That was a great game last night if you were a Yankee fan. Randy Johnson had a solid 6 six innings with only 1 run allowed (not surprisingly by Ortiz). This season should be stellar and I really hope we can get this whole steriods babble behind us.

oh come on now. frank is nowhere near as important to the sox as prior is to the cubs. not even close to being as valuable.

Good man. I'm heading out now, and I'll be stopping by the Hard Rock cafe @ the skydome to see the Jays play @ 4:00. Enjoy opening day everyone.

are the Reds still using Adam Dunn at leadoff?

WTH? I'm pretty sure you made that up. Dunn bats fifth as always. There IS a major change in the lineup though with Junior batting 2nd now. Which is stupid because he should be batting 3rd with Casey 2nd. Dunn should be cleanup and Kearns 5th.

he batted leadoff for a bit last season (or the season before, i forget). I just brought it up because of how hilariously ridiculous it was.

:lol Must have been that crazy Bob Boone

Jeff Cirillo has homered and doubled so far today, both off Oliver Perez. It's like he never left Milwaukee...must be the brats.

That's just sick. I checked the box score and didn't believe it. I'm guessing this first round or two back around the NL is going to mean lots of K's for Pedro. I really wonder if his arm will last.

He officially struck out every one of the Red's starting line up at least once.

The sad thing is that Mets/Reds is on ESPN today, but I'm stuck at work. Keeping an eye on the box score, though...sounds like the old Pedro is back, at least for a day.

This fucking MSG-Time Warner dispute means I can only listen on the FAN. I have the MLB Extra Innings package but it's blacked out on there too. Motherfucker.

Pedro just sacked up and hasn't given up a hit since the first...

In fact, he struck out 9 in a row at one point (excluding a walk)

He won't come out for the 7th for sure...

6 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 12 K's

That's a very nice line.

How does David Weathers get to still pitch?

103 pitches for Pedro on opening day is a lot, but I admit to being impressed. I thought for sure he was going to get pounded, especially after the 3 runs in the 1st.

damn, pitching duel in chitown. only 3 hits combined with both teams. Buehrle throwing a one hitter going into the 7th

i missed an ENTIRE yankee season because of msg/cablevision. FUCKING BASTARDS

Buehrle with 8 IP, 2 hits, 1BB, 5K

Shingo on now for the save...

BAM. Sox win 1-0

Awesome performance by Buehrle and Shingo, as always. Shingo gets through the 9th on 12 pitches =D
and we sold out, surprisingly. great opening day.

MMMM! nice way to lose by the mets. told ya they were being hyped. they still are gonna have the same problems as last year....

Except..Mulder isn't a Brave.

woops. i always get those two oakland pitchers mixed up and who got traded were.
mulder: st louis
hudson: atlanta.

OD lineup...

1 Adam Everett SS
2 Craig Biggio 2B
3 Jeff Bagwell 1B
4 Morgan Ensberg 3B
5 Luke Scott LF
6 Jason Lane RF
7 Brad Ausmus C
8 Willy Taveras CF
9 Roy Oswalt P

Everett leading off? Ensberg cleanup? Taveras 8th?

Garner, I hope you know what you're doing.

LMAO@Mets.

Beltran better be prepared to be disappointed by more games like these...

Wow you're pathetic. Can't wait to see this guy crying down the stretch.

As for the game... I missed it and I guess I have a reason to be happy that I did. =/ Only one game... oh well...

rawr rawr rawr! Prior will be back 15 days, no problem. They just treat him like glass. I still expect a huge comeback season. Cubs meanwhile going round the lineup easy. I'm really liking the look of this hitting lineup.

Damn, the Pirates get beat up by the Brewers at home...is nothing sacred?!

Oliver Perez looked okay but he was clearly outplayed by the young Brewers guy (forget his name).

Jason Bay=the future of baseball.
