Wins don't matter against bad teams if you don't blow them out and dance while doing it.
Yeah you just have to win.

He really is.

Also, Chandler is easily the best center Dirk has ever played with. They complement each other perfectly, and Chandler is our leader on defense just as Dirk is on offense.

But the Mavs still need a consistent perimeter scorer/slasher to have a chance in the playoffs. Butler clearly can't be that guy. He's more like a 3b.
Butler has been fine. Isn't he shooting over .400 from 3 this season? i was watching him recently, and he's better than you give him credit. Marion however, is not, he's lost a step of pace and that's killing him.

Do you think this is really all his fault? I think a huge amount of it has to fall on the fact that your GM has a limited understanding of basketball. I mean, mr. real estate hires a coach to run the triangle because hey, that's what those good championship teams do. He then proceeds to show he has absolutely no understanding of it by never getting a wing creator to run it through and instead blows all his draft picks & MLEs on a billion point guards, probably the most irrelevant position in the system.

The triangle's something that's only been shown to work in very specific circumstances, the roster really needs to be tailored towards it, but he hasn't done that at all. I guess it's easier to change the coach because Ricky Rubio's not gonna change things the way they are, but it doesn't seem fair to blame Rambis when he's been put in a situation where it's impossible to make his system work.

It's as much on Rambis, if you don't have the roster for the triangle, then why forcefully try to run it? it was like the 76's with EJ.

Khans not been great, but he's not been bad. You can only say he's finally been horrible if rubio flops. Most of his other decisions have been ok.

Well, Rambis was hired after the 09 draft, but I agree that Kahn sucks, too. After all the turnover he's done, point guard is our weakest position (and Jonny Flynn ain't fixing anything), the team's best (and only true) shooting guard is Wayne Ellington, and the whole "plan" hinges on Ricky Rubio being a star.

But Kurt Rambis definitely deserves to get the axe. I've harped on it a lot, but it boils down to the fact that he's too damn stubborn to play to the strength of the team. Forget your obtuse offense and go to war with the army you have.

38% on threes. Main problem with Butler is he can't finish at the rim at all, he shoots 47% on inside shots which is terrible. He's basically a mid-range jumpshooter and we don't need that that badly when we already have Dirk and JET on this team. Marion has actually been playing much better, he's a lockdown defender and he scores mainly on close shots and putbacks.

If we could just combine Butler's jumpshooting with Marion's hustle and inside scoring we'd probably have the perfect SF.

Nice to see we already have some pre-game meltdowns. :lol

Anyway, this game is gong to be hilarious either way. If the Heat win and dramatically, they will have crossed over that line from everyday villainry to cartoonish super villainy.

If the Cavs win, it will be the ultimate humiliation for Bron Bron in possibly the biggest televised regular season match ever.

So it doesn't matter who loses, we all win. :lol

Worst-case scenario would be a close Heat victory in which LeBron is very generous with the ball with Big Z hitting the game winner.

The year before he played there, huh? Man, I flew in a plan the SAME YEAR that 9/11 happened! I'm used to terrorists on my flights. I strolled through East LA the the SAME NIGHT someone was murdered there. I'm not afraid of any dark alleys in rough neighborhoods now.

anybody catch the presser with lbj n wade, think it was after the detroit game, where they ask lebron about his feelings going into cleveland... then dwade says some bullshit about new family and we love him n all this crap... fucking cringe worthy i had to change the channel cuz it sounded so damn corny. damn...
when did wade become such a bitch, its just so sad.

they all talk so lame during pressers and interviews. bosh and lebron especially.

lebron - "i didn't go to college"

lurker post but had too, i cant be the only one who feels this way when i see them in interviews

This is my worst case scenario:

Cavs get blown by 27. LeBron sits for most of the 4th.

And if the heckling is really bad, I could see him going to the locker-room. However that would be lol-worthy. :lol

For me, it's all about the crowd. If they do their job, even a blowout could be entertaining.

Oh no, team comradery, how horrible...

Man getting perma'd really drove Absinthe insane.
He posts on Bobcats boards from time to time.

He always makes sure to let everyone know he's a Mavs fan too. :lol

This Jordan documentary is legit. Is it only on in Canada?

Great prelude to the main event. They even played the "Maybe you should rise" commercial :D

It is, because if we don't play lights out, I have to listen to crap from you guys
This is NBA-age, where Bobcats > Lakers > NBA > Bobcats.

There'll always be crap here.

Wait, wat?

So let me get this straight, the main reason you want to win is so you don't get crap (from faceless people you have never met) on a messageboard?

:lol

That's the funniest shit I've read here today, including Hunter's meltdown.

Mavs-age never acknowledged Absinthe as a full-fledged member.

AirBrian is pushing it as it is, but Absinthe claimed to like about 5 teams.

A Jazz fan too? Poor guy :(

Let's just say Absinthe was the greatest of all NBA-age joke posters. Unfortunately he met the wrath of Dragona in an unrelated thread.

That's almost as funny as the one Knicks fan (forgot who) admitting that my trolling hurts his feelings.

seems like a win-win either way, cavs win than it's great because it make lebron look bad, heat start blowing them out than the fans will probably go nuts

worst case scenario is a close game throughout with the heat winning by single digits
