Not as bad the Mariners! Maybe if they start winning we'll see you again in this thread, and not accidently posting NBA pictures! :lol

:(

I dont have anything positive to post about, even Ichiro is struggling wtf :(

Jays only suck with runners in scoring postions, other than that they are good. :P

Seriously, they are a good defensive team with some decent pitching, they are far from a shit team. They are even closer to first place than some 2nd place teams.

Sheff is a bitch... I guess he's just scared of playing in the NL EAST... the toughest division in all of baseball. The guy isn't into challenges I guess.

Damn, McCarthy really, really, really reminds me of Prior. The way he looks(especially), the way he throws, his size, and his demeanor.
I'm not saying he'll ever be as good as Prior, but there are a ton of similarities in watching them pitch.

We absolutly own the Pads this year. We have yet to lose a single series to them all year and in total, are 8-4 against them. Now, it's everybody else in the league we struggle with.

Nice outing Weaver

holy fuck juan uribe just sent this game into extra innings with a ridiculously great play in the bottom of the 9th.

i about had a heart attack

i swear to christ, if detroit can't get a run off of the combination of Vizcaino and Shingo in 3 innnings they are the worst hitting team in the majors.

struggling my ass. Aren't you watching the game? Ichiro just dropped his bat in mid pitch, and ROUNDHOUSE kicked a ball over the right field wall for a 480 foot HR.

That makes going 1 for 6 A-OK in my book.

:lol :lol

me too....

although, I was all about pinch hitting Rowand in the 10th(i think?) when there were runners on 1st and 2nd and 2 outs and Frank ended up popping out =X

shit. COME ON D-HERM

AFISDAFHLSABVLDSAFH WHY IS SHINGO STILL IN THERE??? SAJFKDSAJHFADSHFLDSAFADK

Texas Rangers pitcher Kenny Rogers could face assault charges after shoving two cameramen Wednesday, sending one to the hospital in a videotaped tirade that included throwing a camera to the ground and threatening to break others.

:lol :lol :lol oh man

Yeah, it's all over our news (the big top story :lol). What a fuckin' dumbass. And this is after he broke a bone in his non-pitching hand after hitting a cooler. WHAT A MAN!!!

Kenny Rogers is an asshole. Typical bully. One of the other players should have ran up while he was picking on that little cameraman and clocked his ass.

Prior, Zambrano, Wood: best major league pitching trio!

We are finally seeing the fruits of a healthy staff! I foresee a huge winning streak coming up for the Cubs soon!

Why are Rangers's players always getting into scuffles with people in the stands or whatnot. Fucking losers. Btw, isn't Roger's something like 40 years old? WTF is he throwing temper tantrums for?

They are good, I'll give you that but it doesn't beat Clemens, Oswalt and Pettite. Have you seen them pitch this year? If our offense wasn't so anemic they'd all be having cy young calibur seasons.

It's gonna come down to Ensberg vs Ramirez for the last 3B spot. Rolen's getting voted in, and Glaus is going in as the backup automatically. If they take a 3rd, it's gonna be one of those two.

why is Glaus automatic?

I foresee the Cubs winning the NL Central division title and finishing ahead of the White Sox by the end of the year. Call it a gut feeling. :D

43 % of the Sox wins are by 1 run, many of those against kansas city, detroit, and cleveland when they were under .500. These things have a way of evening themselves out at the end.

John smoltz, mike hampton, and tim hudson disagree! >:o

Prior vs Smoltz next week. I expect another 2-0 Cubs win.

.

The last two games against Detroit prove the White Sox are more lucky than good this year. It'll be interesting to see how this non hitting team can stack up against 3 studs in a playoff series!

Charlie's magic ball predicts.....

Mark Prior will go in the DL in 3 weeks time

Buehrle, Garland, and Garcia beg to differ.
maybe the teams' respective records will help settle this. you think?

and last I heard, the good teams win the close games.....

sure.

Smoltz, Hampton, Hudson (18-11): 263.0 IP, 84 ER, 162 K, 23 QS
Zambrano, Prior, Wood (11-6): 197.1 IP, 82 ER, 201 K, 20 QS
Clemens, Oswalt, Pettitte (20-17): 328.0 IP, 88 ER, 258 K, 39 QS

EDIT: for Eminem-

Buehrle, Garland, Garcia (29-7): 333.2 IP, 113 ER, 201 K, 34 QS

best in each category bolded

And don't try to bring in a team record into a comparison of pitching staffs.

also, i'm about to go on a 4 day bender in a different state...so i will be away no matter what we do.

god speed. i love you all

W/QS
Atlanta: .782
Cubs: .550
Astros: .513
CWS: .850

Guess which teams are doing well?

ERA
Atlanta: 2.875
Cubs: 3.744
Astros: 2.414
CWS: 3.05

Astros easily have the best threesome and by far have the best one two punch with Oswalt and Clemens, just like last year.

Why get 7ish ERA's out of overpaid vets when you can get it out of rookies for a lot cheaper?

Proctors great at striking out three batters to end an inning (with about 4-5 runs sandwiched in between).

Not too sure about Bean.

Well, Stanton was finished for sure, but Balls Quantrill actually protected his players. If Torre didn't burn him out last year via overuse, he still might be effective this year. :(

Oh shit methinks Dusty thinks 2 wins is enough for this series! Look at the lineup card he is putting out for todays game:

1) Jerry Hairston, 2B
2) Corey Patterson, CF
3) Derrek Lee, 1B
4) Aramis Ramirez, 3B
5) Michael Barrett, C
6) Jason Dubois, LF
7) Ronny Cedeno, SS
8) Jose Macias, RF
9) Greg Maddux, P
