lol, field day for the back page headline writers. I'm looking forward to next week's episode of the reality show on YES where 4 people are going to every Yankee game this year. How are they going to spin losing 3 of 4 to the DRays to fall into last? :lol

Cub matinee on WGN today. Will Cub fans boo their team in early May? Once unthinkable, now a distinct possibility. I'll be watching!

I'll continue to watch, it's just the embarassment that it costs so damn much for this piece of shit they field every night that's making it rough. There's just no excuse for this awful level of baseball the Yankees are playing at.

You have to wonder how many of these shits are giving up at the plate knowing that the rookie starters or the shit bullpen is just going to blow the game any way. You'd figure the embarassment of being so atrocious would be enough motivation to snap out of the funk, but it looks like nobody gives a shit. How can you not stand there on the diamond, see Torre call for Quantrill and Gordon and think "Oh shit, well, I guess we're really done now, may as well relax." It's fucking disgusting. Ths shit cannings need to start now, because the fire needs to be lit.
There might not be excuses, but there are certainly reasons. When your owner is insane and puts together a fantasy team instead of an actual TEAM, you should know you're going to have problems. Also, when you play under the most absurd spotlight in all of sports, good players magically become average or poor players. Some people just don't handle the stress. Look at the marquee free agents the past few years that DIDN'T sign with the Stanks.

Seriously, if you want to fire someone, fire Steinbrenner. I don't see how you can defend that idiot. OMG, HE WANTS TO WIN AND WILL SPEND FOR IT!!! So he's like most owners in that he wants to field a winning team, but he's basically a rubber check stamp too? Great! Just keep his crazy ass out of the baseball operations side of things.

I wish I could fire Steinbrenner.

With any luck, his horse will win the Kentcuky Derby this weekend causing him to have a massive heart attack. (edited for more fatal ailment)

Anyone remember which prospects the Yanks gave up for Weaver? - nevermind, it was Ted Lilly.

We have one fucking hit through three innings against Lidle. Our offense sucks ass.

There is only one hope left for the season. Joe Torre gets fired by THE BOSS, and then the Cubs fire Dusty and hire Torre on as manager! Our season will turnaround I know it!

you'll never find me cheering for that asshat. i've been saying it for yeras that we need a farm system, i feel like collin powell in a room full of neo-conservatives.

Hawkins is like an amusement park ride - poor Cubs fans who have to clench their sphincter every time he comes in with a 1 run lead. :lol

Bases loaded, 1 out... let's see what LaTroy does.

EDIT: OMG OMG OMG :lol :lol

I can not even describe what just happened. :lol Let's just say, Phillies lead. Poor LaTroy, I've never heard thousands of people groan in disgust quite so loudly before.

OH MY FUCKING GOD.

WE ARE THE ANTI WHITE SOX THIS YEAR. FIND WAYS TO LOSE.

Latroy just digs into that big ass hat and finds new ways to lose!!!

For the record, the Cub fans did indeed boo Hawkins when he left the mound. It looks like it's going to be a long season in Wrigleyville.

Dodgers Win! :D

13-6 with a 10 run first inning. Hopefully this breaks us out of our offensive rut but I wouldn't be surprised if this output equals our quota for the series.

So this is what it's like to be a fan of a sucky team. Now I know what everyone else has gone through. Oh well it's the K's...Let's go Yanks!

Good win for the White Sox, but I'm pretty happy really with how the Jays hung with them. Even when losing lately the Jays have been impressing me. :)

Still would have liked to get the W. ;P

good to see there are dodger fans in here. Been busy with life although i did listen to them on radio it was a great game. I agree we need more offense hopefully if the rumors are true, depo still has 20 mill to pick up a 3rd basemen by trade deadline

Are the Astros ever gonna show up to play on the road? Another sound beating by the Braves. Out bats are starting to come alive.

:lol :lol :lol :lol @ Hawkins

spectacular.

Chi Sox win their 6th in a row. Cubs have their own 6 game streak. just in the opposite direction :lol

El Duque with another quality start. so our starters lead the league in IP, quality starts, wins, ERA, BAA, WHIP, etc.
Chicago's starters are 17-3 with a 2.79 ERA. nuts.
Also, Hermanson has opened the year with 13.2 scoreless innings.

also, about Konerko busting out of his slump and AJ finally hitting in canada...

