If the Yanks having their staff ace cough up 7 runs in 3 innings then patching together an ugly comeback against one of the worst teams in the league constitues cause for celebration then this truly will be a lost season. :D Keep those expectations sky high Yankee fans! :lol

Also:
sure it's fun to laugh at Randy Johnson, but let's not forget Hideo(us) Nomo is "pitching" for the DRays. A 6 run lead is just barely into Nomo's comfort level, the Rays probably need another 4 runs before the lead is somewhat safe. ;)

Dempster, our lock down guy, does it again! A little scare tonight but gets the job done! Cubs win! :D After this whole clusterfuck of a year we are still only a game out of the wild card. Seeing the NL East beat the hell out of each other the wild card is ours to lose!

Lost amid the Yankees' dramatic comeback against the lowly Devil Rays is the fact that the Red Sox just dropped a beat down on the formerly red-hot Cleveland Indians at the Jake. The Sox' first road series win since they lit up the Yanks at the Toilet weeks ago. Let's go for the sweep.

yeah the sox have been hitting well. too bad our bullpen is shaky as hell right now. embree is terrible and i still dont trust foulke. but a sweep of the indians would be excellent!

Even though Embree gave up the home run last night he didn't look too bad. Give Hafner credit, he battled and got his HR off of a pretty decent pitch. Halama is the guy that concerns me the most. The guy flat out stinks, and without Nixon's highlight reel catch we'd probably have seen Foulke tonight. Halama has been pretty ineffective in long relief, turning small deficits into rather large ones in a short amount of time, usually putting the game out of reach. Once Schilling returns I would expect Halama to get the axe, with Arroyo or Wake taking his place out of the pen. Mantei's control has been pretty poor, but I can't see dumping him just yet. For all of the bullpen's woes, at least Timlin and Myers have been nails.

Was this the first game you saw on TV or something? We had 2 k less the night before. But yeah, it's not great. Still better than last year though. For weekday games that aren't against the Red Sox or Yankees we usually get 15-21k. Excuses? We've been doing awful the past decade, and fans are tired of the stadium. I dunno. Toronto fans suck for the most part.
 
Well, we lose again...I really don't know anymore, when we pitch well we can't seem to hit and when we hit well we can seem to pitch. This team is filled with holes and with Gagne having to undergoe Tommy John surgery, we just found another.

I'm sure the Yanks are happy to get the win, but RJ giving up 7 runs in 3 IP against the Rays can't bring a smile to too many Yanks fans faces. If he does that in a game against a team that isn't sporting a roster of minor league relievers things wont turn out as well.
 
Whenever you guys talk about this game, we can just say that Randy gave up 7 runs to one of the worst teams in the league and you only came back against probably the worst bullpen in the league! :lol

Smoltzowned. Even though the braves are the NL's "evil" team, I can't help but root for Smoltzie.
 
oh yeah, we now hold the largest 1st place cushion in baseball at 9 games.

for the rest of the entire season, we can finish one game under .500 while the twins finish 16 games over and we still win the division :lol :lol :lol

we're 22-5 against our own division, which is the best division in baseball(by the numbers, that is. AL Central teams combined are more games over .500 than any other division in either league.).

So very, very impressive.
 
Another great outing by a Dodger pitcher but the Offense cant get squat against Woody "The Powerhouse" Williams! :lol Anyways, our closer Eric Gagne and Catcher Paul Bako are done for the year which sucks. But what are u gonna do this team has been doomed by injuries. =X

Buehrle's scoreless inning streaks ends at 25.1 IP because of an error on Dye :(

ah well. He still gets the win, we move to 27 over, and are now 10-0 against KC this year :lol :lol

In his last 9 starts now Buehrle is 6-0 with an ERA under 2.
He moves to 9-1 with a 2.48 ERA. Cy Young here he comes.

An older guy I work with is a lifetime (about 65 years) Yankee fan. He's absolutely disgusted. The pure venom this guy spews in the hall way needs to be heard. I should tape him.

"Other than Jeter and Posada, I hate all of these overpaid fucks! There's no true Yankees anymore. Paul O' Neill was a true Yankee..even though he came from the Reds. He had class. No damn class. They make me sick. I want to throw up every time I check the score."

"I know what's wrong with Bernie Williams! He needs to get his fat throws like a girl ass to Weight Watchers. That's what's wrong with Bernie. Bernie was good back when he didn't look like he had 3 extra helpings of pancakes for breakfast."

"Giambi.. even though I think he's a paisan, I don't like him. I look in my heart and try to forgive him, being Italian and all..but then I think of all the money he makes..bah, he can go fuck himself."

And he goes on.. and on.. and on.

It's great.
