No PGs or good bigs out there, at least not anyone that would make an impact. Melo would do so much more for this team on offense, that it would make the defense better even if he doesn't even run to the other end of the court. The offense right now sucks. No effeciency. No creation. You are crazy. Shit will never happen but adding Melo would make this team from WCFinalist to 3peat champion. Dude is a top 10 player in the league for crying out loud what planet are you livingon?

This isn't even about whether or not we can actually swing a fantasy trade for Melo, which I will admit is not likely at all, but the fact that you think Melo would somehow not make this team better and dismiss adding him to the team is hilarious.
 
The Lakers decline has been obvious over the years.

2 years ago: Blow teams out, don't give a fuck on occasion, easily get 1st seed, get blown out in playoff games but blow them out in return, dominate magic in 5 games

Last year: Never blow any teams out in the regular season, get blown out on occasion, Barely get 1st seed, get blown out in a playoff game, get revenge by winning by 5, beat celtics in 7

This year: Get blown out by teams in regular season, don't blow anyone out, ??? (third seed), ??? (blown out many a time in playoffs), ??? (Celtics in 4 over Mavs)

Pau's dissappearence is the main reason we are seeing this. Kobe can't play come ball anymore and la win.

Pretty much this. We run most of the offense through Pau and Kobe. They have to produce at the normal rate for shit to work.

The bench is fine, but we shot 35%. That's the problem.
 
If we lose 4 times in a row twice in one season.... wow. I don't care if it is just the reg season, that's completely unacceptable by a defending championship team.

Period.

I, for one , support the movement for a mercenary Melo future. Lets be real here...a 3peat followed by a rebuild is the best possible option at this point with the way the contract situation is right now.

Problem is...do the nugz want a single thing on this roster?

Too much negativity for the Lakers fans. Their schedule has been brutal. You can't expect to keep stacking up those wins against quality opponents. It's just not feasible.

Raptors got so much fortitude of the testes it's crazy. 6 Deep and they still came through. We've got the grit, we just need some actual talented players and this'll be a basketball organization.

Thanks to this game, i'm down with Triano for the rest of the year. Players haven't quit on him yet.

Only hope is that they have some value in Bynum as a young big, and value that over what NJ and NY are offering. Don't think that is better than NJ if they toss in Favors, but they don't seem to enamoured with what the Knicks are offering. Personally I'm done with him but who knows with the way 7 footers are viewed in this league. Even if Melo resigns, it's a 3 year extension which falls right in line with Kobe and Pau's extensions. It's the perfect move.

I think the real problem is that OUR front office isn't in on Melo (or any other trade). They need to be more proactive and ballsy this season. The "if it ain't broke..." mindset is what lost us a chance at a 4peat in 2003.
 
Mavs basically lost to a D-league team tonight. Carlisle needs to be fired and the players should be fined an amount equal to their paycheck tonight. Utterly inexcusable.

I'm not being negative at all, just pointing out the problem with the Lakers right now. Nothing that can't be fixed.

The Celtics won 50 games last season and were a couple possessions away from winning it all.

3-peat teams historically have bad regularly season records. It just disappointing to see them play this badly when they played so great in the first 15 games of the season.

To be fair I think after the surgery Bynum can have a productive year of 20 and 10 if the O is run through him on a bad team. He will almost certainly break down not long after that...but the talent is there.

Lake show would have to include Barnes to prevent a logjam at the 3.
