU clock yet. The GPU is reasonably powerful but the CPU is a tad underwhelming. Would like to see it get any boost it can.
that's a 3% improvement at most in CPU intensive tasks, no big deal, considering most games would eat alive the GPU and compute is going to be the next big thing, the slight CPU bump means nothing but more PR stuff to add in desperate times, "hey, our CPU is faster !"... oh well, certainly I need confirmation these lates changes won't affect the reliability of the hardware, I'll have to wait and see bofore buying the ever-changing Xbox One, maybe if they delay it until late December it will feature full backwards compatibility and SSD's.
I think that poster meant 1080@60fps without major sacrifices and balances between performance and gfx. Ya know?
Edit: or in other words: 'first-world problems' of game development for consoles.
What keeps them from producing them speced to 2.0ghz and the 1.6 is a down clock from the start?
Technically 1.75 would still be below spec in that case too. Just a simple software tweak.
nope
its 10% and it already has a ssd ....

These things are over my head but I was just wondering.
Sony did better. They just used a better GPU baseline to start with.

Honestly I'll go for the cooler running system over just a small 10 to 15% overclock increase with tons of extra heat.Oh I know the ps4 is still more powerful. I just feel it would be great if it had that extra push. Especially when mid tier Gpus are 2+TF. Watch dogs seems to be getting downgraded same with battlefield. Assasin's Creed looks like last gen game and doesn't even hit 1080p 60f from what I read. To have compromises this early on kinda sucks but gotta get used to it. Infamous second son looks great but I'm sure that's 30 fps.
X1 has SSD? Joking right?

nope. it has a hdd AND 8 gigs of nand flash memory.
Thank you kind sir
Isn't it kind of troublesome when orignal 360 game is causing max CPU bottle necking already at the launch?
And your detailed information on the efficiency of the cooling systems in each console is from where? Not sure why you think it's sarcasm. If devs hit 60 fps with drive club and KZ, for example, they would have to compromise the graphics. I'd rather not have that happen. Devs are struggling hitting those goals as it is.
If they overclock the ps4 as it is, it will heat more and it's possible that it could still last a long time but Sony would probably not take that risk. As for Microsoft, they have a fucking giant console with the brick outside, it would be very stupid for them not to increase the clock speed. I think they are still conservative considering their ventilation.
This news sort of makes me doubt CBOAT regarding yield issues.
Seems unlikely that you'd upclock GPU and CPU and at the same time have yield issues.
But who knows, if they come out and have supply problems, it would seem like they're sacrificing supply for marginal performance boosts.

Second Son is running at 60fps, it's been verified by Sucker Punch.

OK, that's not an SSD my friend.
Oh yes I know that. I was more saying couldn't they have upclocked it sometime during development without anybody knowing since, you know, they haven't released that information?Sony doesn't have to act reactionary to MS at all, they already built the better more powerful system.
Sony needs to do nothing, just release the damn system already![]()
