I've had this convo with you before. And i read that huge FGC thread on gaming side about why they refuse to fit into normal "e-sports culture".
A lot of it is absolute bull shit.
A lot of it is a refusal to accept change as it will relinquish power, or see it transferred.
A lot of it is a bunch of immature people who don't want to grow up.
Fact is, sponsors don't want to see their players or tournaments get aligned with people who yell out blatantly offensive things. That's how they get bad press, and slammed in main stream media.
PC Gaming is now, getting toned down a lot more when its in public at a tournament. Because sponsors were withdrawing support due to crowd/fans being offensive. Read the GOMTV.net (one of the largest Korean SC2 leagues). They censor the hell out of the posts because they know sponsors want none of it.
The FGC can whine and whinge all it likes, buts its basically just one big 14year old child who refuses to see sense.
But thats on them, if the pro's and the community want to stall its development, good for them. I don't find it as interesting to watch as many other game.
