dude didn't even have to throw it to a player, dude could have thrown the ball all the way to the other side and time would have went out regardless

At least 40 percent of the One Shining Moment clip this year needs to feature the officials standing over a video monitor.

I'm all for calling that....if you call the same stuff all game.

^^ Consistency is the biggest thing in officiating, I don't buy the whole 'let the play at the end of games' thing. I also don't buy the 'call everything super tight at the end of games so you can show off your authority as a ref' thing either.

Well, to be fair, the officials have been consistently inconsistent all game long. These teams have been physical all game long, and we've had no calls for whacks in the face but whistles for over the backs when guys were just fighting for position.

But that is a horseshit call. The defender is up on the ball handler as much as the shooter.

The point isn't consistency, it's making such a fucking cheeky call with 3 seconds left in the game. He didn't tackle him, it was a physical play.
What Johnson did was a foul. Time and score mean nothing to refs. I agree that's a play on, especially given the situation, but NCAA refs are largely oblivious when it comes to that.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Terrible play.

Player has to know how little time is left.
