Cubs are 2-6 since I used the Ozzie avatar. Time for a change. Desperate times call for desperate measure (WE NEED FUCKING WIN!)! Captain dickwad has been too unstoppable the last couple games. Time to bring him back to earth and get a Cubs win!

Me mind on fire -- Me soul on fire -- Feeling hot hot hot
Party people -- All around me feeling hot hot hot
What to do - On a night like this
Music sweet - I can't resist
We need a party song - A fundamental jam

So we go rum-bum-bum-bum
Yeah we rum-bum-bum-bum

Good job Cubbies, the Yanks needed those games. 6 in a row now and the Yanks are only 5 games out, 1.5 away from Boston.

I hope you realize, Bob, that now I have eternal bragging rights.

better hope you guys can get the wild card, because the division is ours. :)

I'm feelin' a new streak coming on, boys.

Yankees sweep the baby bears to make it 6 of 6.
Moose and the pen hold strong and deny DLee of RBI. Again.

We get the Rays for the next three.
God willing, I'll be here proclaiming 9 of 9. :lol

its funny with a $200+ million payroll and yet two of the more important players are making the minimum (wang much more important to this point though).

though i fear for wang when he goes through his second time around the league. i hope he keeps it up but im not convinced yet. cano's gonna be around for a while.

You swept a crippled team without their two best pitchers going! Oh yeah I'm letting the excuses fly now! Congratufuckinglations on your didn't win nothing prize victory!

the same crippled team that swept the dodgers IN los angelas and took 3 of 4 from the (HOT) padres IN san diego.

hey new york, pass those brooms this way :lol :lol :lol

LA once again snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

24 games over .500. god damn. we're also a massive EIGHT games up over those pesky twins. life is good on the south side.

Bastards! We shouldve had 2-3 in this series. Too bad the injuries dont seem to be letting up on the Dodgers this season. Still I like how the Chisox's are playing, reminds me an awful lot of last years Dodgers with great chemistry and the Never say die attitude down to the last strike. :)

P.S Jim Tracy needs to face the facts and shelve Cezar Izturis because it's quite clear he isnt playing anywhere near 100% out there.

Fucking pen.. the game was going so well -- I thought they'd win one for me since I was a few thousand miles from home and at their game, but noooo.... :(

Get ready for some pain, we roll into San Diego for a 4 game series. I'll be expecting a sweep the way the arsehole are playing lately. No point in getting my hopes only to be dissapointed when we get swept. =\...

I swear Kent had his foot on first on that bunt.. they didnt show a replay at the stadium though -- what'd it look like on TV, rc?

Kent clearly had his foot on the bag, I guess Choi falling in front of him distracted the first base ump but replays show Kent had the runner out by a couple of steps. A really great catch by Kent considering, shame he got screwed on it.

Meier said:
I fuckin knew it! It looked like they had Ozuna at 2nd on the pick-off too!

no, ozuna was indeed safe. but yeah, pods shoulda been out on that bunt.

Great catch and his foot was clearly on the bag, he just didnt get the call.

yep. although, what the fuck is Choi thinking? if he just stays out of the way it's a routine play that isn't even NEAR close. i mean, it is his fault. but that's not to say it justifies the ump blowing the call. was just a dumb, scatterbrain thing to do by choi is all.

Meier said:
Yeah I was flipping out over the bizarre turn of events with the play in general and the call -- it was super annoying.

what's you think of the cell, btw? i think it's really nice considering which side of chicago it's on, and the average attendance.
the Fundamentals and Fan Deck are really cool. did you get a chance to get out to either place?

Nope, we just kinda stuck in our area. The park is really quite beautiful and I was very impressed by all of it right down to the bathroom I used which was basically the cleanest I'd ever seen one at a sporting event AND featured urinals instead of troughs -- amazing! We went to Chinatown first and walked around a bit before getting a bite and then we took the Red Line over to the stadium. Really, they deserve such better attendance -- it's a great park and the team is playing great ball. Shame really.

well they are! you would not believe how they just snuck into the citythis weekend.
on saturday i was going to work and this elderly couple with cubs hats on looked like lost lambs on the subway.
i kinda felt sorry for them so i thought about helping them out.
then i remenbered cubsfan.
then i knew what i had to do: give them wrong directions to the stadium.
they're probably in long island by now wondering when the game starts. :D
wellington, joe and captmblack will back me up on this.

From one Derek to the other...

Let's go D Rays!

This week's 4 game series with us against the O's is very very important. The Yankees are playing well, and we need to win at least 2 of these games for things to stay stable.

So very true.

Dudes wandering Manhattan or riding the uptown 4 train in Cubs garb like it's 1938 again...and occasionally shit-talking, no less. Funny stuff.

Hopefully they enjoyed their trip on the LIRR to Babylon, solrac. :P

Today my Milwaukee Brewers do battle with the Lovable dumbasses better known as the Cubs. I hope beyond all hope that we sweep the cubs to further their rapid decent to hell. Oh how fun its going to be to drill all those Cubs fans.
May my other favorite team win too. Lets go Yankees and beat those Devil rays. Only 5 games out of first place. Reclaim the crown that is rightfully yours.

having the yankees as your other favorite team, is like having no parachutes in a suicide contest.

McCarthy starting today for El Duque. hopefully he throws like he did at Wrigley....

aaaaand derrek lee continues to be jesus

konerko with a 3 run bomb in the first inning. i like where this is going. it's lima time all right.

:lol!

There were tons of people in Cubs gear at the stadium on Friday. We did our best to give them a hard time, and when the Yanks took the lead for good we really let them have it.

We all quickly changed our tune when a rather large breasted chick in a lowcut Cubs T came strolling by. GO CUBS!!

Back from the game.

Aaron Hill, I love you. Aaron Hill is hitting .382, and this is with just over 100 at bats now. he's no fluke. He hit his first HR of his career and his first SB today, while going 4-4. Ted Lily and Justin Speier pitch a NASTY game (lily with 10 k's, spy with 1) 3 hitting the O's....Oh what a beautiful day.

I see Jeter got an error tonight, how sad.

Damn, so close to a sexy comeback.

Sean Henn officially sucks...but maybe with a little training from Randy Johnson (please teach this kid a slider plzkthx), he could be something. Or at least a decent lefty pitcher out of the pen.

Still, the O's lost too so the Yankees are alright. THANKS BLUEJAYS!!!1

*waves at Fifty*

[EDIT: wtf, a Jeter avatar? YOU CAUSED THAT ERROR DIDN'T YOU. Fuck dammit. :(]

We're in this division race too, bitch. We beat the best team in the division and you lost to the worst! :lol I think us beating the O's benefits us more than it does you

Why did the White Sox game end after 8 innings?

wtf?

i left to go get some starbucks after we batted in the bottom of the eighth, and apparantly Hermanson got the save? he would have had to pitch in the top of the 9th since takatsu finished off the eighth.....

Both Yahoo and ESPN had the final posted after the 8th inning. :lol

Meh, it's fixed now on Yahoo, but not ESPN...
