Astros just want to celebrate on a Saturday night so they can have a rest on sunday. :)

That involves the Phillies losing, which isn't happening...so...I guess we'll be seeing the Astros up here at Citizens BanK Park, or at home.

I dont know, we do have Chase Utley...and the Cubs are playing hard. We shall see...

Tonights loss had more to do with Lidge not having his best stuff rather than the cubs amazing hitting. They had one run giftwrapped to them because of a botched call at first and then an error ont he subsquent play.

But it wouldn't be an Astros season without drama.

Well I never said the Cubs were hitting amazing, I said they were playing hard.

Drama? Please..If only you knew what it was like to be a Phillies fan...

The stros had all 3 runs gift wrapped for them tonight due to that stupid ballpark. 3 runs off of 2 pop up home runs.

Chi Sox fans:

On a team based on pitching and defense, the White Sox will carry 11 hurlers in order that Guillen won't be left short-handed in any situation. The pitching locks for the roster are starters Jose Contreras, Mark Buehrle and Freddy Garcia, who will pitch the first three games of the series, and Jon Garland.

The bullpen will feature Hermanson, Damaso Marte, Neal Cotts, Cliff Politte, Bobby Jenks and Luis Vizcaino, leaving the final spot for Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez or rookie Brandon McCarthy.

WTF? Drop Vizcaino and bring both Duque and McCarthy. If either of them don't make it I will be seriously PISSED.
Vizcaino is worthless, while Duque is historically lights out in the postseason and McCarthy has just been filthy lately.

Expect to hear from my lawyers if the Stros choke, your words are harmful to my health.

Wow, what an amazing game tonight. Wells had me scared in that first inning, but he settled down and showed all the critics (and there were many) who didn't believe he had what it took to win this game. Also, our bull pen looked fantastic tonight! Bradford and Meyers did their job, and Timlin - man, some SI writer was joking about how Timlin isn't the closer we needed. After tonight, I think he's eating some crow! Fanning three in a row?! Fantastic!

GO SOX! TAKE 2 MORE, TAKE IT ALL!

Like the Astros haven't been fucked over before due to the Crawford Boxes...

i hate them, by the way.

The same crawford boxes Mrbob is complaining about is what allowed the Cubs to score move the runner to 3rd in the 9th which scored the winning run.

i seriously cant believe this is still the regular season. i feel sick.

Seriously a fucking brawl almost errupted in my dining hall yesterday :lol
Tensions are high and police have upped security over here by the Fenway Area.
If the Sox win Sunday expect a riot to ensue.

But we got ourselves another Johnson-Wakefield epic.
Can't wait.

A big part of it is the Yanks need to stop being pussies when playing the fucking Sox. It's like clockwork: Damon gets on base, steals second, then damon gets in for a run, then the whole thing goes down the shitter -- errors right and left and the yankee D breaks down. They just need to stop getting intimidated by this Boston crowd.

The Milwaukee Brewers just guaranteed a .500 season, and they still have 2 games to go.

This may not seem like a big deal to some, but for Brewer fans like myself this is pretty big. The team hasn't had a winning season in 12 years, and the optimism surrounding the team's future just feels great! :)

Haha shit I remember back in either 98? or 97, the game that clinched it for the Yanks for AL EAST champs was against the Brewers. Quite the high scoring game that night -- I think we scored 18 or 17 (might even have broken 20) and we had all our farm guys in and we were just constantly shitting on them :)

And that was my fondest memory of the Brewers.

the yanks are like little puppies when the play the red sox it fucking disgusts me. me need to sign albert belle or someone to throw in the bullpen whose sole purpose is to plunk david ortiz. we need a david ortiz plunker.

oh and i had a dream that the red sox put up 6 against randy johnson in the first. im frekaing out over here.

"People was killing me because I don't respect the integrity of the game," Guillen said. "They only worry about it because it's New York and Boston. If it was someone else, they wouldn't even care about it.

"I did what every manager in the pennant race did. After you clinch, whether it's the division or whatever, you always play the bench guys.

"But Ozzie did it and he's stupid, ignorant and doesn't know about baseball," Guillen added. "Bobby Cox did it and he's a genius."

"One of my Double-A players wins the game for us," added a sarcastic Guillen, again referring to criticism over his lineup.

:lol :lol

and today's line-up:

1. T. Perez, RF
2. T. Iguchi, 2B
3. R. Gload, LF
4. P. Konerko, 1B
5. C. Everett, DH
6. A. Rowand, CF
7. A. Pierzynski, C
8. G. Blum, SS
9. P. Ozuna, 3B

Looks like the type of day it is really lends itself more to a fastball pitcher than the knuckleballer. Wakefield looks awful now.

Yep :/

WTF eminem, aren't you in Chicago? How are you watching the game?

I thought ChiTown and Houston both get the shaft and only get to watch the Cubs/Astros game?

Man if only they had one more out last inning. Can you imagine Ortiz getting up there with Johnson going nuts and the bases loaded haha?

I'm in Chicago during the summer, but now I'm at school(Purdue) so I get shitty Indy programming. So we get Sawx/Yanks on Fox. I have to watch the Sox game on mlb.tv :(

:lol

Judging by what looks like a moonshot double Papi just hit, they'd have ERUPTED.

You'd hear chants of "WHO'S YOUR PAPI?" All the way to New York.

I love how the home plate ump is trying his level best to give the Bosox an edge--I can see why Johnson's so pissed. Last night was even more blatant: "Hello, Wang. You're a sinkerball pitcher that lives off the low strike. Instead, we shall take it away completely, making you elevate and throwing you off completely!" See: Year high in walks, sac fly.

I just wish they wouldn't be so blatant. :lol

we need red sox to lose today and tomorrow, then cleveland to lose today and win tomorrow and forcing a 1 game playoff in cleveland.

i want those fucks as far away from the post season as possible. although the indians are definitely able to go deep in the playoffs themselves.
