Yeah personally I would've liked something like best story/narrative over say best UI, but I guess it is just reusing the same list as previous years.

My votes. Finally a GOTY list where all my top games are eligible!

Best action game was the most difficult vote to place. I had 4 different games in mind; Black Myth Wukong, Stellar Blade, Shadow of the Erdtree, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
Eventually settled for Black Myth even though I think it has plenty of issues; too many invisible walls, too much focus on bosses, among other things.

Yeah we're pretty great. There's only a couple of winners on the list that really bother me. Like MGS3 makes perfect sense but MGS4 is much harder to swallow.

2008's choice was especially crazy considering the runners up. Most of them are classics now: Fallout 3, GTAIV, Brawl, L4D, etc. Even stuff like Bioshock was relegated to FIFTH place in FPS of the year.
