Branduil :lol

But uh... yeah, 1pt over a team with Nick Young as its best player should have you more concerned than anything else. 3pt shot by Bosh? cmon son
Yeah, this game was a total moral loss. I posted when the game went final basically saying the same thing, I can't really be happy after we played so terribly, and even down the stretch needed a few lucky bounces to beat the Wizards. Also, Nick Young was stylin on us, which should never happen.

The only person I put down was Branduil, and it wasn't because he was discussing the Heat's offense. Re-read the thread please.
Even though Branduil has gone full retard (because he knows the Mavs are going to get smacked in the first round again), he still made a more than valid point. Miami still has no offense to speak of. Most nights they don't even try. So far, the regular season has proven to reinforce these bad habits instead of becoming a time where they can actually learn to be a true cohesive unit - which is going to be especially important for a team like Miami who started off well behind the curve.

Not every player can score 20 points man. That's not how it works. Each of those role players I mentioned are averaging about 7-8 points a night. That's easily over a 95 a night.

And when you have the number one stats in defense, that's more than enough.

Except when the Czzz shut down 2 of their big 3 and the other role players are expected to make up the difference.

It's no mistake that in both games that the Czz manhandled the Heat this year, they allowed the same guy to get around 30 points while closing shop on the other two.

How is a 101 point per game average, "no offense to speak of"? It's not a fluke after 30 games.

All I gotta say is, we'll see.

Yeah, but bosh was completely lost on the offense and wade was hurt for the first month of the season. I'm not sure those samples are good ones.

You make it so hard to like you.

This was a troll. I like Rose.

And we have OT after the airball by RJ.

Because it has failed when they face a team that takes away 2 of those options. The amount isn't the only detail to pay attention to, how you score is also important.

A soft frontline, suspect rebounding and one wing scorer won't get it done against the Elite teams in the playoffs. Indiana? Sure. Washington? Sure. Boston?

Not so much.

Minnesota is averaging 102 PPG this season. Kurt Rambis is their coach.

Talk to Rodeo Clown about the T-Pups offense.

Can't really disagree with this post, although I would say that we have gotten better defensively, and our defensive role players DO try really hard- see James Jones and Anthony. Our offense does worry me, but I do still think that its gotten better (when we run, its a lot smoother than it was in the earlier stages of the season, wade/bron are actually doing SOMETHING off the ball, and Bosh is actually getting more involved offensively: pick and roll, driving to the hoop etc)- how much its hard to tell, we take nights off like tonight, and that recent cavs game at home, but I guess the Mavs on Monday will be an interesting metric.

On this Heat offense thing, some of you are out of your minds. Miami isn't going to lose games because they can't score. Running no offense != not being able to score and they've proved that so far.

It is defense and rebounding that does them in. Go watch all their losses. Even the games where they scored under 80 pts were single-digit losses

Right but go look at Minnesota's defensive statistics compared to the Heat. The game isn't all offense.

I think I don't need to dig those stats out to make my point.

EDIT:

Absolutely, the rebounding has killed them. If you look at tonight's game, they were out rebounded by Washington (the worst rebounding team in the league). If you guys were to make that point, I would have no objections.

They have three scorers, they don't have a good offense. There's a BIG difference there. There's no team offense going on, it's just "oh, it's your turn to jack one up" and that's about it. A team with good team defense could very easily send the Heat to an early fishing trip in the post season.

This is why it is important to factor in pace by comparing teams per 100 possessions.

Minnesota
Off Rtg: 104.3 (21st of 30) ▪ Def Rtg: 111.7 (27th of 30)

Miami
Off Rtg: 111.2 (5th of 30) ▪ Def Rtg: 100.1 (2nd of 30)

If you can figure this out, I am sure someone on the Heat has figured it out as well. James will never acknowledge it, and I'm not sure Bosh is actually capable of structured thought. But I have to assume several players, coaches etc... are aware of this issue and will at the very least make a little bit of effort to correct it.

Then again you know what they say when a person assumes.

You must have missed the rest of the game, I wouldn't say the Bulls got the calls for the most part tonight.

As good as Griffin is, he's a total flopper.

And Rose gets calls when they are questionable because the refs never give them to him when they are obvious.

The Bulls played like shit though and the Clippers in the first half played out of their minds with their shooting percentage.

All I see here is, "we had trouble stopping the Clippers and putting them away."

Great second half from the Jazz. Excellent games from Millsap, Elson, and CJ. Really scary when Bogut when down holding his arm. Really fun to watch. Admittedly though, Deron was flopping too much, but he has the flu, so ehh.
