I'm sure you already got the news RC but just in case it slipped through the cracks...

KANSAS CITY -- Dodgers' closer Eric Gagne is in all likelihood headed back to the disabled list after an MRI in Kansas City revealed that he has another sprain of the right elbow.

"It's the same situation he was dealing with in Spring Training," manager Jim Tracy said. "He said he felt burning there."

An MRI performed by Dr. Steven Joyce, the Royals team physician, revealed that Gagne has a second-degree sprain of the ulnar collateral ligament.

Tracy said Gagne will "more than likely" land on the disabled list. Yhency Brazoban will again step into the closer's role in Gagne's absence.

On a more uplifting note for all of us Dodger fans, Izturis passed Nomar and Eckstein to lead NL shortstops in all star votes.

It iz a fact: Cesar Izturis of the Los Angeles Dodgers leads all National League shortstops in All-Star votes.

According to balloting totals released on Tuesday by Major League Baseball, the 25-year-old Venezuelan polled more than 209,000 votes last week to vault into first place -- ahead of David Eckstein of the Cardinals and Nomar Garciaparra of the Cubs.

Izturis leads Eckstein by just under 17,000 votes, while Garciaparra -- who led the first two weeks -- is in third place, some 37,000 votes behind Izturis. In the last 10 days, Izturis, out to make the All-Star team for the first time, has jumped from sixth place to the top of the shortstop balloting.

mother fucker. our offense is finally alive and our starting pitching is fucking up. Contreras and Duque get destroyed on consecutive nights. ugh.

still got 4 innings to come back though.

and tomorrow i have front row seats for the game.....hopefully they can at least avoid a sweep if we lose this one.

This game reminded so much of the games played while they were in that huge slump. Tons of hits but all out of sync and no hits when we have runners in scoring position. Nice to see Weaver settle down and go another strong 7 innings even though the offense let him down tonight. Antonio Perez failing to lay down the bunt pretty much killed any chance of tying the game in the 9th. =X

Ha, ha, ha,

Lima Time.....BELIEVE IT

Since you probably have heard more on Perez than me, do you know if this kid has any pop in the bat?

Not much, he's more of a Izturis clone than anything. The homerun he has was a line drive that barely went over the fence if I remember correctly.

Ok Sergio, what the fuck is going on?! You're scaring me. You've now pitched 16 consecutive scoreless innings. Has the Mitre train finally arrived? Mitre keeps on pitching like this send Wood to AAA after Prior comes back!

Ahhhh, Dusty. I found two great quotes from him after last nights game:

"The horses [Wood and Prior] are the horses," Baker said. "[Mitre's] not a horse yet. He's a little pony trying to be a horse. He'll be a horse someday."

:lol

"It's a great feeling for me because I don't have to do [anything]," Baker said about the Cubs, who are in offensive overdrive. "Just put them out and let 'em play."

:lol :lol :lol :lol

Eminem the hex has begun. There is nothing you can do now but pay me vast sums of money to remove it.

My Little Mitre

"It's a great feeling for me because I don't have to do [anything],"

Oh shit...Dusty figured out the secret to winning. NOOOO!!!

Did anyone watch that craziness that erupted during the Angels/Nats game last night? I was out watching Batman and I come back home to see benches clearing, pine tar, comeback win, etc.

Donnelly was ejected after Nationals manager Frank Robinson asked umpires to inspect his glove and found a foreign substance.

Donnelly was tossed in the seventh without so much as throwing a pitch, ejected because he had a foreign substance -- pine tar, he said later -- on the heel of his glove.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia then began jawing at Robinson, and both benches emptied, although there apparently were no punches thrown.

Guillen, suspended late last season by the Angels for throwing a temper tantrum and traded last November, was particularly angered during the incident and had to be restrained by his Washington teammates.

Scioscia acknowledged that the use of pine tar is against the rules, but said it is "used around baseball," doesn't alter the flight of the ball and usually isn't an issue.

Both he and Robinson were still fuming after the game.

"I lost a lot of respect for Mike tonight -- as a person and as a manager. And there's nothing he can say to me now, nothing," Robinson said. "I don't even want him to approach me, I don't even want him to apologize to me. I would not accept it or have anything to do with it."

