He'd be a great coach, his team would be up by 75 and shooting 90% from the floor causing turnovers every other possession and having a 5-1 advantage on the boards and he'd curse them out to do better.

He'd do better than carlisle, he'd play JJ 10 minutes a game, and never more, only to rest J.Kidd

he'd be cursing them out any time dirk wasn't taking every single shot.

Look what I found a few pages back. What a disgrace, what is this shit.

You gotta understand, here in the NBA-GAF biodome, we inhale carbon dioxide and exhale sulfuric acid.

It's why we're very poisonous when we attempt to inhabit other GAF topics.

That was another one of those weird "if it happened 30 seconds earlier, that would have been a away-from-the-ball foul on Lee" situations.

Everything was a foul in that game, I'm shocked it wasn't called.

Reilo is European and still in his prime. Surely NBA-gaf can get a 2nd round pick out of him.

Does reilo have a post game? How's his Italian? Any past troubles with strippers, techno clubs and gambling?
No. I had an Italian friend growing up. No, no, and no, but give me twelve hours.

Dynasty, I sort of sat out that argument you had with DacingJesus, because I can't really disagree with any of your points. When you watch this team, you can definitely see issues that could cost them in the playoffs against well organized, disciplined teams. However, I don't necessarily buy your point that this team has no chance to make it out of the east. First, defensively, I think you underrate this team. I could throw out numbers, and whatnot, but I don't think that the defensive roleplayers on this team get enough credit. Aside from that, I totally agree with your points about our O, but what I would disagree with you is that I think that we can overpower a good number of teams with what we're running now. I'd say only Boston in the East could beat us as we are. (I still don't understand how you can call our team "weak" though, we've gone into tough crowds in Cleveland and NY and played well. Claiming that ATL could beat us if they had good crowd support makes no sense to me, not sure what you're basing that on.) Furthermore, just because we haven't reached our potential yet, doesn't mean that improvements have not been made. First of all, Bosh HAS been more active- its not saying much, because he literally did nothing before, but he's becoming SLIGHLTLY more active in pick and roll situations, in/out game, etc. Secondly, I've actually been surprised by Wade- he is actually making an effort to change his game to fit this team. Hes developing a post game, hes rebounding, and hes way more active off the ball. I agree that much more needs to be done, and Spo needs to get these guys playing actual offense, but my outlook for the season is way more positive than yours- I guess thats the fan in me.

It is, and thats cool. Most people here still won't put Miami ahead of Orlando (and I agree with those people). I wouldn't consider Cleveland and NY's crowds meaningful at all because those teams are both fundamentally broken on both sides of the court. Unless Amare plays like a MVP, New York has no chance of winning - and if Amare is having a bad game, then they stand no chance of even keeping it close with an above average team. No crowd is going to singlehandedly win a game. Ever. But a solid team (not NY) with balls (not Cle) can beat a better team if the crowd can get behind them... No one with any sense would've bet money on either of those teams to beat Miami.

The reason I still hold out (slim) hope of Atlanta figuring it out is in a way the same reason that you have faith in Miami; its all mental. Mike Woodson is a paper coach. Worthless in meaningful games. Larry Drew's son is a bitch, but there's still a chance that a new coach can give his guys some backbone in the playoffs. Regular season wins don't count for much.

And Bosh's pick and roll game with Miami as it is now is hardly worth mentioning. Miami will never rely on it, and none of their players ever seem to be comfortable running it when its actually being defended. When I said earlier that he should be moving more, I was talking about his placement on the court.... he typically sits and waits for the ball to come to him after LBJ and Wade are through running around making shit up as they go. But on second thought, I highly doubt he has the balls to fight for position for long stretches so just scratch the idea. He should be able to control the paint with his mobility alone, but he's too much of a puss to really work for the ball like that.

Wade is a ways off of the guy he used to be a year ago... thats the real issue. Its not longer two top 5 players and Bosh. Its Lebron, Super-Barea/Barbosa 2.0/sHeat Reke, and Bosh. Enough to run over the many crap teams of the league, but still a ways off of top-tier imo. Orlando trolling the hell out of Miami in the 2nd meeting was kind of red flag too, but thats not something easily argued for either party.

I saw the Bobcats beating Orlando in 6 last year and they would've too if it weren't for a certain WNBA point guard, so I understand the fandom.

Go ahead and get yourself ready for Lakers fans dismissing the game ahead of time though. They haven't cared about a Christmas day game since Shaq was in Miami.

There's another referee on the opposite side, how neither of them saw anything is beyond me.

