WOW! What a HUGE win. Today's headlines were talking about how great the Orioles were, but look who's beating them. Control Towers goes 8 innings, Batista gets the save. HUGE HUGE win.

EVERETT I LOVE YOU!

Sox take the lead in the bottom of the 8th. We've led in all 26 games this year. I believe this is a new MLB record. awesome

"Will Kerry Wood ever win 20 games in a season?"

No - 75%
Yes - 25%

im beginning to think the 20 strikeout game was a curse in disguise.....

If only the Yankees had been at the stadium last night, Yankee Stadium might have set a record for most lusty booing when Brown left the game. Glavine heard it pretty good when he left at Shea. Mike and the Mad Dog should be interesting today.

Lots of matinees today, including Burnett v. Hudson on TBS at noon CDT.

I love how the Cubs provide me and all Brewer fans with plenty of entertainment. Sure the brewers may suck, and sure they may never get anywhere, but brewer fans have no false hope. Cubs fans on the other hand always believe that their team is one day going to reach the world series and win it. :lol

The Cubs will likely suck like they usually do and lose to my Brewers once again. :)

The Jays are making me happy :D

Your pitching is making me nervous. Josh Towers finally found his game, eh? I remember he came up with Baltimore a few years ago and was really good for a few starts. Then the league figured him out. I think we ended up releasing him for nothing. Such a shame too, Josh had good potential. I guess the Jays are reaping the benefits from that blunder.

On Friday, the Orioles have to go up against another mistake - Denny Bautista of the Royals. 2-1 with a 4.55 ERA in 5 starts. Not too shabby.

But wouldn't it be amazing if both Baltimore AND Toronto made a shot at the playoffs? What would ESPN talk about without the BoSox and Yanks?

I'd love that.....Hopefully the two teams can finish 1/2 in the standings :D

That would be the most boring shit in the world...

INDEED
I have some friends who are die hard cub fans and they are pretty realistic about the cubs, but other than that.. I can't stand cub fans. Its hilarious watching them talk. "Oh, its just a cold streak, will pull through when it 'matters'." LMAO!
And the fact that they consider the brewers and their fans second class citizens adds fuel to the fire. If you live in the midwest, listen to a chicago station after the brewers beat them. They act as if the brewers just got "lucky" and that the cubs should be ashamed of themselves.

If the brewers lose two in a row everybody jumps ship and considers the brewers done. If they win 5 or 6 in a row its just a lucky streak and they'll suck sooner than later again.

If the brewers could finish #2 in the division behind the cardinals this season that would be asking for a lot, but based on how bad chicago and Houston are playing it doesn't seem impossible.

For New Yorkers and the rest of New England maybe. But there's a lot of fans of both Toronto and Baltimore that have been waiting a long time for a competitive team to emerge. Both ballclubs have a long history of competitive teams. For the O's it's been over 7 years(1997 was the last time the O's were competitive, that year they won the division). Toronto's had a few decent seasons, but since 1993, they've only had 1 decent shot at making the playoffs(2000, when they were 4.5 games back of the division). With all the problems New York is having, it seems like a great time for one of those two teams to step it up a notch.

Decent start by Jeff Weaver last night, he wasnt at his best but went six strong innings and our bullpen held for 3 scoreless. Looks like Valentin might be out for a while though, tough shit.

P.S Dodger fans what do u think about the stories that Darren Dreifort might not pitch in the majors again?!? I feel bad for the guy, so many injuries to hit just one guy year after year. I was loving his pitching last year as the setup man for Mota, but once they gave him Mota's spot he fell apart and got injured again.

i don't feel sorry for him. He got like $50 million for doing NOTHING. Darren Dreifort is the american dream.

I didnt say he wasnt a complete bust for the money. I mean come on, It's not like he was going out there and looking for ways to break something.

Glad to see the Braves bounce back from the horrible game last night. Another quality start by Hudson and we're tied for the division lead again. I suppose we're gonna be neck and neck with the fish all season.

Well said. Anyway.....Frustrating loss today, since Roy was up, and Bedard always seems to pitch a beauty against the Jays. But that's that. Hopefully we'll do well in this upcoming series against the ChiSox, that would be something :D Good luck SMD, you're a smart man and a good fan.

I guess Sean Henn wasn't the answer, hey Brian!

Thanks for showing the world just how shitty our farm system is.

There was a great rant on Florida radio today about taking the checkbook away from Cashman.

QUANTRILL KEEPING THE GAME CLOSE WITH HIS AWESOME COMMAND.

Fucking turd. Release him already. Eat the god damn contract and let him fucking go. He's of no god damn use.

GIAMBI HIT IN THE HEAD, anyone see it?!! IS THERE ANY CHANCE THAT HE'S DEAD? DOES THIS FREE UP HIS DISGUSTING CONTRACT?

You won your World Series, isn't the Yankee hatred in the Magical Land of History Erasing known as Boston suppossed to dissapate along with the 86 years of misery?

Quantrill and Gordon have got to go..but who replaces them? Sean Henn didn't exactly turn out to be the Dontrelle Willis shitbags under the eyes Cashman was hoping for. There's simply nobody else. Though I absolutely have to wonder why'd they give up on Karsay and keep Quantrill around. At least Karsay's not 60.
