Try the OP of this thread, the excellent compendium, and the more specific downsampling thread.

I have a 560Ti SOC 1GB and have no problem down sampling natively from 3200x1800 or ludicrous resolutions using SoftTH or other methods...although this is at screenshot frame rates which are not conducive to actual game play! You should be fine with your card.

There is also the thread over on 3DGuru,

as well for Anti Aliasing for Nvidia cards ( I am a big contributor to both)

I have a GTX 570, and I can play many games at 3200x1800+ with other forms of AA on top of it without too much issue. Depending on the game of course.

Though, word of ADVICE.

When you are downsampling, to achieve optimal results you REALLY want to be only downsampling from resolutions which are a multiplicative factor of your base display resolution.

Say 1600x900 for example. 1.2x X 1.2x = 1920x1080 , 1.6x X 1.6x = 2560x1440 , 2x2 = 3200x1800.

3200x1800 isn't a great resolution to downsample to 1080p from, the better solution is 1.7x X 1.7x = 3264x1836

Man, HBAO+ Looks SO GOOD in AC4. I really wish half the driver flags for Nvidia cards were actually working after they changed the driver SSAO to HBAO+. I'd really love to get that quality of AO into other games. (Street Fighter IV, CS:GO are just DYING for it. But neither are working after they changed the SSAO to HBAO+ in 331.40 )

Damn you, Vampire!
Great eye-candy!

Hmmm, thanks for the tip. I'll need to see if I can push my monitor to 3264x1836...although it complains half the time when using 3200x1800 so not sure how much more I can push it. Need a new monitor.

Heh my first thought was : Are his Dreadlocks on fire ?

hehe its actually pretty interesting:

"Blackbeard knew the importance of image in his line of work. Before battle, he would dress all in black, strap several pistols to his chest and put on a large black captain’s hat. Then, he would put slow burning fuses in his hair and beard. The fuses constantly sputtered and gave off smoke, which wreathed him in a perpetual greasy fog. He looked like a devil who had stepped right out of hell and onto a pirate ship and most of his victims simply surrendered their cargo rather than fight him. Blackbeard intimidated his opponents this way because it was good business: if they gave up without a fight, he could keep their ship and he lost fewer men."

Picked up RE4 HD on the 360 when it was on sale for $10 the other day. Game is still fun as hell despite (and maybe partly because of) the archaic controls. And I still think it's beautiful, even with the textures clearly showing their age. Made me wonder if the texture mod community for the PC port is still at all active?

I feel like that would look really great at native res but it looks like the res you're rendering at has the assets being stretched.

Yeah . my mistake . i accidentally re sized these to a higher size then the game was running on.

Here's one at the right size.