Heat stun Wizards, win 12th in row

Really?

"It's the law of verticality. He went straight up; I went straight up," said James, explaining the final play. "The Miami Heat getting a break? I don't think so."

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

I agree with most of the Heat sentiments that I'm not going to count anything as fucking real until we do this...in the playoffs. Even if we were to beat the LA and Boston and other shit down in the regular season right now it means nothing. Yeah it's satisfying but for the last 2 years haven't we thought Cleveland was going to run away and then look what happens?

I've had my heart broken in sports too many times to get excited about meaningless wins anymore. I'm saving my energy for when it counts.

I'm not going to assume jack shit about this team because of winning against scrub teams (although I don't care how good or bad, 12 wins in a row is nothing to roll your eyes at) but at the same time Heat detractors should step back and not assume that its already over either. Because we're still in fucking December, yall

At the same time pretty much everyone here is like a cat; whenever a Heat fan besides myself pretty much posts its like everyone suddenly gets jealous and has to start protecting his territory and jump all over because OH NO THE MWO IS HOGGING ALL ATTENTION WAH WAH WAH :( chill the fuck out, people.

oh yeah and how about them NEW YORK KNICKS ARE BACK :lol :lol :lol

i aint even mad that the refs buttfucked the wiz

I'll take dat draft pick and keep it movin. I'll be trollin my hardest when they face elimination though.

Yea Gil looks happy. Hopefully he goes back to the number zero, hibachi, and agent zero tags and just play with that fun and enjoy the fact that the media won't be blasting him over there so long as he doesn't hurt his teammates on or off the court. He can put that shit behind him.

Bosh got overpowered by Hinrich

edit: What I mean is I am surprised that Bosh couldn't even hold his weight against a regular sized PG
Bosh actually wasn’t trying to foul (and didn’t). LeVerticality on the other hand..

Really, Wojnarowski? You think Dwight would sign with the Clippers? Or even the Knicks for that matter considering Amar'e knees will be done a year after Dwight would be able to sign with them?

I know I'm late ,but I just found out about the Orlando trades...A lot of former Golden State Warriors involved...That JRich for Brandan Wright trade sure worked out for GS,huh? I still shake my head about that one...

Heat are practicing stealth fouls. Bosh avoids contact, James goes underneath his arm to make contact. Maybe James meant that combined they were going vertical.

It's hard to find positives when the Wolves are 6-22, with a decent number of those losses on terrible coaching, but Martell Webster is really good. Hopefully Bill Laimbeer starts him.

What about that 43/17 dude? Every time I see the box scores it appears they are incapable of playing defense. They have these 30 something point quarters dropped on them all the time.

Given how badly the Wizards were choking from the line, it most likely would had just gone into overtime.

This. The Wiz had a shit-ton of opportunities to put the heat away. It shouldve never come down to a drive to the hoop with the shot clock off...

I feel rather gross trying to defend that horrible victory.

Kevin Love's greatness goes unstated.

And the defense is scheme related, but Kurt Rambis doesn't think it's a problem. Pack the paint and watch opponents rain 3s all day. Next stop, championship.

And they had another opportunity there when LeBron fouled Kirk but oops, doesn't count lol.

Yup, Heat didn't want that game but the Wizards (specifically Blatche) threw it away about nineteen times. Neither team deserved to win and both should be punished by having one win deducted from their records.

I kind of liked that decision actually, it's refreshing to see a coach who has so little faith in his team that he doesn't even bother trying to initiate a comeback.

He even actively fights against them by subbing out Flynn for Ridnour when the Wolves had all the momentum.

Unfortunately for Rambis, all that built up good will and optimism is fading fast. Another 0-for week here and they're behind last season's pace and he's really in trouble.

That's one of the most blatant fouls I've ever seen.

If it makes you feel any better, in the third quarter a ball was knocked out of bounds clearly by the Wizards and the refs ruled it their ball. Wizards inbound and immediately hit a 3.

That's three points that shouldn't have been on the scoreboard for them.

Wizards had countless opportunities, they fouled Bosh on a three, they got the ball stolen on an inbound pass, and missed 3 foul shots in the final 35 seconds. I don't feel bad about it at all.

Yup, if anything the refs were helping the Wizards out for most of the game. Can't blame this one on the refs even if they fucked up in the final seconds. Too many DUMB AS SHIT PLAYERS.

few things in basketball piss me off more than missed fts, can't imagine how frustrating the end of last night must have been for Wizards fans.

Then I imagine you'll be steamed watching LeBrick clank them during the playoffs.
