I cant tell if its a misspelling of amazing or amazon or a weird child of both.
 
Signups closed. I even have one waiting in the wings if someone doesn't come through in a reasonable amount of time.

Also, I'd like to make the point that I get the whole wariness with trusting Junior Members thing, but as long as the junior isn't the one collecting the money to start the Prime account, I don't see the trust issue there. If anything the junior is trusting the other person not to rip them off of their PayPal money.

Am I missing something here?

no, just something someone brought up and I decided to make a point of it. I just went with the 1st 4 people who PMed me and they all happened to be members. Ill edit the OP.

Yeah If you front the money to purchase your own account and for example you give one family member a slot, you can ask other gaffers for 16 bucks a piece since you and your family member would be 32, this way the offer gaffers at 16 a piece would cover the rest of the fund. BUT please keep in mind that other gaffers might not want to do this if your account is like 3 months old or whatever. I would prefer (for myself) to join one that is just starting or one that was bought this month to get my maximum worth. thats just me though.

Very true, I just use the google search thing I did here, and put "amazong" to find this thread fast.

Alright, my Amazon Prime trial is about to run out in 6 days so I really want to join a group.

As for PayPal, can I just transfer $20 from my bank account to PayPal so that I could transfer from PayPal to the host of the Amazon Prime deal? Sorry for the crazy question, I haven't used PayPal in a long while.

Add something to your cart and proceed to checkout. They should offer you a Prime membership trial. I'm using that and cancelling right after New Year's. PEACE.

Already used mine up, and I order from Amazon frequently enough to justify a subscription. The discount here would be icing on the cake.
 
If you add $100 in textbooks, right before the final confirmation of paying it will offer you "free 2-day shipping with prime" - click on that and they give you 3 months for free.

I just created a new dummy account and than shared that 3 months free with my primary account.

Hmm I did that and added $150 of this 1 textbook, and I chose prime as shipping option but it only offered it to me for 1 month. How did you get 3 months?
 
Is there a group looking for a member? I would be willing to host also, if GAFers would Paypal me the money.

GAF member since forever, or 2004 for this iteration of GAF. So no worries about being screwed.
 
Bumping this thread to see if anyone(s) want to share an Amazon Prime membership with me?

I just realized that for my past few orders on Amazon, I have been reluctantly, but consistently, choosing to pay for Two-Day shipping. It started with the 3DS system and then games for it, which I tend to be very anxious to get my hands on ASAP, and my reasoning has been following this pattern:

The difference in order processing and delivery time between Free Shipping and Standard Shipping can be substantial, and if I want these items ASAP, then paying ~$6 (with added tax) really isn't a big deal for Standard Shipping.

Then I think: Well, it's only $2 more for Two-Day Shipping, and that's a lot faster than standard shipping! It feels like the price/speed (or value) of Two-Day Shipping is higher than Standard Shipping. So I've been paying $8+ on these order to bump up the shipping speed.

And I have just did the same again for my Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D order... then I thought: Wait a second, why don't I join Prime, pay $80 and have free Two-Day shipping on every order? If I make more than 10 orders in the next year, it would have been worth it.

But I don't really order that often from Amazon, and it would be ideal if I could split the cost with a few other GAFers.

So, tl;dr I want to join Amazon Prime ASAP. Anyone want to pool with me? Let's do this!
 
My free prime membership is due up to end any time now. I'm actually surprised it isn't up now, which means I'd have to guess july is when it ends. I'd be up for this if you can add somebody mid-way.. but now I'm still good to go.

Is there an easy way to check the expiration date? I've never bothered to look.

Edit: Yeah, just checked... I'm up through July 13 I guess. I'll be here next month, guys :P
 
Just signed up for a Prime account yesterday night and remembered about this thread today. If anybody happens to be looking for a Prime subscription to pool along in I'd be more than happy to host, albeit the subscription is a day old. I'll keep this offer open for 4 more days seeing as that is the case, I don't want to devalue it any further for potential new subscribers.

I'm available through PM and e-mail (listed on my web page).
