When you look at a perfectly spaced offense like Boston's that adaptable to every playstyle then look at Miami just wing it.... it pisses me off because they could be are supposed to be much, much better. And its got everything to do with guys not even willing to learn or want to be better than they are right now.

Thats my issue.

Also: Haslem ain't coming back (and it wouldn't even matter anyways because Bosh is just an inferior version of Haslem in Miami's playstyle so far) and banking on Mike Miller and James Jones has never worked for any team in the past - why would it work all of a sudden in Miami?

I guess we can agree to disagree. I appreciate a thorough analysis and debate on the issue though. I'm not going to repeat myself as I feel it would be going around in circles. I merely stated "We'll see" as a reference to the next Boston game, because I have a feeling if the Heat play to their full potential against them, there may be a few more believers in this thread.

I understand that this team won't earn respect here until they beat the Lakers, Spurs and yes Boston.

I think it's about time I changed this ole' avatar of mine. ;)
 
Before the season started, I'd have simply shrugged and said "Wade will pick up the slack" but because Lebron has basically downgraded Wade into Super-Barbosa thats never going to happen.

Agree to disagree? DY Nasty is giving you detailed reasons why he believes what he believes. You on the other hand, are clinging to this streak and rattling off "we'll see" all while ignoring the fact that, he's right. The Heat aren't as great as they can be and that has EVERYTHING to do with their stubborness to adapt their games to better suit each other and make themselves a harder cover.

The fact that the 2 Celtics games were basically carbon copies of each other is a bad sign. It shows that, even though they probably looked at tape and saw waht happened in the first game, they were STILL powerless to change the outcome in the second game.

And in the second game, they were missing 2 of their bigs (J'Oneal and Perkins). If they are even remotely healthy in May, Bosh, Joel Anthony and Dampier are gonna get abused by Perkins, ONeal, ONeal, and Baby.

Even the Turkish guy was holding his own against the Heat frontline in the last game they played!

I gave just as many detailed reasonings as DY Nasty on the previous page, I established my viewpoint based on their offense already - I don't think it bears repeating. I believe it will continue to work, and he doesn't, simple as that. I don't know why you gotta attack with such blood-lust against Heat fans. I tried to end the discussion in a civilized manner and yet you continue to antagonize. Nice work.

And you know, I used to love Wade. Love him. But this season, like others have pointed out, his offense really has consisted of baiting the opponent into making slight contact and wait for the refs to blow the whistle.

I know others won't agree with me on this, but at least Lebron tries to create contact or make it difficult to call by bulldozing his way through

This is a far cry from the 2005/2006 guy who slashed and crashed baskets.

I used to see Wade creating loose balls and going after them. This season it's like him and Lebron are just waiting for other people to do the dirty work, and other people are just too clueless or not fundamentally sound

No, you didn't, but whatever...

The only thing you've said about the offense was that they put up a lot of points (like everyone thought they would, but again ppg != offense, especially in such a top heavy league) and "we'll see".

Most 'heat fans' get shit because they generally don't add anything to the discussion. Hell, most think that Tim was the only Hardaway to play for them...

I first broke down the averages of points per players and it's effects on the team and then went into detail into how they have had recent success. I don't really know what more you want from me. You just chose to disagree about what is happening - which is fine. I have no problem with that. There hasn't been a hint of rudeness or anger in my discussion and yet you continue to lambaste with insults. It just makes you look bad.

PPG is not, nor has it ever been, a reflection of efficient scoring or a team's offense. It doesn't show how or where guys get there points and it doesn't show how easy or how hard guys hard to work to achieve those numbers. PPG comes from and is derived from multiple factors aside from putting the ball in the rim. How many of those points came off a turnover? How many of said turnovers were un/forced? What was the pace of the game? How many possessions were there? Etc.

There is more to a game than simple numbers. Its why I said that Felton could put up 18/8 if D'Antoni was content letting him fuck up whenever he pleases - which so far has held true.

But if you want to claim that "penetrate and dish" is the pinnacle of offense and is the key to them reaching Showtime LA status, then I won't bring this up again with you and you can keep on talking about FG% as if that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that blowouts murder that statistics usefulness.

Back to the topic of Miami... there's really no excuse as to why Bosh isn't moving around constantly. They could actually get away with SVG's offense to a degree, but again I think thats asking too much.

I was never all that high on Barnes. I was just as puzzled as you were when he was named an all-american. Still, most UNC fans and college basketball observers in general believe that bad point guard play and two years of poor performance from Roy Williams have a lot more to do with UNC's slump than anything else.

He played well today, but Roy still has him in bad spots for the majority of the game then expects him to bail the team out... I think he's been hanging around LB too much.

We sucked us tonight but damn that was one crazy awesome finish. I was at a sports bar, that place got all into it, great atmosphere. Still we had no business winning that game.

I usually don't ever give up on games, but this one was an exception. By all means, we should of lost.

He'd be a great coach, his team would be up by 75 and shooting 90% from the floor causing turnovers every other possession and having a 5-1 advantage on the boards and he'd curse them out to do better.
