This is how season 8 should've played out from the beginning with Renee being killed and Jack going rogue and crazy and shit uncovering the conspiracy. Now we're only left with a few more episodes of crazy Jack.

That would have been a lot easier to do if they knew it was the last season going in. They don't really have to worry with getting themselves out of this mess next year.
 
Whilst I agree that the second half of the season was better than the first, I truly feel that 24 is a terrible show now. It wasn't always so formulaic. You know when the twists are coming up. Every season they have 1 or more moles at CTU and in the government. I only watched this season because I had a feeling it would be the last. 24 stopped being good when David Palmer left.
 
Finally, someone takes a taxi in this NYC centric season. Geez, only took 21 eps.

edit: actually, forgot Renee/Jack got carried in one.

Jack should have told the guy to upload it on the internet first since he already had it anyways. What better way is there than to spread it around before giving it to the press.
 
Meanwhile Kim is back in LA just sitting around with her hubby and daughter in peace and quiet waiting.

And foolish Pillar. Thinking Jack would walk straight into a trap. He got out of another trap (the "Apprehend Dana" operation) just a few hours ago :)
