woo, sox offense is actually on the board early. the way we've been hitting, these will be the only 2 runs we get all night though =(
 
I really hate to sound like Rick Sutcliffe, but one day Daniel Cabrera is going to be the best pitcher in the game. Holy shit he looks good.

no, i only caught the tail end of it and Steve Phillips was talking about what you said (already having Brazoban could make Gagne expendable). The little caption, though, said "Maddox and Gagne on Trade Block" or something to that effect, so they probably talked about Maddox trade rumors as well. I doubt very much they are related, if the Dodgers trade Gagne for Maddox Depodesta should be killed.
 
hmm...rumors on talk radio around here are saying the Sox are pretty actively shopping Crede around. And some west coast team apparantly was offering a pretty high profile player for Crede and McCarthy.

Interesting. Have no idea who it could be though.

:D Loving the way the Jays are starting this game. It would be cool if the Royals beat the Yankees but I won't hold my breath that the terrible, terrible Royals could beat anyone. If only it was possible for the Orioles/Sox to have tied. ;)

Wells with the 3 run bomb, 5-0 in the first and now Zaun is on with still only 1 out. :)

I second this. Olerud may be a corpse, but I'm so sick of watching Kentucky Fried Kevin fail with runners in scoring position on a nightly basis. I think Youkilis deserves to eat up some of Millar's playing time as well.
 
You guys wont believe me but I just willed (1) Brian Giles to get a 2 out hit and (2) Phil Nevin to get a triple .. I kid you not that's exactly what just happened.

I wouldnt mind us trading Gagne for some offense or a solid starter. Brazoban is young as well and can close for us as well.. I dunno, Gagne is an amazing pitcher, but we need to get to save opps for him to be valuable and the starting pitching is killing us lately (Penny had a great start tonight though at least).

Batista's been fine. I'd hate to give up tons of talent to get a relief pitcher. A power bat is our #1 need.

Good for you. I suppose the easiest bet is to just replace their avatar with the other team's logo for a week. It's easy and it gets the message across :) Or perhaps I can make a deformed cubby!
 
Another game, another loss...There was know way this team deserved to win this game. Brad Penny pitched really well tonight but our offense was horrid. I don't want to take anything away from Zabrano and his stuff tonight, but these guys were collectively awful from the first inning. With the exception of Ledee and his soft liners, nobody did anything productive at the plate (Nice Sac Drew) and our lone hit, was a "Texas-Leaguer."

So where the hell can this team go from here? Soon we'll have a worst record than the fucking Giants for fucks sake. I would'nt put it past this team to fight it's way past the Rockies as the worst team in the N.L West. And what the fuck is with the Dodgers bringing up all these bums that dont do shit for the team. Oscar Robles, Nokamura, Mike Rose, etc...... I dont see how Jim Tracy isnt on the hot seat yet, he has no movement in the offense and 2/3 of our line-up cant bunt/sacrifice to save their own life. BAAAAAAAAAAAAH! :)

EDIT: Holy crap at the hit to the helmet Antonio Perez took and fuck Ledee for his shit-tastic D on the play that scored what turned out to be the winning run. We need Badley to come back to put some life back into the dugout.

Well, I realistically don't think you can blow this team and start rebuiling based on the players we brought in and signed. I think the only thing we can do is ride this season out and try to make another splash in the off-season with a bat and a pitcher. The question then will become, how much will McCourt spend? Right now our payroll is at $81 million and the only way I see us in contention for next year is to work closer to the $100 million figure. I don't see the makeup of this team drastically changing, the only thing we can do is keep adding.

As for Tracy, he just signed an extension over the off-season, so he probably won't be leaving anytime soon. The only way I see him getting fired is if we fall into the Colorado/TB/Reds/KC territory and just quit on him. I personaly wouldn't be opposed to a change if our current trend continues, with Lloyd McClendon as my ideal canidate for stepping in.
