No doubt. I'm 46, been on GAF since the start and the internet was so much better back then. Surprisingly GAF is still readable today... not sure how you did it but this place is still my default. Funny side story, I failed a major test in college because I was too busy console warring on GAF in the PC lab and blew past my class.

Resetera is too dumb to realize that they are not the Majority and can't figure out why games like Cyberpunk and Hogwarts Legacy are successful. It's kind of funny, actually, and sad. Every person I know who plays games just wants good games with no bullshit agenda. Hopefully, more of these publishers start taking a cue from Toyota, Ford, Lowes, John Deere, etc., and drop DEI. It is just smart business.

Yeah, normalcy seems to be coming back to some degree. We are definitely in a pendulum shift and it's not limited to GAF. You can see it when you look at the wider internet.
From my perspective, GAF had a big influence on gaming culture years back and that influence transferred over to ResetEra, which had a negative impact on gaming. People became weirdly radicalized. Over the years Era has been losing 'normal' people due to the sites radical nature. I think we're at a point where Era's influence on gaming is waning. Anecdotally, I'm seeing a lot of old-timers posting more these days. GAF is kinda feeling like its old self, which is awesome.

Now we simply need to double down on our youtubers and our ridicule while they still don't appreciate our ambitions. We are taking this gaming industry back and those not on board will be sold to Tencent for pennies on the dollar. We gonna do it by voting with our wallets. Concord going offline was like Spider-Man realizing he no longer needed glasses. We got the zeitgeist bros. Even Pachter seems to see this, as he apparently gave us credit for tanking Outlaws by calling it a rare incel victory.
To prove who is in the majority let's see how many copies Fairgame$ sells.
What do we want? Beautiful character models designed to look good, not like homeless fat woman with do do in hair.

I dunno, the poll as a valid sampling of gamers seems pretty legit. What else on GAF has ANYWHERE NEAR 95% agreement? Hell, I could post a pic of an ABSOLUTE SMOKE SHOW like Sydney Sweeny in lingerie and more than 5% will say "2/10, sharp knees, would not bang"! That kind of nigh unanimous voting is very telling and TPTB should be paying attention, especially when it is backed by sales data.

Citing a single site for any sort of concensus like this is a fools errand in the first place.
Gaming is itself an incredibly diverse interest, and the GAF userbase certainly doesn't represent all or even most of it.
The FGC or fighting game community for example, has almost no presence here.

There is some hope left after all that normalcy will return. I can imagine the meltdowns and screeching going on over at Resetera upon seeing this. Those lunatics all need to be institutionalized.
We'll see. Wicked will be a second attempt to sell a musical, if it gets rejected then was Joker 2 dumped because it was a musical as well or more the message? Then comes Cap America 4, which is a MASSIVELY budgeted gamble. If audiences reject it, or are just apathetic towards it, then I think the MCU, Disney, and the industry at large is really gonna have to rethink how they operate. Was DP3 a last gasp or breathing in new life? Pixar at least seems like it has begun course correction. I expect Moana 2 to hit every beat the first one did and she isn't gonna be making moon eyes at some think thighed island girl or anything (even with a boy, I don't think they will bring up a partner for her at all).
Games are waaaaay slower to pivot but I bet lots of character designs are getting revamped if possible. Bump the cup sizes up, tuck in the waistline, slim down the jawline, go back to pony tails and curls instead of shaved heads and buzzcuts. The actual plots and character interactions are secondary to the atrocious visual design.

I think Baldur's Gate 3 is the perfect example of character design. Everyone is a smokeshow but it's also inclusive. I mean, what's not to love. I think BG3 changed the industry and the games we are getting today just didn't have time to change yet.
Everyone wants realistic smokeshow characters now. Capcom knows it. Atlus knows it. Larian knows it and fucking Sony knows it now too, so it's just a matter of time until all of our Peters meet their Parkers.
Every Peter needs a Parker so we need inclusion so the weird Peters aren't left out.
Hell, throw the main character of Dustborne in a bikini and you got a stew going. We can turn this industry around one Peter Parker at a time!

That graph is very reminiscent as to how sales are going to inclusive games. Cater to the minority and your sales will follow. They should use that to forecast sales numbers.
