How many shirts will Phil Spencer wear?

Some good, most alright. I love Gears so closing with that helped. BC is a non-factor for me as a 360 owner last gen. Not an exciting feature. HoloLens looks great on stage. The home is a completely different animal though and I don't like Minecraft. I expected more gameplay from Phil's pre-E3 comments so that was a letdown. Though, Gears is back.

Was watching this conference to sell me on a Xbox One and I wasn't impressed. Sea of Thieves and Re-encore were the only games that really interested me.

6/10

The strategy was clear:

Getting Xbox 360 players to join in as a strategy to increase their market size. BC is very good for that.

Not seeing Call of Duty was so refreshing.

But man alive, the gameplay reveals of both Tomb Raider and particularly Gears were very underwhelming.

Yep will probably do very well in NA.

You could definitely feel the pain of not having the big three titles they're showing at Gamescom. Started out great, then just kind of sputtered. Really surprised given how solid MS conferences usually are.

Really solid well put together conference. No fluff or draggy points. 360 Backwards compatibility got a HOLY SHIT outa me, same with Fallout mods. Pro Controller looked nice, Inafune game surprised me, a lot of those indies looked neat, always ready for more souls games, I actually kinda want to try the Rare co-op pirate game and I'll get that collection I'm sure.

Tomb Raider walkthrough was awful and Gears walkthrough was meh (maybe bad level choices) but I was never much a fan of those games anyways. VR AR zzzzzzzz zoned out for all that.

Just joined the party late and only got the last half hour or so, but man, after the Bethesda conference this one made me want to fall asleep. The sloooow talking-down-to-five-year-olds voices speaking platitudes about experiences and endless possibilities didn't help.

But the capper: Gears 4 had not one iota of excitement to it. Long walks with the backgrounds falling apart and tapping Y to see cinematic moments. Then, when the action finally starts its lambent-esque hit-the-glowy-spot enemies again.

I think I need to find some Halo Guardians footage to cheer up.

Well executed without too much bullshit and clear on what's exclusive etc. They just have no franchises that interest me and Cuphead was clearly my favourite game.

Shit, no finale!

Lots of smoke, not much fire. I feel safe not owning an XBO for another year.

Well, let's see Scalebound before I make any rash decisions.

As someone with a PS4 and a PC, they did nothing to sell me an xbone.

100 old 360 games and gears of war ain't gonna cut it.

Pretty much. At least for now.

Recore might be cool, but who knows...

Tomb Raider looks good, but I'll just wait for the PC version as they all but confirmed it for next year.

They blew their load early. EA came in and it just went downhill from there.

That new controller is cool. BC is nice.

Overall a C.

I'll be at work for Sony's conference. :'(

No pricecut? They really didn't sell me on an Xbox One.

I will say that the controller, aside from the weird d-pad, looked really cool, as did cuphead. Those were the highlights.

Let's see...

+ Backwards compatability
+ Rare Pirate game
+ Gears 4
+ Cuphead
- Indies
- Everyone getting pinned down
- "I want a game that isn't a game"

I give it a 6/10.

Besides BC, no real wow factor for me. Gears 4 was obviously my highlight, the Rare Collection is nice, but it's not a must get sorta thing for me. The Indies REALLY dragged the show down for me. It was just super artsy thing one after another and I couldn't care. I also didn't care for the hyperbole of "biggest" "most amibitious" "greatest" and the like either.

Started really high, ended on a bit of a damp fart.

All the big demos were really shit though. Halo 5 got okay, but Tomb Raider and Gears were fucking awful.

Solid 8/10 for that backwards compatibility.

7/10. Better than either Sony or Microsoft's conference last year. Mods & backwards compatibility are both pretty big news.

Needed a lot more gameplay, though.

Conference was kinda underwhelming. It was like a repeat of last year when they just showed trailer after trailer. Bad thing was that the trailers weren't even good. They were all CGI and where were the gameplay demos?

:/

I was hoping for more reasons to buy an Xbox One. Only thing that got me was the Rare Collection.
Everything else was scripted scenes or CGI.
Cuphead was cool though.

-Cuphead made a great showing
-Recore is interesting based on pedigree alone
-Backward compatibility
-Fallout 4 Mod Support (likely not exclusive since it wasn't touted "only on Xbox"

Strong start. Died quick. Worst conference finish in a long time.

I liked the unveiling of BC as it's a good feature to bring existing users to the new console.
Another interesting thing was to present the new controller that fixes the old ones shortcomings. Not that it was bad but updating to match Dualshock and top it wih some nice new features.

Perfect timing for the press event as I was on the bus on a 2+ hour trip. Can't believe this startd when we left the bus stop. No need for Netflix

Pretty boring overall for me. Dark Souls, mods, and backwards compatibility looked interesting. Couldn't have cared less about anything else. Started playing that Fallout mobile game towards the end. Cuphead looked cool though.

Standard MS fair

Tons of CG
Too action packed gameplay. The events shown in tomb raider are absurd
Loved the change of pace with indies so it's not all snooty shooty bang bang
Don't want the online pirate rare game.
Good price for rare collection

Want more detIls on BC. What is being downloaded?

Pretty great show; backwards compatibility, new controller, early access, VR/AR, cool indies and some great looking exclusives. That was my favorite MS conference in a long time.

Didin't enjoy this conference, the tomb raider and Gears 4 were just tech demos at best... and they didn't give a megaton... 5/10 this conference.
