It is a shame that those Witcher 3 shots just look abysmal thanks to the awful compression technique that Sony introduces. The game just looks so much better in motion.

I think it's not all because of the compression. If you watch these screenshots on your PC screen, the colors and the contrast of the image are less impressive than on a good TV screen.
I see it when I post screenshots from my PS Vita to Neogaf. It's quite better on PS Vita because of the OLED screen, not because of the compression.

They look better on your Vita because the screen is tiny and the smaller the screen, the harder it is to see compression in an image. I look at this thread on a 42 in Panasonic plasma that is perfectly calibrated in terms of colors and contrast and the compression is super frustrating and ruins so many perfectly good shots. Sony needs to add the uncompressed option like yesterday.

Of course it is going to look better on a smaller screen. They look absolutely great on my iPad but once I move towards a bigger screen those shots just hurt my eyes thanks to the compression.

It is not something that should be present this day and age but Sony just refuses to do anything about it.

Borderlands PS4 looks really sharp and clean. Love it, I hope it drops its price quickly, I bought TPS on day one on PS3, and have 2 on both Ps3 and Vita, so I don't want to spend too much on the Handsome Collection, but damn, I want it.
