I honestly thought Jameer and Dwight would be attached at the hip for the rest of their careers. What a twist of events.

Meer is the Magic's second best player though...I don't know what they accomplish in trading him.

edit: oh maybe just a realgm rumor? who knows...

Nelson was hurt and Hedo was the primary ball handler.

What if they start Arenas but use him as a shooter instead of a ball handler? Then Hedo could be the starting point-forward and Jameer could handle it while he's on the bench.

This is complicated. Who's going to handle the rock in crunch time? This is not the same team that went to the Finals at all.

Yeah, you're right. If they don't use Hedo as a ball-handler he'll be just as (in)effective as he was in Toronto and Phoenix though.

This is going to interesting. I just want to see the lineups they roll out if Dwight gets 2 quick fouls or in foul trouble through out the season.

No Gunbert's coming off the bench. Nelson, JRich, Hudo, Bass and Dwight.
Arenas off the bench on a team that has a chance of winning will be hell. He will be a terror behind the scenes if he isn't starting.

I think he may be just as ineffective anyway. He dropped off in more ways than just his motivation to win.

I love RealGM sometimes.
So, aspiring GMs, now you know.

If you're not sure a player is worth a large contract, let him get a big deal on another team, make sure he underperforms as you feared, then trade for him 2 years later.

At the very least, the Magic did get bigger and are way more potent on offense. Gunbert can still get 30, Rashard can barely score 15 points nowadays.

So..

Nash/Dragic
Vince/Pietrus
Grant Hill/Dudley
Gortat/Frye/Warrick
Lopez

Really interesting lineup. Worse offense better defense than before. Much better rebounding.

Hm.

Gortat can barely play the 4, he wont see much time there at all.

The trade returns former Magic star Hedo Turkoglu, along with Jason Richardson and Earl Clark, to Orlando in exchange for Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, a 2011 first-round pick and cash considerations.
Godfuckingdammit. Gortat and Earl Clark dealt.

Why the fuck are people suggesting for Gil to come off the bench?

Jameer is TRASH. Trash. He's proven to be a bitch in the post season. When the Lakers came to play and Jameer came in over Rafer Alston it was a clear downgrade, and he looked soft in the playoffs the year after that. He basically started playing like a bitch when Rondo started styling on him.

ARENAS
J-RICH
Turkoglu
BASS
D12

The CLEAR starting lineup. Duhon falls out of the rotation, Jameer and J-Red as a potent bench backcourt. It works.

Gil and Turkoglu work something out in terms of who handles the ball. Gil worked on playing off the ball this year, it would work great for Turk to handle the ball and hit J-Rich who has been a great shooter and has shown great movement off the ball, or Arenas as well. Or you...well...ya know, let him play his natural position, who has had to play with the most unfriendly assist players in the league in Caron Butler, Andray Blatche, and Jamison for the majority of his career.

Get out of here with Jameer starting. Horrible idea.

Think so? I think thats what PHX is trying to do. I doubt they want to start Frye.
I don't think they want Frye starting at center, but as a 4, they can get away with it. I think they go Nash/Carter/Hill/Frye/Gortat.

Without roids he was just a tall guy and pretty much sucked but DAMMIT he was at least MY tall guy who sucked.

I'll miss you Roidshard LewRich. :(

Shard used those roids up the year they lost to the Lakers and it shows.

And Jameer decided to join up in the playoffs that year. He can say he was injured all he wants but he looked the same a year later against the Celtics.

Arenas is not a defender, but with D-12 behind him I like him better than Jameer on both sides of the floor with his 6-4 frame. The key that makes the trade work to me though is J-Rich, who is going to bring the fire.

Holy crap, the Suns make out like bandits in that trade. Otis has gone full retard.

Apparently the Magic turned down Kevin Martin for Gortat as well, that's probably a smart decision.

Hey Houston, we have a center available...

Well I don't see the point of the trade then. If they don't wanna play two rebounding bigs at once, then why get Gortat. Sure, it gives you more depth but not enough to give away J. Rich. Besides, I think the Suns are best with Lopez on the court and not starting him would be unwise.

Lopez/Gortat seems superior to a small ball lineup imo; both of them can run the floor so I don't see why not.

What? Jameer is pretty good. Sure, he hasn't proven himself in the playoffs, but I don't know where you get the idea that Gil would be any better.

lol @ Gil and Turk working out something in terms of handling the ball. Funny.

That lane is going to be crowded as fuck with Gortat/Lopez starting together.

Gil is trying to pull a Kobe and get his Adidas contract back. He's so sick of the media here in Washington. He's going to do two things once he goes to Orlando: First thing will be to give Otis a blowjob, second will be to do whatever the fuck he tells him to do.

Although I think a mental disease may come back if he's forced to sit on the bench and let midget Jameer continue to let guys like Fish and Rondo style all over him.

We know your biased because your a wizards fan. just try to not make it so obvious. Jameer is playing great this year

I think all we have really concluded is how much we don't know :lol

Can't even decide on the starting lineups. Really hard to say how this trade will pan out.

This is Phoenix we're talking about. It was a salary dump.

Yeah..losing Turk has benefits of its own.

Though, shit, they could have just not signed him and saved themselves all this trouble.

Did Jameer kill your dog? What the hell. Gilbert's gonna run hogwild with the bench squad anyway.

Magic are at such a risk if this Gil+Turk thing doesn't work. 2 huge 4 year contracts. Locks them up financially for years to come...

And lets be honest, in all likelihood, that backcourt wont work....

Their contract situation was already terrible. They weren't going to have cap space for three years before the trade, and now they won't have cap space for four years. They did give up their shot at Deron though so that's pleasing to know.

Gilbo has a renegotiation the year Dwight becomes an FA. If Otis is truly his mentor, he'll listen to everything he says and take less cash.

I still don't get how no depth behind Dwight is going to work. It's not like everyone around him is good at D. Him getting in early foul trouble in the playoffs looks like suicide on the boards and defensively. I guess we will see.

If the Magic play the Lakers/Celtics, they likely have to match up Ryan Anderson, Daniel Orton, or Earl Clark vs. Bynum/Shaq for 8-12 minutes a game :lol

It's not like beating the Celtics was ever a possibility. Only team that might have a shot at that is the Lakers.

If the Magic eliminate Bron Bron...it's a victory.

Arenas for Shard deal is now complete! Not sure if the worst and second worst contracts in basketball have ever been traded for each other.
