1UP Feature -- Chaos Theory Versus Mode

The most important change comes with how the game selects players to go up against each other. Instead of the randomized setup in Pandora that could potentially put a first time player against three competitors with hundreds of hours under their belts, Chaos Theory will pit players against each other based on how long they've spent with the game. "Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow was a deep and complex game," says Mametz. "That means that you had a lot of things to learn before facing other players. One of the big difficulties of Pandora Tomorrow was that during your first sessions, you could fight players who were much better than you...in Chaos Theory, beginners with a similar 'played time' will be placed together when they search for a session."

Nice read.
I hope Ubi Soft does better supporting this game after release this time and that CT has gotten a bit more testing in the QA department than PT did. I loved PT multiplayer until it got broken by glitches.

i didn't think it was possible for me to get even more excited for this game, but it happened.

ubisoft's online teams are so incredibly talented.. i only hope that they actually get around to bug testing this one.

To think that just a month and a half or so away I'll be snapping necks and whispering sweet nothings into ears. Sorry Halo, you'll have to ride bitch to Chaos Theory.

Just you wait guys when you'll notice a new little option that is so fu**ing nice in the VS mode. You're going to be thankfull :P

And hopefully they release patches for any bugs that do come up within a reasonable time. I laughed my ass off when I heard that they just recently did the patch for PT. I mean WTF? Same applied with Black Arrow.

I like the sounds of matching up equally experienced players. I tried playing PT for the first time about a month ago and had no idea what I was doing; I ended up running around a bit, being jumped on and put to sleep, then being jumped on again as soon as I awoke, having some guy begging me to make him invisible, and a bunch of guys playing some stupid made-up game-type they called Gladiator. I've only tried playing it once since then and I still have no idea what's happening.

if you mean, by the quality of their online games, then yes, ubi rocks. however, the online experience has always been kindy weak, what with their usually shit net code

Sounds totally lazy, compared to the intricate matching techniques used in Halo 2....

With only four people playing in each round, plus the fact that it's not going to be anywhere near as popular as Halo 2, it really wouldn't work well.

Play time is a great way to go buy. In a FPS like Halo, you could kick ass right off the bat, it plays like any other FPS. With something like this you need time to learn the game mechanics.

Edit: oh shit double post~
