If the Marlins' clubhouse were a baseball, it might be coming apart at the seams.

A.J. Burnett was sent home this week by the team after derogatory remarks he made about the franchise. But of even greater concern might be the attitude of budding star Miguel Cabrera.

The Palm Beach Post reported that Cabrera's teammates and some Marlins officials are concerned about the 22-year-old slugger's attitude and work ethic.

Cabrera was not in the lineup Monday, serving a one-game suspension for showing up late to a game in Atlanta on Sunday. He also wasn't in the lineup last Thursday in New York after not reporting on time to a medical treatment after fouling a ball off his knee the night before, the newspaper reported.

Also, Cabrera stopped shagging fly balls in July and August, instead sitting in the dugout with friends from his native Venezuela, the Post reported
, and only resumed the pregame activity after a talk with Hall of Famer Tony Perez, a special assistant for the team.

"Sometimes fame comes too quickly," Perez told the Post. "He has the ability; everybody knows that. He's got a great future ahead of him, but that's up to him."

Cabrera's attitude has cost him respect in the clubhouse, some Marlins players told the Post. Marlins veteran Jeff Conine told the newspaper that a player should have a heart to heart with Cabrera.

Cabrera isn't in the mood for a lecture, however.

"[Forget] the veterans," he told the Post. "They haven't told me anything and they better not come tell me anything, either.

"I don't want to hear anything else. I want to play baseball, give what I have to give on the field of play, and win. That's all I want. ...

"Everyone here is a grown man," he told the newspaper. "Everyone knows what he's doing. And I'm not going to go crazy worrying about these things."

What a fucking douchebag.

:lol :lol :lol Cleveland blows a lead off double. doesn't even get him to third :lol
Welcome to the last month of White Sox baseball, Cleveland.

Yes. It's always easier to chase but when you get close and realize there is pressure on you too, it's funny to see how various teams can handle it while others can't.

For all of the horrible play from the Red Sox tonight, it's good to know they'll still be tied for the Wild Card lead. Looks like the Indians may be out of gas.

They just lost the division. Cleveland is going to run the table the rest of the year.

3 run homer for rowand. Magic number is down to 2.

We could clinch tomorrow if the Indians continue to look stupid at HOME against the Devil Rays :lol

Hopefully not. The Sux need to miss the playoffs entirely.

...

the fuck?

I'm afraid to say it... but Lidge is St. Louis' daddy. Something like 4-75 and 26-27 strikeouts against him the last two seasons.

All I can say is this weekend is going to be fucking amazing.
My friends and I are going to try and procure tickets to at least one of the yankees games here in Boston this weekend.

If I get in it will make my whole fucking week

YANKS AL EAST CHAMPS YA HEARD?

I bought 4 tix, selling 2 to the Astros game 4 of the NLDS. :P

Will buy tix for every game of the following series.

Cleveland is out of steam. The Sox bats haven't been too great lately, but I predict a loss by tomorrow to even it out in the AL East for the Yankees/Sox series this weekend. I predict 2 of 3 go to the Sox, with the Yanks getting the AL Wild Card. No shame in that, boys. Wells is going to have no problem with the Yankees. Come on, he's 7-1 at home! Wang has been inconsistent up until now, and a big game like this for him is going to completely throw him off base. The Wakefield-Johnson match up will be THE GAME of this series to watch. Two pitchers that have both had amazing seasons. Johnson really coming back to help his team, and Wakefield pitching some excellent games (including two complete games!) in the stretch. Man, I can't wait for this weekend! :D (Seriously, even if it doesn't happen that way, I'd be cool as long as both teams get into the playoffs. Yankees/Red Sox baseball is as good as it gets, especially with the quality these teams have this season).

You could always sell the tickets and use the profits to throw a kickass baseball watching party at your place!
