well a little over a month ago Brantley said the Sox were the biggest fluke in baseball and would come crashing down hard in the next few weeks, and said there was absolutely no way the Sox would or could keep winning.
Then last week he said Ozzie is basically a bad manager and has no idea how to use his bullpen, and single-handedly cost the Sox numerous games.

sooooooo, today during the game the topic came up somehow, and Hawk had this to say about Brantley(paraphrased, obviously):

"He just doesn't know what he's talking about. He hasn't watched us play all year and he has no concept of how Ozzie manages. If he's gonna talk about Ozzie and the team, he could at least know what he's talking about first. Ozzie has forgotten more about the game of baseball than Brantley will ever know. That's why Ozzie is a manager and Brantley is behind a desk somewhere being a second-rate broadcaster. I think he's just embarassed because he said this team has absolutely no chance to keep playing like this over a month ago, and here we are on June 3rd still with the best record in baseball. He has to be embarrassed after saying something like that."

the bolded part is the exact quotes i remember

JESUS SHAVES...and rallies the sox past the angels!

We'll be 4-1 on our current west coast road trip. The White Sox should take notes.

I had this game pegged for a loss anyway. We'll finish 6-1 on this trip after maddux and big z go.

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol Last I checked we had the best record in all of baseball. we can lose on the west coast all we want(and we have), but what does it matter when we're still 18 games over .500?

:lol :lol Eaton gets a mother fucking triple :lol

Who needs Chappelle's Show? Astros are the greatest comedy act on TV.

Taveras pulls the bat back on a Suicide squeeze? Andy Pettitte tries to score from 2nd base on a hit to shallow right? Biggio striking out on a pitch 3 feet outside the plate? All we're missing is Bagwell grounding into a triple play, Oswalt having a ball bounce of his elbow, or Bradtroy Hawklidge giving up a lead every other game.

We're only 1/3 of the way through the year. If the Sox are still in first place by the end of the year and don't have their annual collapse against the Twins I'll be impressed. :)

Mr.Miguel, that team is well on their way to championship glory.Grab a bag, stuff all your hate inside it,zip said bag and toss it at a Cub fans head.....cause all I see is you spouting crazy talk like them.

Taveras didnt pull the bat back, clearly Molina the Cards catcher grabbed it! Andy is the fastest Stro besides Taveras...I would have sent him too, that man was built to run! Biggio is old,why dont you cut him some slack and it was 2 feet, dont try to make it seem worse than it was.Bags would never ground into a triple play and as far as I know has never hit into DP,DONT JOKE ABOUT ROY-O HES LEADING THE CHARGE WITH THAT 6-6 RECORD! AND LIGHTS OUT LIDGE BEING ATTACKED...WTF DUDE THATS A NEW LOW! >_<

VIVA LA STROS!

Halladay is the first AL pitcher to reach 9 wins. 2.55 ERA (Kenny Rogers he is not) 0.95 WHIP (Johan is #1 with 0.94)

Cubs center-field prospect Felix Pie (pronounced p-AY) appears to be on the same fast track at Double-A West Tenn. Pie's manager, Bobby Dickerson, told reporters this week he wouldn't be surprised to see Pie in a Cubs uniform later this season.

If the 20-year-old Pie continues to produce at his current pace—he's hitting .315 with 11 home runs, 16 doubles, 24 RBIs and 13 stolen bases—he could become the leadoff man the Cubs have had so much trouble finding.

Patterson, meanwhile, remains an enigma. He came into Friday's game hitting .229 against left-handers and had five times as many strikeouts (45) as walks (nine).

Although he's tied for second on the team with 10 home runs, Patterson sometimes appears overmatched, swinging at pitches over his head or in the dirt. He went down swinging in his first at-bat Friday night against the Padres' Adam Eaton.

"It's frustrating to look at him," manager Dusty Baker said. "I'm sure it's more frustrating for him living it than us looking at it. He's trying to pick 'em up.

Yes! Send Patterson back to AAA, Pie is my next hero.

I posted this here since I figured it wasn't worth posting a separate thread on, but ESPN Classic is showing Game 6 of the 1993 World Series right now.

To a Philadelphian me, this is like watching 9/11 coverage. I feel absolutely horrible inside, but I feel a sense of duty to watch it out to the end, even though I know the travesty that awaits me.

:lol :lol :lol

also, why would fox nationally televise the chi sox and indians? i can understand putting the sox on there, but us playing below average cleveland? whatever.

ROFLCAKES.

Well, we need to do something now.

We need a left fielder and a lefty reliever.

Can we steal Pat Burrell and Bill Wagner from the Phils, mayhaps? Then Tony Wo can get the fuck on the bench and be the world's deadliest pinch runner, Bernie can DH all the time, Bill Wagner can do what Tom Gordon currently does, and we can get some damn production from LF.

Astros fucking rock,stfu haters.

CHAMPIONSHIP BIATCHS!

Yankees pull it out in the fucking CLUTCH.

Wang was huge. And he pitched well too. :P
Flash and Mo nailed it down, and Ruben Sierra came with the killa fly.

<3 <3 <3 Robinson Cano, also.

The entire Cubs offense is starting to hit.

I repeat, the entire Cubs offense is starting to hit.

Watch out major league baseball!

:lol :lol :lol Patterson was actually intentionally walked.

Maddux gets in on the fun

If the Pads hadn't changed pitchers I was going to call the cops in SD and ask them to charge the mound and subdue Brian Falkenborg before he hurt himself anymore.

I know its early, but since Eminem likes to rip on the Cubs and point out how well the White Sox record is and how they're making the playoffs I'd like to point this out. After the Cubs win tonight they'll be tied for the NL Wild Card lead. :)

edit: nvm you're right

5-1 on the current West Coast road trip. Woody Williams versus Big Z tommorrow. Gonna finish 6-1 on this road trip. White Sox am cry.

WE HAVE THE BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL. WE ARE NOT CRYING ABOUT ANYTHING THE FUCKING CUBS DO. TRUE WHITE SOX FANS CARE ABOUT OUR TEAM FIRST, THE CUBS SECOND. NOT VICE VERSA.

sorry, i just had to make that clear. best record in baseball, 4.5 games up in our division, and we're gonna be sad because the cubs have gotten hot lately? :lol :lol

I'd say Dusty Baker is leading candidate for manager of the year right now.

there are no amount of :lol's in existance to properly respond to this.
