If anyone could tell me how to disable the helmet effects (black border on the screen), you'd make me a happy person :)

Far Cry 4 maybe, but definitely not Ryse. At least not on console anyway. Infamous: SS has a much sharper and cleaner IQ in my experience.
I don't know, Far Cry 4 looks good IQ-wise for a console game, but the ghosting on foliage/trees is way more annoying to me than any temporal/sub-pixel aliasing that the AA in Second Son misses, especially because your screen is full of trees/grass EVERYWHERE in Far Cry 4, so it's a constant thing you are seeing. And it ends up making the overall image softer. Ryse is hurt because it's 900p to start with, so it's hard and a bit unfair to compare it to 1080p titles.

Infamous' AA still impresses me though. It looks so good in motion, arguably better than it does in stills (and in stills it often looks good enough you could almost pass them off for bullshots). It gets rid of nearly all aliasing while retaining great sharpness and the only real negative being ghosting on particles that is minimized due to the infrequency of seeing them. The visuals of that game overall still just impress the hell out of me, thanks to the marriage of the tech and the art direction.

Editing my edit

Was right the first time, definitely PS4. But why did you save it as a png?

(Thought it was PS4 due to IQ and artefacts, then though maybe I was wrong when you posted since it is a png, but the filename is not what the XB1 calls it so...)
Makes sense. It's a mix of PS4 and XB1, the first two are PS4 and the third is a XB1 shot. Both captured with an Elgato HD60 hence the compression ;)

That way I've got more control over the frame I want, but the HD60 is shit when it comes to quality on fast moving screens. Never again will I buy Elgato.

Hahahahaha Holy shit, I stared at the 3rd image with the other two and was like, what the hell is going on? There is a very slight difference between the two systems and I was questioning if there was any.

Maaaan, capture card makes a whole lot of sense now haha

This is why I only go for internal capture cards, they don't compress even in motion.

I thought you had an external card, Avermedia U3? Or am I confusing you with another Gaffer?
You have me confused, I only use internal cards. HolyFridge uses the Avermedia U3 and it seems to be really good from the pics I've seen of it.

that might be due to the prevalence of The Order shots and the film grain look

edit: scrolling up, maybe not

Yeah, I already know why The Order looks worse, but I'm talking about shots like the ones from Infamous, the edges look rather soft despite the game being 1080p. The Killzone shots manage to look sharp though, somehow.
