Try the OP of this thread, the excellent compendium, and the more specific downsampling thread.
I have a 560Ti SOC 1GB and have no problem down sampling natively from 3200x1800 or ludicrous resolutions using SoftTH or other methods...although this is at screenshot frame rates which are not conducive to actual game play! You should be fine with your card.
I said so before, but that AO is amazing. Subtle, but comprehensive, with basically no artifacts or false positives.Assassin's Creed 4

Damn you, Vampire!
Hmmm, thanks for the tip. I'll need to see if I can push my monitor to 3264x1836...although it complains half the time when using 3200x1800 so not sure how much more I can push it. Need a new monitor.Though, word of ADVICE.
When you are downsampling, to achieve optimal results you REALLY want to be only downsampling from resolutions which are a multiplicative factor of your base display resolution.
Say 1600x900 for example. 1.2x X 1.2x = 1920x1080 , 1.6x X 1.6x = 2560x1440 , 2x2 = 3200x1800.
3200x1800 isn't a great resolution to downsample to 1080p from, the better solution is 1.7x X 1.7x = 3264x1836

Heh my first thought was : Are his Dreadlocks on fire ?

Well for me, 3200x1800 works with auto timings.
3264x1836 doesn't, and I'm not patient enough to find custom timings for anything other than 4K xD

How did you remove the HUD?
Yes. these are in game shots .

I feel like that would look really great at native res but it looks like the res you're rendering at has the assets being stretched.
nice shot!
