He's European, haven't you heard, he must be terrible on the defensive end...

People already saying Arenas should start? Because what the Magic's starting 5 should do is add another chucker? Hedo needs the ball to create offense, Dwight is their first option, Richardson needs to be set up...

But oh well, what can you do, he has spurts in which he shoots the ball well. He must be starting over a real PG.

Rather have Arenas chucking then Nelson, Gilbert was once an elite player in this league.

Magic look really good right now.

I can't remember that last time the opposition took more 3s against the Magic than they did themselves at the half. :lol

GAF, yay or nay: Orlando's new black jerseys.

I think they're pretty good.

I don't think those are new...

Yeah and so was Jermaine O'Neal. What's your point?
A big with annually wrecked knees who's game is primarily based on athleticism isn't the same as a combo guard who's been stuck to the bench because of mismanaged injury situations and off the court issues.

What was your point of saying Orlando needs another chucker in the starting five? Obviously if Gilbert starts Nelson comes of the bench, use your head a minute.

Whoops meant Anderson.

They said they understand the size issue and are in progress of addressing it. But I really don't know who they can give up without losing depth to acquire a legit backup big.

Isn't anyone even on the market right now?
Free agency?

I really don't know who they could pick up.

When was Gilbert's last true season? 2007? Sorry, it's been too long. Of course he's much better than JO but he's not the same player at all. He's a perfect fit to be a great 6th man as it balances out their needs, but people just think of it like they play NBA 2K. Stack the 5 with the scorers!

But with a headcase that plays on xbox live, a 40% chucker who is more flash than substance, I should expect gaf to be biased...

Well, can't complain with a 9-point deficit with the Magic on fire like that. Charles is gonna talk up a storm at halftime and that will be painful though.

I just want this game to stay close till the end. I'll take my chance with Manu v. Hedo in crunch time. As long as we are within 5 with 4 minutes left, I'm happy...can't expect much more without our MVP on the tail-end of a b2b on the road.

The thing that a lot of people don't get is that sometimes (I'm tempted to say most), an extended break from the wear and tear of a long regular season can be the best thing for a player. Paul Pierce, Wade, hell even Vick... guys sat down for a while and all of a sudden they don't look like the lingering, nagging injuries will consume them at any minute.

And for fucks sake, damn near every player in the league is on xbox live. Its 2010, get the fuck over it old man.

I'm not that old :)
Just remembering the time he had his blog, I'm sure he made tons of fans among geeks like that.

Looking forward to the second half, I wonder if the Spurs D will turn up a notch. I want to see who gets money time shots for the Magic now.

I miss happy gil of the past, but I think that part of him is dead (until he starts to win again). That was a loooooong time ago though.

Yeah, NBA jerseys in the mid-90s were incredible turrible. Like half the league had pinstripes.

Fixed.

Let me jog your memory.

Is it just me, or are the refs horrrrrrrible this game? Orlando's getting jobbed, so many weak fouls getting called the Spurs' way. Its almost as bad as a Heat game

Well I am happy such an experienced watcher of NBA basketball is giving his opinion. Really helps illuminate my perspective of the game.
