Yes, it's just an excuse to make more lists, but which platform comes out on top? I'd say GBA of course! :)

...as far as accuracy, I'd say the GC/GBA lists are 100%. I feel pretty good about the Xbox list (though I'd like to know the name of the MGS sports team that was shut down/soldoff to UbiSoft). The PS2 list is a nightmare though, I suspect a lot of those 'SCEJ' were actually made by tiny external teams. Let me know if anything's wrong or missing.

Fuzion Frenzy and Kung Fu Chaos were just published by MS.
Fuzion Frenzy (Blitz Games)
Kung Fu Chaos (Just Add Monsters)

First Party
-------------------------------------------
PS2 > GC > Xbox > GBA (IMO)

Also, I think our 2nd party designation is all but gone as we've mentioned in a number of threads.

So, you can add alot to both lists if it wasn't strictly a publishing deal.

Sony OWNS the Dark Cloud, Ratchet & Clank, SOCOM, ATV:OF, Sly Cooper IP's, even though they don't own the developers themselves.

Microsoft's first party has been the best this gen IMO, they might not have quantity but the quality is there (most of the time).

Xbox Live alone puts MS' titles over Nintendo's and Sony's.

I should not, this list is only for for 1st party development. That's why stuff like Golden Sun or Sly cooper is missing. Fuck 2nd parties, that's just PR anyway. If it's not from Nintendo/SCE/MGS, it's not on the list.

You've got to be joking. Halo, MechAssault, and ??? I don't doubt that a number of the other games were really good, but hardly front line stuff.

yeah I agree. It's PS2 > GC > Xbox.

These games alone (FOR ME!) put Microsoft's list over Nintendo and Sony's.
Microsoft's first party has been my favorite this gen, but it varies by taste so I'm not going to argue.

Lionhead isn't a 1st party house. Fable was horribly average, btw.

Does everyone understand what 1st party development means? It means the game had to be made by SCE, Nintendo or Microsoft to qualify. Fable, Rachet & Clank or Mario Party don't.

Sony's list is defiantly the best no doubt. Microsoft is all quality. Can't comment on the Nintendo list.

All quality? Not all. A lot of it isn't particularly AAA. I'd say they are on par with Nintendo at the very least. Sony does have a long list but I'd say not all are great. Wait, I'd say all three are on par although MS has the BIGGEST 1st party hit. Sony's list is big but its not their 1st party titles that define their console.

Mother 3 (Nintendo EAD)

Is there a release date for this yet (even a rumored one)? Also, any chance that Mother 1&2 will ever see a US release?

As for which console has the best first party support, it's got to be GBA. Nintendo hasn't missed a beat on their portable.

Halo 2 hasn't outsold GT3.

Would Zener Works, Matrix, & MediaVision be Sony 1st parties? If so, there's Okage: Shadow King, Dual Hearts, & the 3 Wild ARMs games.

Not quite sure how SOE counts, but since EQoA is listed, you should add EverQuest: Online Adventures: Frontiers.

yeah for you allright.

Eternal Darkness was made after Nintendo paid 20M$ for SK. So, it is no les s a 1st party than Metroid Prime.

Jarrod, I though Chain Dive was made by a 3rd party for SCEJ. Don't know name of team.

Also, add Champions of Norrath and Chapmpions: Return to Arms to the SCE list (SOE)

And what about worldwide sales?
Okay now that I looked at the worldwide numbers your right about Halo. But Halo 2 is approaching GT3 sales after four months. GT3 sold 6.6 million worldwide at last count, while Halo 2 is at 6.4. And before you guys say "sold through" so are any GT3 numbers you could provide. And remember that Xbox is in only two of the three markets

GT3 has sold 3.5m+ in the US, and that's it 2nd biggest territory behind Europe. So if you take into account that its sold more in Europe than in the US that's 7m+ right there, not taking into account the 1+m its sold in Japan. GT3 is the best selling console game this gen, bigger than the GTA's and bigger than the HALO's.

But, you're willing to go with the 6.4M shipped number that Microsoft uses, right?

NPD sales # US Sales # North American sales # Worldwide Sales.
No, no, i'm using YOUR numbers

His list goes by tracked SKU #s. You'll notice how people are always commenting on Halo 2 and Halo 2 CE not being grouped together.

Okay fine didn't notice that. It still means that Halo 2 is at 4.4 million in the US, while GT3 is almost 3.7 million (unless I missed another Gran turismo listing) That is after three months for one title and four years for the other. Which is the bigger title?
