2012 High-Res PC Screenshot Thread of Don't Use Imgur

hoping it will be like last time, doom 3 and hl2 both coming out and setting the benchmark high as fuck
I am rooting for them to pull a good "we are id motherfucking software and we will not fade into irrelevance!"

Operation arrowhead.

Great shots. So jelly of your setup. Have you tried going for a higher resolution than 1600p? What program are you using to resize?

Nah, 1600 is more than adequate for great IQ - I'm playing on a 30", so I'm not using any resolution trickery. Then I use Photoshop to resize it down.

Ah, okay. Cool. :)

Now downsampled from 1600p. So good :)
Anyway, no more pics from me, you guys have fun!

Uh, what is up with that dude's trigger finger? Why is the trigger so far away from the handle? Why is he holding a rifle like that? So confused.

Some more Torchlight 2. For a change. First time posting in here, so tell me if I'm doing it wrong.

Fake edit: And goddamn, I think I need to buy Alice. That looks amazing.

Resized from '1600p' and the game is maxed out ( 680 SLI )
OK, what kind of performance are you seeing in Metro?

Metro 2033 and GTA4 are basically the last two games that I just cannot seem to run well. Metro runs so poorly that I feel as if it's broken.

I know you're running a much faster rig, but I would have thought a single GTX580 would be enough for an older game like this. Any tweaks or suggestions? I just can't hold a consistent framerate.

Game is bouncing between 35 and 50 FPS, so I've Vsync locked it at 30 / Half refresh rate and triple buffered it. Runs pretty well but I feel like I'm getting hit by the dreaded Vsync stutter bug from the Nvidia drivers. Game is very much playable but I can't find the right Vsync setting.

Toning down the settings every so slightly nets me a solid 80-100+ then I can lock down but I want to max out this baby, DX11 style.

Ah, OK, so it still struggles even on top end hardware. What's up with this game? It looks great, but I don't think the visuals justify the performance.