Robinson, a former vice president of discipline for the major leagues, said Donnelly simply got caught cheating and Scioscia was "way off base."

Said Scioscia: "I told Frank we were going to undress his pitchers when they were on the mound to see if they had any pine tar in their glove. He obviously wasn't happy. He was screaming. We weren't making a lunch date."

When the Nationals took the field for the bottom of the seventh, Scioscia asked the umpires to check pitcher Gary Majewski's glove, which they did -- and made him fix the loose laces on it.

Told that Robinson also claimed Donnelly had sandpaper with him before he got rid of it, Scioscia's voice rose as he said, "He had no sandpaper out there. That's absolutely ridiculous."

... And Jose Guillen hit a two run homer to tie the game, and Junior Spivey won it! HOW BOUT THAT FOR JUSTICE?

Mike Scioscia is a prick. Simple as that. I hate him more than his team.

Last year he got Tim Hudson called for a balk by yapping at the umpires for 3 innings, what's so bad about his own pitcher getting tossed for CHEATING?

Scioscia annoys me, because somehow it's Frank Robinson's fault that his pitcher cheated.

:lol @ The Dodgers offense making Lima Time look good. Fuckin assholes cant hit shit! Im just gonna hope it isnt lights out for Gagne this season like everyone is reporting. =\

P.S Izturis wasnt in tonights line-up, I hope it's not another injury! :shakes fist:

Derek Lee has the best shot at Triple Crown that I've seen in a LONG time this far into the season. Even if Bonds was playing, Lee would still have a shot at the Triple Crown at this rate.

Another defeat to the freaking Royals!!!

How many Cy Young's does KC have in their staff? I know our offense isn't the problem, so it has to be the abundant supply of high quality pitchers that deserves credit for shutting down our great offensive machine. :lol

AARON BOONE! :lol

Game over motherfucks :lol

(Aaron saw the Giambi action in this forum and wanted in on the love)

But really, four games out of the wild card. Hope is alive on the shores of Lake Eerie.

what an awesome game to go to. not many nights you see a 10 run inning :lol :lol :lol :lol

also, i got the best shirt ever:

also, frank has 4 homers in 21 at bats so far. fucking crazy.

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol @ Carl Everett:

Everett has had gay teammates, whom he has accepted, but: "Gays being gay is wrong. Two women can't produce a baby, two men can't produce a baby, so it's not how it's supposed to be. ... I don't believe in gay marriages. I don't believe in being gay."

Wrigley Field is the worst park in the majors: "They need to implode Wrigley."

Jose Canseco is a "bitter, ignorant individual."

"Fan is short for fanatic - he's crazy about something he really doesn't know about. And it's proven that 99 percent of fans have no idea what they're watching."

The congressional hearings examining steroid use were a waste: "We have a war going on -- I have family in that war -- yet we're talking about steroids. ... If everybody in the world got on steroids, we'll still lose more kids to a war than we will from steroids."

oh Carl :lol

After Washington's 1-0 victory, Jose Guillen blasted Scioscia, his manager with the Angels last season.

"He was talking to me last year about respect and class and how we have to move on," Guillen said. "I don't care really much about Mike Scioscia.

"I have no respect for him any more, because I'm still hurt from what happened last year. Mike Scioscia to me is like a piece of garbage. I don't care if I get in trouble. He can go to hell."

:lol :lol :lol :lol

I like to rag on Steinbrenner, but I gotta give him props for financing the new stadium himself and not running to the city of New York to help out.

the stadium will pay for itself, it's guaranteed to turn profit. plus it gives the yanks major revenue sharing relief :lol

I'm back like a heart attack. Nice to see us split the remaining two games in the Cards series, although reading the score in the paper wasn't the same as seeing it at home. Brewers gonna get brewed this weekend. Oh, and Cubsfan, the avatar can go, homey.

Stupid RJ...I left the bandwagon, and all of a sudden he dominates. Again. Bastage.

Also, Hideki's hot again, and Giambi seems to be waking up.

Now, we face the Cubs.

So uh...who're the Cubs fans here? I wanna know where the hilarity's coming from in advance. :lol :lol :lol