"I'm ready to break into the Lou Gehrig speech right now," said Konerko, who felt lucky after a week of bad luck.

Pierzynski entered his at-bat 2-for-29 in his career in Toronto. He fell behind 0-2 against closer Miguel Batista before singling to left with two outs to give Chicago a 5-3 lead.

"He was like 1-for-Canada in his career." Chicago manager Ozzie Guillen said.

:lol :lol

jays fans, you guys have Garland and Buehrle up next. errr, good luck.

don't errr me. Garland is ready to fall and Buerhle's pitching against Chacin. I see two big wins.

Tonight was fun. A 106 year old WW1 vet threw out the opening pitch! The Dome was open for the first game......umm we had lots of delays! The game was long.

you know, a lot of my cubs fans seriously want that to happen. have wood go 2 innings at the most. let him close, and see if he can stay healthy.

i really don't think it's that bad of a plan.

yeah, it'd even help me out in fantasy more than he ever would starting too.

Aww yeah bitches. Look at my Bravos, sportin the 18-11 record and in sole posession of 1st place(never mind if by 1/2 a game...). WORD.

Hope Smoltzie's back is ok, tho. Gonna need that guy to march on a road of broken bones all the way to the World Series and another title. He'll be ready to go by October, tho.

THAT'S RIGHT KUROYUME, THE ROAD TO THE WS IN THE NL EAST STILL GOES THRU ATLANTA! HOW YA LIKE YER 4TH PLACE METS? DID I CALL THAT SHIT OR WHAT?

The great thing about it is, he can't turn around and cheer for the Yankees like a little bitch. The Yanks are worse than the Mets! It's a first, for sure.

Comedy of errors indeed. That game last night was like something that would happen to the Indians in the first half of Major League before they start playing well. You really couldn't make that up, same with the Cubs. I love baseball.

The brewers will bounce back against the mets. Not today beacuse pedro is pitching but tomorrow they will.

And as for all the cubs fans out there. I point in your general direction and laugh at you. You damn flat landers get what you deserve. The bulls are out of the play offs, the cubs will never make it, and the chi sox are bound to blow it like they do every year. I have no false hopes for the brewers, but at least i know the brewers will beat the Loveable losers.

I just love seeing the cubs fans expression after they lose yet another game. Why do they bother getting their hopes up? They know every season will end in disaster yet they still dream. The Cubs are not the Red sox. The Red sox knew all they had to do was beat the yankees and a world series would be secured. The cubs have no such thing because they are their own worst enemy.

In the word of Dusty baker "we were a ferrari and they were a dinosaur, the dinosaur crushed us" :lol :lol :lol

get the brooms ready for tomorrow, toronto

konerko with his second homer and podsednik with his fourth stolen base of the game...and it's only the fourth inning, lol

now rowand, lmao. back to back. 10-2 sox lead :)

anyone else having problems with MLBtv?

false alarm.

Go Padres. 401 for Hoffy. Going for the unprecedented 4 game sweep of St. Louis tomorry.

Another day, another loss.

This is getting fun!

The only solace I can take right now is seeing Garland get knocked the fuck around with him reverting back to his shit form. Yet the White Sox still won.

Damn it.

Don't worry, though. The White Sox pitching staff is about to crumble and the Sox don't have the offense to put up 10 runs a game, let alone 5 on a consistent basis!

The cubbies have just entered panic mode. No matter how much they try, they just cant seem to get it right. Perhaps they should let a goat take a shit on the pitchers mound to aleviate their curse. :lol

The Yanks won friends. 5-0 behind the strength of a CG shutout from Mike Mussina! 12-19! Our 132 game winning streak begins TODAY!

keep believing that. you do realize you look stupid bashing a team that is 23-7, right?

Figures it would be Mussina who I bitch about the most to throw the first shutout in what feels like 200 games. Definitely a strong start. He'll needs to pitch this way more often.

you know i really fucking hate working retail. i think ive been home for 2 yankee games so far this season. i usually catch the 8th and 9th innings of every game when i get home though...YIPPEE

Man, I bet you wish you could bottle this feeling up and enjoy it whenever you want. One whole game above the D-Rays...must be heavenly!
