They should've outsourced to Insomniac Games. Ratchet and Clank on PS4 is an example of what those guys and gals can do on consoles.

Looks the same to me. The temporal AA in motion cleans up the game quite nicely. Notice the guard rails.

Did anyone ever find proof they altered the IQ? Almost every update people seem to think they did but comparisons show that they haven't upgraded it at all.

Why? It's a yearly thread. There wasn't a new thread when the XB1 recieved a screenshot function, it was welcomed as an addition to the existing thread. I don't see why PS4 3.0 firmware should be seen as anything different. And there have been .PNG shots posted from PS4 games since the beginning of this thread, and even in the previous thread.

I do think people should label PNGs as such. At least in the beginning to make it easier to search for.
I've been enjoying seeing the PNGs here and it's revitalized my own screenshot interest.
I should post a few sometime.
I don't think it will be necessary. As soon as the update launches the vast majority of people that post in here will probably switch to PNGs. I expect jpegs to be the exception.

You're looking at PNG's, which is why it looks sharper and more detailed now. The Share button JPEG's do the game no favours. I think as a result of them, people assumed the game was blurrier than it actually was.
Amazing how much better the IQ seems on Ryse than Forza 6 which is native.

AA is clearly much better in Ryse but that looks like a pre rendered scene with low contrast so it's extra soft and artefacty.
Really lol? That Ryse screen may be cleaner, but there's compression artifacting and softness/blur galore. None of the textures or intricacies on Macrus' armour, the floor etc are pretty clear or detailed. IQ covers more than just the level of anti aliasing.

Yeah, I'm so glad it's finally getting addressed, there's a lot of shots I set up in Driveclub which totally got destroyed by the compression that I won't be able to get again. I have a plugin tool which removes compression lossy artefacts in photoshop as best as possible (example below), but its no replacement for a lossless PNG and not so great in dark scenes and it also introduces some colour/white balance issues, so I don't often use it. I probably need to tweak setting more really.
