Exactly. It's not super clear what you need to do all the time (frequently, even) and it turns into this trial and error grind. Which sucks because the game doesn't give you enough checkpoints, so I'll die and get sent back pretty far. Ugh.

It's a bitch. No one ever talks about that when they bring up how the game is a cult classic and whatnot. Its a huge design flaw and the combat is generally a mess (as well as points where combat is mandatory).

However, the game does shine once you do realize where you need to go. The second time around. Or after you've had your ass kicked so many times that you finally start seeing the code like Neo.
