Got to like our chances against you guys. It was a 3 point game with 10 seconds to go at Wisconsin, with Scottie, DFS, and CWalker out. Hill was also no where near ready then, and our walk-on was playing major minutes.
In a normal year I would agree but your team would be going up against the magical season of white basketball.

Without some threes it would have been a blowout.

Both defenses were very good. Both offenses were so-so, but lack of interior game from MSU was the difference. Front court was a problem all year - lack of depth, rebounding, guards having to foul more, etc. Today it reared its ugly head.
Lack of successful entry passes was really the issue. It was there, MSU's guards just couldn't exploit it.

Donovan has just as many titles as Roy. Therefore he is just as elite. My maths are indisputable.

tbh I think Donovan is probably just as good as Roy even without resorting to oversimplification.

Williams has a longer track record IMO.. Also I'd put Self in the discussion as well..

Good thing I agree with you, except Izzo and Cal are about even.

And talent? Recruiting isn't a part of being a college coach? Oh, okay, guys.
There are mitigating circumstances wrt recruiting.

Funny money

Building a program that stands up over the test of time is a lot more impressive (and indicative of greatness) than building programs but periodically having to escape elsewhere to avoid sanctions

Williams has a longer track record IMO.. Also I'd put Self in the discussion as well..
Donovan, K, Self, Izzo, Pitino, Roy, maybe Cal if I'm feeling dangerous.

Cal has been to 7 of last 9 Elite 8's

next year when we get back there it will be 8 E8's in a decade, not sure how thats only "good"

I hope that UConn wins it for our conference...

My Tigers are never going to win anything ever again. I'm mad, 'cause they're bad... Oh, well! Might as well root for the Huskies. :)

There were few good looks inside. UConn doubled at all the right times.

Guard play is another story. Appling and Trice just didn't handle the pressure very well. So many careless turnovers.

Well as for this next game.. I think both sides are nervous.. But I'm not as much as the other.. Because I'm just not the biggest fan of Beilein.. If he loses that might persuade him to focus a little more on defense and recruiting more front line players which I'm all for..

No.. I would have put it as possible if they won it all.. Will Izzo start going after 1 and dones like Coach K has recently?

Izzo went after Jabari really hard. Would've been a ridiculous team had they nabbed him.

Florida was apparently right there with MSU for Jabrai as well, although it wasn't anywhere near as publicized. We were also close to getting Randle. Also had a center get suspended for the year, and Chris Walker starting in December never allowed him to really integrate himself into the team. Crazy to think our team could have been a lot better.

Michigan/Kentucky entertaining contrast so far. I doubt they'll exceed how tremendous the 93 Final Four game was between the programs, but this is fun so far.

I'm still dumbfounded that UConn is in the F4. IU lost to them by 1 in the non conference, that team didn't impress me at all outside of Napier and Boatright's ability to get their own shot. Never in a million years would've thought F4.

Then UConn is down 3 to St. Joe's in the first game, looking like they're gonna lose w/ under a min to go, and that freshman Amida Brimah makes that 3 pt play.

This was not a MSU on the level of 99-01, or 05, or even 09, but for them to lose to 7 seeded UConn is the first time I can clearly remember Izzo getting beaten by a less talented team deep in the tournament.

UConn's perimeter defense was tenacious, but still thought msu would find a way to win. I 've never been an Appling fan game wise as a point guard, he never had the vision for that spot, but no question his wrist injury limited an already limited player.

No excuses though, UConn absolutely deserved it. Be disappointing if Izzo goes to the Pistons.
