Can't wait for the Seattle Hornets in 2012
Lenny Wilkens wants the NBA back in Seattle.
"Yeah, I've been talking to some people that I know,'' Wilkens said in a telephone interview Tuesday, but said he wasn't at liberty to identify others involved in the effort to bring hoops back to Seattle.

Regardless of whether it's an expansion or an existing team, Wilkens said it's clear what it will take for an NBA return after Seattle's 41-year run ended with the move to Oklahoma City.

"We've got to get a building first,'' Wilkens said of a replacement for antiquated Key Arena. "Nobody is going to come if we don't have a building.''

Wilkens is working toward getting that done.
Let's hurry this up, Seattle, so Oklahoma City doesn't have to play in the Northwest division anymore.

I guess the winning makes everyone turn a deaf ear. Before Lebron the biggest "star" in this town as I was growing up was Bernie Kosar. I bet 80% of the people in this thread never even heard of him.

Side arm throwing Miami Hurricane? Who hasn't heard of him? Cle has teams in every major sport don't make it sound like they are a minor league only town. lol

Also Bernie is broke.. :(

Thats probably the hold up, wizards want to get rid of him, magic don't want him.
I can see this... I can't imagine Blatche surviving in Orlando's system. If done properly this deal could benefit both teams though.

For real. If you flip those Bernie percentages around it'd be more accurate. Who follows sports and doesn't know who Bernie Kosar is?

Sounds like a bit of gamble for Orlando. They were sitting pretty for Deron/CP3... I guess they don't feel like waiting.

Blatche and SVG would be hilarious together though.

CP3 won't have knees by the time the Magic have cap space. Deron's on a really good team as well. It would be extremely risky to have that be the plan moving forward. Though Arenas is probably more risky.

I guess my point was that Bernie was the "Lebron" of Cleveland back in the 80's. To outsiders at the time Kosar was just a decent NFL QB. Lebron was the first "real" superstar of the modern era that had the worlds attention.

For real. Steve Balmer wants in I know.. so the money is there..
Now that it's been so many years since financing the Mariners and Seahawks new stadiums, getting an arena built seems a lot more feasible. Or I hope anyway. Seattle deserves an NBA team.

*Just not the Wolves.

Maybe if Orlando gets a a pick out of the deal, I could see it making more sense.

Bernie was the LBJ of Cle?

lawl..

Manny, Belle, CC , Mark, Brad? Cle has had playoff success in all sports to a degree.. In the 90s the Indians went to the World Series twice and all you got is Bernie?

Wolves as much as I clown them for the McFail era, seem like they have a great fanbase..

So orlando should get Arenas and a certain top 5 pick, for vince, orton & filler?

Uhhhh i can't see the wiz doing that.

Vince and Wall together would be like AI and Jerry Stackhouse part 2 but worse

oh wow i didnt know roys knee was THAT bad

apparently they cant even perform surgery on it anymore, cos its so fucked?

thats rly sad

The Wizards can't really afford to give up any valuable picks at this point.
I know. But with the pieces listed, the whole thing seems kind of 'off'.

Wizards do need personnel though. With some real shooters, Wall's life will get a lot easier.

The Browns OWN this town....until Lebron came here. The Cavs and Indians have always fought over the number 2 spot and the Browns leaving town actually helped both organizations. Mark Price is my favorite Cleveland sports athlete of all time by the way and wish he was recognized more. Only people that live in Cleveland will make any sense of what I am saying so unless you have lived here please stop trying to play "Mr. Cleveleand Sports Know it All"

Lebron was the hometown kid that was going to lead Cleveland out of sports misery so anything negative about our savior was blown off. What can I really say? All you haters knew what he was about, but winning 60 plus games and having a shot at a title each year made us Clevelanders oblivious. Its sad to think that if Lebron actually "cared" as much as someone like Mo Williams the Cavs would be going for a 3 peat now. Fuck Lebron, I hope tomorrow is the worst day of his life.
Good post.

Eh. Basketball will always be ancillary to the Wild and Vikings, but when the team is winning, the support is there. Although the crowds this season have been better than Kurt Rambis deserves.

He had surgery on it back in, was it may? they usually don't like to operate on knee's more than once every 12 months. He may just need to wait.

he had bad knees in high school.. and going to Portland, which seems to have the worst, medical staff on the planet I mean really do they import their medical staff from Somalia, was the kiss of death for his knees.. I hope he recovers..

Just saw Thabeet make a Field Goal. Add it to Kobe's 81/ Shaq Triple-Double on the list of Rare Basketball Feats i've witnessed.

They'd still be terrible as a team, but yeah...

I was really thinking about how Lewis might be able to do his own thing again.

Come on man. Even if the traditional media thought Mo' and Posey were good signings, anyone with sense knew they were way past being anything more than occasional contributors. Two bad signings that ESPN hypes due to guys having solid names = not help. You can make that three guards, by the way. Ariza is right there with them. David West was underrated, until he was overrated, and now he's just about properly rated. He's an alright big with a good shot. He is a loooong way from being a solid number two. Okafor...I mean, dude? Emeke fucking Okafor? You know how people always say "there's more to the game than offense" when they criticize 'Melo? Well, there's more to the game than above-average defense. And this would be the first I've heard of any real tension between Collison and CP3.

The best player CP3 has played with has been David West. David West. Paul has been turning nickel alloy into silver for his entire career. Maybe it's not gold, but the shit he was handed sure isn't silver.
You could essentially replace CP3 with Lebron and Hornets with Cavs and you have the same "he doesn't have any help!" cries. It gets old. If they don't make the playoffs this year, it's on Paul. So far, in my eyes, Paul has not really made any players all that much better, West is the only one you could argue for but we don't truly know since he has not played without Paul.

yeah steve kerr is talking about this on the bs report, totally forgot about the whole thing with him playing last year despite undergoing surgery eight days earlier in the playoffs

and now they claim that its unrelated to this problem

smh @ portland's organisation

Fucking hell.. just relax Mr. I have lived here so no way someone else can know about Cle sports than I who named myself after another team from Washington city...

I have family from there.. They didn't seem to be huge Bernie fans before LBJ got there. Cle fans seem as fickle as any other major sports city, when the team is rolling they come out an support and when they suck they support but it waviers.. I know the Dog Pound are really off the hook and come out no matter what.. but just was saying Cle has had talent roll through before..

:lol i'm glad you're in on the "blatche is a cancer" bandwagon:lol
I've always been on that bandwagon, it's just become even more egregious of late. Way too many Wizards fans always defend him too. "B-b-but that talent" "still only 24" "knows how to score" "just not familiar with the system" "give him some more time." STFU, he should've been permabenched like two years ago.

Paul's best 'help' is an anydaynow David West. His next best player is an Okafor. After that he's got Ariza and a 1st year coach.

You call that help?

Mo Pete and Posey were old and busted when they got there too... stop hatin

LBJ a 6'8" beast of a man had those same cries every year when he was in Cle...
