I actually learned to drive in my dad's C4 since he used it as a daily driver.

I still think the C1 is one of the best looking cars ever made. I love the look of them.

I like both Sting Rays and Stingrays.

Of the C4's, the ZR1 has grown on me.

I think the C5 is the worst looking. I hate the rear end on them.

Huh? The C5 was damn good looking in it's day and still looks good today. It has timeless lines that don't heavily date the car, add to that good power and good performance.

C4's are stuck in limbo forever with a design that aged quickly and horribly, uninspired design with performance that was easily outmatched by it's predecessor.

The C4 is the the most undesirable model of Corvette to date and it looks like it will stay that way for a long time.

Can't wait to see this but I am even more excited for the C7.R in the ALMS series next year. Will be going to the Detroit Auto Show again this year so I will see this beast in person.

Part of GM’s plan to make the car more aspirational to younger people includes promoting the Corvette in video games, Perry said. GM worked with Sony Corp. (6758) to make available in November a camouflaged version of the new Corvette in the popular PlayStation 3 video game “Gran Turismo.”

The new version of the Corvette will be available Jan. 14 for the video game, Perry said. The real car reaches showrooms by year’s end.

The Vette has been my dream car since I was a little kid. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the unveiling this Sunday. Also very glad to see that there are quite a few GAFers looking forward to this. Bring the goods, Chevy!

Wow, that's a good look. I'm impressed. The removal of the greenhouse with the new rear "glass" design hopefully looks great when exposed finally, as the glass on the last 3 Vette gens were an eyesore at best.

I'm not a big Vette guy, but going away from the round taillights just doesn't seem right, not a smart thing to do. I mean the rounded lights have been a staple for so long because people loved them. The GT-R for example, was insisted to maintain it's rounded tails and it's a lot less iconic of a car even.

Yeah, I don't really like the move away from the round taillights either, but at least it's still got two on each side.

All this Vette talk got me excited, so I made a little trip to our local (mind blowing) car museum today- they've got 7-8 absolutely stunning Corvettes, mostly C1's and C2's. The 57's grille caught my eye, it's distinctly 50's (the Caddy's have a very similar look), but that C7 shot looks more than a little reminiscent of the original chrome grille corvettes...

There's the tail of a '67 427 on the right... Drool worthy

I learned to drive a manual in my dad's new 2001 Corvette when I was 13 years old. What a great way to learn, I tell ya! Also had an old automatic and restored '72 Vette at the time that was his hobby/weekend car. Corvettes and Camaros have a special place in my heart; too bad a new Vette is out of my price range - by a longshot.

Can it turn this time ? I hope it can turn. It's been so long since I got excited for a Corvette
Joke post.
Vettes have been mediocre to crap since the 80's. I'll try to keep an open mind.
Uh, no. They're great cars. I'd buy one if they weren't so common. And I hope the new models feel smaller.

I see too many Vettes on the road.
If I had 80k to drop on a vehicle is get something less people have.

Probably a GTR or an M3

Never really been a fan of corvettes either, but saying they aren't good performing cars is a bit ridiculous.

M3s are a dime a dozen.

Uh, no. They haven been great since the 60s. Even then it was just a great body design. They have always been mechanical travesties.

lots of people. They can't turn (lol sure buddy), they are mediocre (yeah c6 zo6...what an under performing car...).
Thought you meant I said it lol.
Well the corvettes are great cars, but I just find them boring. Way too many in my city.
Shit my old vice principal back in high school had one

Depends on where you are I guess. Where I live it's Beemers and Mustangs that are a dime a dozen. I don't see any vettes ever pretty much.

True, I see more corvettes tho.

You know what I never see? Lotus. Aren't they in the same price range?

The Elise starts around 40k from what I remember... Could be mistaken though. They're not really in the same market though.

Edit: Lotus also has a very small supply chain. They have hardly any dealerships.
