what the hell is going on blue jays?????
Bitches, we ain't here to play! Jays are 100% business this year, and that business is beating out the Yankees for the AL Wildcard. BigJonsson may be crazy and a bit off when it comes to hockey but I've decided to embrace his wild-eyed baseball optimism.

Go Jays! Doc to win 25 games, Batista to get 40 saves and Vernon to get AL MVP after a .320-40-135 campaign!

Mushashi.. shush.

Leave my Tribe alone. I seriously think they have a god shot of winning their division. they have a solid rotation (with the inclusion of Millwood), solid hitting top to bottom. No one thats going to go on a HR tear mind you, but decent 1 through 9.

Barring injuries, they should get the division, if not the wildcard..... then choke in the playoffs. Like usual.

I like your picks! You're not fooled by the O's trading for Sammy..

I don't think the Giants will win the NL West, now that Bonds is out, but who knows. I think the Cubs will finish above the Astros in the NL Central, but I'm not arguing elsewhere.

Haha, no. Sammy going to the Orioles does nothing but end Sammy's career.

The Giants are somehow still a scary team without Bonds. Tons of good veterans. If Edgardo Alfonso gets anywhere near his MVP type performance of years past, J.T. somehow keeps hitting, Alou does what he does, the pitching stays consistent.. they're a darn hard team to get past. The Padres still concern me with their inconsistent hitting although they have all the pieces in place. You know Loretta's going to hit all the time.. but Nevin, Klesko and Giles are all streaky and these are the guys the team relies on for power. Greene should have a standout year and so should Burroughs, EY and Dave Roberts will do reasonable jobs and the pitching is as good as ever. But that hitting...

The Cubs, IMO are done this year. Their pitching continues to be riddled with injuries. They're not going to be dependable all year. The MLB season is all about grinding it out and the Cubs haven't been able to do that.. and won't this year again, as their best pitchers are already starting the season with major problems. Houston will just be good enough to pass the Cubs... and that means the Marlins will have the best record among wildcard contenders.

gagne placed on DL for the first time in his career...

hmmm....STEROID WITHDRAWLS?!?!?!?

oh and kevin brown had to leave todays game because of a "stiff and achy" back...HAHAHAH FUCK YOU ASSHOLE

I can't wait to see the new artificial playing surface and scoreboards at the Rogers Centre. Should be a decent season for the Jays if they aren't plagued by injuries, but the rotation still looks generally weak.

people picking the M's to finish last in the west are going to sucking it down after we march on to the playoffs

if the yanks/sox game gets rained out sunday night im gonna FLIP OUT.
Can't wait to watch that game on any of the 7 stations it's airing on. ;P I would be watching it anyway, but a bit of variety on opening day would nice - why only have one game? I'd prefer a triple header on Sunday with half the teams starting.

Starting the season proper on a Monday with a bunch of afternoon games is just discrimination against those of us with jobs. :(

Vlad maybe graced with the most talent anywhere in the world, but his horrible disrespect for plate discipline puts him well below a long list of baseball Gods.

He is awesome though, isn't he?

Damn that 7th inning was completely horrible defensively for the Dodgers. Damn were getting hit with injuries left and right before the season even kicks off.

LOS ANGELES ANGELS

goddamnit that is gonna piss me off for a long time

cubsfan those are some of the most fucking ridiculous playoff predictions I've ever seen, and I've been known to pick the Chargers vs. the Saints in the superbowl

1) Wow, Bernie Williams just gave a gift to Boston with that strikeout. Yanks up 4-1 in the middle of the game now.

2) yay for sticky

3) How many doubles in this game alone already?? No homerun yet that I've seen but the slugging must be through the roof.

BANG BANG MOTHER FUCKERS!

the top of the 1st was an awesome inning by randy, got me really pumped and gave me goosebumps.

AND A BIG FUCK YOU ESPN FOR INFESTING THE GAME WITH THESE STEROID REPORTS AND INTERVIEWS. LEAVE THAT SHIT FOR SPORTS CENTER.

LOL! A-Rod owning the BoSox! That's what you get for talking so much shit bitches!

Yanks with heads up base running? Stolen bases? Playing like they should have played in the ALCS!

These commentators are horrible! I used to like them, but they're just senile now. They won't shut up about last year (No one wants to talk to the hot Sam Ryan, because he's just talking about roids and the past. shut up crazy bitch). The guys wouldn't shut up about Dave Roberts' steal....it's like I'm listening to baseball for dummies.

Since the game is only on ESPN 2 (gotta give the big channel women's hoops!) they were not able to pay for the two commentators to fly to New York, and they've been forced to just watch a DVD of the 2004 playoffs and spend 5 minute periods just blabbering about crucial plays from that time. I am reminded now of why baseball is a sport better seen in person.

Shit i keep missing the good stuff! I'm flipping between the ESPN2 feed (which sportsnet is kind enough to offer me on 4 fucking channels) and the WSBK feed (the local Boston station) and Lost in Space (the criminally overlooked family scifi film with Joey Tribiani and the kid from Malcolm in the Middle).

Hate the Yankees, but loooove my boy Matsui.
Code:
OF	H. Matsui (NYY - OF) Bot 8, 8-1	3/5	3	1	3	0	0	.600
That's what I'm talking about! Fucking dorks in my league laughed at me when I said Godzilla would be one of the top 10 OF this year!

I thought you lived in Winnipeg, why can you get a local boston station?
Super stations, dude. Get the Movie Central package and you get a bunch of big US channels (I get the NY WB station that airs Mets games - or at least the preseason games, a Chicago station that seems to air Cubs and White Sox [er, yay?], the aforementioned Boston station to catch hilarious post-game shows, and I think one other). Add those to the Sportsnet package and that's a shitload of baseball for me this year.

what a crock of shit that suspension is. the only reason they suspended that guy is because he had 4 homeruns last year.

MLB: See! Steroids didn't taint the HR records! Look at this guy, he took steroids and could only hit 4! case closed!

major league baseball is a joke

p.s. twins in 2k5!

matsui will end up in top 3 of al mvp voting.

yankees did EVERYTHING great tonight. hitting, fielding, baserunning, pitching, relief work, stealing, everything.

not my problem that your dumbass of a manager decided he didnt like his two stud pitchers earning a living. just let it roll off of you and accept the way things are.

Well, people have been saying MLB should have a steroid policy more like the NFL's. Looks like they've taken the first step by making examples of useless scrubs!

Hell yeah!

*Still expects the County of Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim California to win the division* :( Ah well, at least it means I have the opportunity to go to some playoff games. :P

Man, I'm not sure if this season will be so great... the steroid scandal really has ruined my image of baseball. Now it's kind of hard to say whether someone's great performance is just them having a baseball epiphany or if they're roiding. Although I do know it's obvious to see if they're roiding, it's not overnight. I guess I mean the whole hopeful expectation of someone having a breakout year is going to be clouded with doubt about its legitimacy now. It seems hard to believe anybody can be a real superstar player anymore.

That presentation last night was awful. If every games going to be like that, I'll stick to the slow updates of MLB.com's live boxscore. Anything is better than 3+ hours of steroid talk.
