i know every other yankee fan would disagree with me but id like to see the yanks get griffey for center field. randy winn seems unlikely and one name that keeps popping up is eric byrnes. id take griffey any day of the week.

oh and i hope cuban buys the pirates, that would be awesome.

If I get Griffey for a bag of balls (and a restructuring of his spectacularly shitty contract - he's owed deferred money by the reds until like, 2011), I take him in a heartbeat. He'd savage the shortporch in right field. :D

I dunno, until Griffy goes 2 seasons without getting hurt I'd be wary of making a deal for him since he's so injury prone. He has, however, appeared to nurse his previous injury much better than in the past.

Edit: Goddamnit Desp, be quiet!

All right ARAM! :D

Prior struggled in the bottom 2nd and gave up 2 runs. Cubs came back in the top 3rd to take a 3-2 lead with a 2 out 3 run homer by Aramis! :D

You know the team is hot when they bounce back from a deficit right away!

Grrr, fucking Beernutz. Cubs start the top 7th with 2 singles working the pitcher. On his first pitch stupid burshitz taps the ball to the pitcher double play. Now it's up to ARAM to get that runner home from 3rd!

why the hell would the Pirates want to take a terrible contract like Lowell's for nothing? did Mark Cuban already buy the team?

Probably because they would be losing Mark Redman and Daryle Ward in the offseason, anyways.

Mark Redman needs to be moved anyways, in my opinion, to make room for Ian Snell in the rotation. Even though Snell has pitched pretty poorly since being called up, the fact is, he'll be here next year, where as Redman will not.

Daryle Ward will probably be let go at the end of the year anyways to make room for Brad Eldred.

The Pirates would basically be giving up a whole lot of nothing to get Mike Lowell and possibly Larry Bigbie (depending on what rumor you believe). Lowell could, potentially, fill their 3B whole if he bounces back into his old form. He'd come at a discounted price, probably about 4 or 5 million a year. Bigbie would fit nicely in the outfield, especially at PNC Park with the short left field porch.

It is far from a great deal, but it would work for the Pirates, I think.

ARRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAM! 2 run homer top 9th! 7-3 cubs!

Don't look now Dlee but you may lose the triple crown in rbi total from ARAM who is catching up!

Guess who's not in first place in the AL East anymore?

and probably 20 minutes away from being in 3rd :lol

I never though Yanks fans would premature ejaculate over a .5 game lead

Last 9 games, Cubs are 8-1 and have scored 59 runs while only giving up 21! Glad to see the true Cubs have finally shown up! :D We should have sent Patterson to AAA sooner! :(

Josh Fogg intentionally walks Lance Berkman

Morgan Ensberg singles on a line drive to center fielder Chris Duffy. Orlando Palmeiro scores. Lance Berkman to 2nd.

Mike Lamb homers (3) on a line drive to right field. Lance Berkman scores. Morgan Ensberg scores.

---- 5-0 Astros

No team has ever swept a 4 game series that has included a double header.

Burke is hitting .253? O_o

EDIT: make it .257! wtf

Yea I was like wtf when I saw his batting average, how many points has his average risen in the last couple of weeks? :lol

I'm also happy that the old Berkman is back :D

Indeed... it's nice to see him start hitting. They knew he could hit major league pitching, just took him a while to get acclimated.

:lol

Burke with another single....hitting .261 now.

If the Stros could only get one more big bat into the lineup and one decent relief pitcher they could really win this WC.

I so fucking hate Chad Harville in our pen....that bitch either loses games or gives me a heart attack.

Woot Stros win, have we been 2 games over .500 at all this season? :lol
