i hope the heat and the knicks keep their winning streaks going til friday

I'm convinced that 100+ isn't worth it for shitty tickets.

I will also probably change my mind in the next few days...

DEM MORAL VICTORIES
  • Outscore the Heat in the 1st quarter
    small_checkmark.jpg
  • Lose by 15 or less 21 point loss, but it never really felt like a real blowout.
  • Commit 20 turnovers or less
    small_checkmark.jpg
Only 11 turnovers! I said "wow".
  • Hold either Wade or LeBron to under 20 points Wade: 36 pts, LeBron: 25 pts. Failed miserably.
  • Hold the Heat to under 50% from the field and 3pt line 51.9% FG - 50% 3PT. Almost, but not quite
  • Play Carl Landry for no more than 10 minutes 16 minutes. He showed some signs of life, so I'm ok with this one.
  • DeMarcus Cousins picks up no more than 3 fouls (that, or tries to take less than 3 charges)
    small_checkmark.jpg
3 fouls. Didn't try to take a single charge. YEAH BABY!
  • Tyreke takes no more than 5 isolation off-the-dribble jumpers
    small_checkmark.jpg
I counted a couple, but he mostly palyed to his strengths this game. SIT HIM DOWN ALREADY
  • Kings shoot +40% from the field or 3pt range (preferably both) 36.7% FG - 33.3% 3PT. Expected :(

I liked that we forced Spo to keep the Big 3 in for pretty much the whole game. And we were never down by anymore than 23 at one point, keeping it under blowout range most of the time! :D

Bosh, wade & lebron should've been pulled 3 or four minutes ago. Rest them, have them ready for the hornets on Monday instead of all this stat padding.
sadly at this stage playing the hornets is pretty much resting your guys

I am falling in love with the NBA. There are so many acts of extreme athleticism and individual greatness on every night than any other sport. I find myself watching more pro basketball and NBA TV and less of every other sport and am enjoying following this thread a lot.

Having the Thunder in OKC and getting a chance to watch what I am convinced are the greatest athletes in the world play in person is really special.

I probably dont know a quarter about the game as most of you and won't be trying to act like I do but just wanted to express my appreciation for this beautiful sport.

PS: the college shot clock feels like an eternity now.

He doesn't post much. How long has he been lurking?

I really only started following the thread and made my first post around the beginning of January.

Cool. I didn't even know there was an NBA GAF until this past summer. :lol

I'd been posting over at GameFAQs before that. -_-

me either, i found out about it right around the decision

Easily the biggest sports thread year round.

Arguably the biggest community within GAF.

I'm still shocked that Ninja got banned. I really thought that he just couldn't be banned due to some technicality in the TOS.

Hey folks, haven't posted here in a few but just wanted to say screw Bynum for waiting so long to get surgery, thereby making Gasol play so many minutes and being one reason the Lakers are sucking.

Also, Congrats to Knicks Age, you guys are playing well. I'm hoping that you get Melo soon as well. Will be good to have another team besides the Celts that will defeat the Heat in the playoffs.

Best sport in the world imo. Definitely the most fun to watch.

Ya don't say.

Imo, basketball loses points for generally needing to be a genetic freak to play at a competitive level. With soccer, it doesn't matter if you're 5'6" or 6'6" as long as you have the needed skill and coordination, you can play at the high levels. The same can't be said for basketball.

But I do agree, basketball is the most entertaining team sport that has individual stars. With soccer, baseball, and football, most star players have a far less impact and presence in a game per possession compared to basketball. With basketball you can regularly see individual talent showcased on almost every play but still within a team setting. And because they're genetic freaks, they're able to do certain things with ease like dunking the ball, which 95% of the general population will never be able to do. So yeah, it does almost seem like you're watching super-humans, especially when you see them play in person.

My only consolation is that they will have terrible knee and back issues in their 40s. Take that genetic freaks.

I think another reason basketball should get kudo points over other major sports is because of how difficult of a game it is to play correctly. It requires so much skill and mental awareness in so many different areas compared to other sports.

I've watched people over the years play various sports from Badminton to Hockey, but I've always noticed that most of them had the hardest time picking up basketball if they had never played it at a very early age. I've seen 6'4 guys have trouble making simple lay-ups... And don't even get me started on the dribbling, traveling and over-carries. ugh

Basketball is a really difficult sport to play the right way. And the people we watch every night make it seem soooo easy. And it just isn't.

:lol I guess it's also because I thought Gaming Side was this website. Had no idea that there was such a large, almost completely separate community in Off-Topic.

What are you talking about, man? I thought it didn't matter? All that matters is Playoffs. Playoffs, baby. Bynum can probably just chill until June if he wanted to, even if he's healthy.

Right? :D

In essence this is 100% true. However... we're still fans of the Lakers and we're still fans of basketball. So we'd like to watch our favorite team play the god damn game right as much as possible for our amusement.

And... they haven't been doing that lately.

If it weren't for the fact that the Off-Topic board gets shutdown every May for E3, I'd totally forget there is a gaming forum. So yeah, the communities are almost completely separate. Though the Gaming side is usually the entry point. Then the straights are scarred off into the OT board.

*Raises hand*

I got a year ban for voicing my opinion on a subject that was apparently taboo. I would be fine with that.. had this particular subject been in the fucking TOS. But it wasn't. So basically I would have had to been a day by day gaming side regular to realize I was even making a very simple mistake.

A simple warning would had sufficed too. I would have never made the mistake again. Fuck the gaming side. Fuck it up it's snooty ass.

I predict another Lakers loss to the Nets tonight. Guys are looking ancient out there, kinda like the Spurs last year.

Except the Spurs weren't coming off two consecutive championship runs.

The Lakers have looked very geriatric the past several weeks, but as long as they can finish the regular season strong and secure at least a 3 spot in the playoffs, they should be okay. Boston showed last year that for championship caliber teams with vet players, the regular season can be deceiving if there's injuries/fatigue.

That said, the West is more competitive than the East, so the Lakers will need to get their shiznet sorted out sooner.

I can't predict anything until Gasol stops logging long minutes.

I will predict that this game (like all the others this season vs. sub .500 teams) will be a LOT harder than it should be.

Not long..

Lesson to the NBA GAF don't post in gaming like you are in here..

Blackface bit it too...

It's amazing the NBA is as entertaining as it is with the huge lack of parity in the league and a narcissistic dicksneeze like David Stern in charge.

And no way we lose to the Brooklyn Farmars. No fucking way.
R-right, guys?... right? =/
