Good choice.

I'm in a way happy that 24 is ending - I'll finally be able to get a complete selection, and I'll get my sleep on monday nights back instead of waiting up to 3am for each episode.

Stupid question here:

Was that phonecall going to Logans voicemail supposed to be a surprise to Jack and us or just Jack? Ive only been casually watching and am finding it a little difficult to follow all of this gibberish they have going on right now.

To just Jack. We know Logan's been involved since mid-season - jack doesn't. And because of the history between them in Season 5, this is a big fucking thing. If you haven't seen that Season, then I'd firstly understand why you're confused, and also I'd tell you to gtfo and watch it now. Noooowww.

And gibberish? Eh? Jack's out for revenge, russian guys are bad, logan's in trouble. Simple.

Awesome episode but I find it hard to believe that
Logan would use his own cell phone to call an assassin
.

I find it hard to believe that he supplied terrorists with nerve gas, and let them come onto US soil with it, as well as giving the go-ahead for attacking the Russian president's motorcade in Season 5. But he did it anyway.

Case in point: guy's a nutter.

You've reached the terrorist hotline.

If you know the nationality of the madman you'd like to reach, please press 1.

I was kind of down on this season, especially the first half or so, but the newly minted Jack Bauer Rage Hour is kicking all sorts of ass. So good.

Best 24 torture scene ever, and Logan is ever so fucked now. :lol

I'm really starting to love this season.

I think Jack's torture in Season 2 is superior - he got tasered, blowtorched, stabbed, ammonic fluid poured into his wounds, and even died before coming back to life and kicking ass as Naked Bauer.

A couple of questions:

1) How did they find out Freddie was working with Jack again? I was under the impression they thought he was being held hostage, I can't remember what tipped them off.

2) Are vents really large enough for someone to hide in like that? Or was this guy a really tiny assassin?

3) How did Jack know the tiny assassin was going to hide in the vents? It seemed like a pretty random place for someone to snipe from and even more random for Jack to expect a sniper there.

Anyways, great episode. I love that Jack is on the warpath, and now that Jack knows Logan is involved, I can't wait to see what's going to happen.

Great episode again. The torture was truly horrific and paints Jack in a disgusting light. I love that there is no real hero to root for in all this, aside from Chloe and her pursuit to stop Jack from further going down the path he is. He has no "ticking time bomb" scenario or "only lead" justification for his actions at this point. He is merely in it for himself.

I can't wait for whatever Chloe and Jack scenes come up in the final episodes. Hopefully she
finally professes her love for him. :P

OMFG at Logan lining up his ties. :lol I couldn't love to hate him any more right now. Itzin is fucking amazing. Can't wait to see whatever delusional garbage comes pouring out of his mouth when Jack inevitably confronts him.

1. At first, he was openly in favour of Jack's actions - until he realised what happened with Dana. In the interrogation scene with Reed, he showed that he supported Jack's theory - it was obvious he wasn't being forced to co-operate.

2. Considering Michael Madsen was able to stand up in the vent behind Pavel, I'm guessing it's a big air vent.

3. Madsen was out scouting for any hostiles upstairs, and Bauer took the floor.

For the first question, he was already in handcuffs when the episode started. I was just curious why. He admitted to siding with Jack later in the episode but he was a prisoner from the beginning. I'm sure it was explained I just can't remember.

For the others, I was partially joking. A vent just seems like a strange place to snipe from and it seems even more ridiculous to expect someone to snipe from there (of all places in a crowded mall...).

heh

bear in mind, the start of each episode takes into account the time used for the 'previously on 24' segment.

3. Jack figured that the assassins would need a clear line of sight; a high vantage point would certainly help.
And it's much "easier" and cleaner than walking up to someone and shooting them in the face with witnesses around.

I got a Bourne Ultimatum vibe from the beginning of the episode:

- Both Bauer and Bourne on the run, contacting a reporter from the news to uncover a conspiracy in the government.

-Sniper Wolfman in last night's episode was using a sniper rifle while look through the blinds, just like the asset in Waterloo scene in Ultimatum.

The only difference is that sniper Wolfman didn't kill the reporter.

BTW, next week's episode looks to be the best since S5 (hopefully) . The preview definately reminded me of S4 when Jack
robbed the gas station
.

24 has been off the charts awesome for the last 2 months or so (despite the cheesy let's open a secret Sprint network! bit last night). It's terrible the ratings are lower than ever because people are seriously missing out.

Oh my god this needs to be used all the time. The new Shockey what gif/Xzbit at first I was like then I was like response.

This isn't speculation because it was pretty easy to figure it out in 2 different scenes. The fuckin Russian President is on his way to the UN...the same president Logan didn't care if he lived or died in that attack in S5.

Ultimate revenge would be Jack snitching about that attack from S5 then the Russians taking Logan into their prison for the rest of his life. The pres wouldn't try to stop it either.

Just an idea that came up when I saw that Fox News bit. He's obviously going to be a major part of a storyline if they're going to give him his own tv spot.

That was fucking awesome too. As was the scene where he threatened to pull a guy's stomach out with a half digested towel. :lol

24 is clearly brainwashing me in to thiniing torture is fine on the modern battlefield.

They know Freddie is working with Jack because he took Dana into the bank by himself. If Jack had really kidnapped him and forced him to help, he would have went up to a cop as soon as he entered the bank.

And then punched him in the heart so hard he had a heart attack and died.

Another great episode. It just keeps getting better.

Horrifically brutal torture scene, but again, warpath psycho Jack is the best Jack. Logan will shortly be the unluckiest motherfucker on the face of the Earth.

The final 3 hours-- hard to believe this really is it, for the show anyways-- is going to be off the fucking walls epic.

Just so you know, the Suvarov's are completely unaware of Logan's involvement in the motorcade attack in Season 5. And the vibes I got from last nights episode was that Logan is looking forward to the Russian President arriving, so he can be seen at the top of his game again helping out to keep the peace treaty stable. It's all about his reputation.

but other people know...didn't Martha get Charles to admit all his crimes at the end of S5? Can't remember if he admitted that attack to her..which got recorded..If Jack can get a copy of that recording, Logan will be fucked

Lots of the Higher ups in Washington know what Logan did that day. But since the truth would be SO damaging if fully unvieled (Public unrest, and of course, possible retaliation from Russia), the powers that be buried most of that information, and forced his resignation and put him under house arrest. The public probably was told he was stepping down for health reasons, or just a regular ole crime to cause his impeachment, not the full list of crimes. Doubtful they'd let out the real info of his role in Palmer's death, the Nerve Gas plot, and the attempt on Suvarov's life.

the old bauer is back. yay
flip-flapping Chloe is annoying.

my news caster did a post show comment (which he does every post show)
Dr Bauer has left the building after completing surgery. :lol

That episode OMG!!! I felt the fire coming out of my screen, I could feel Jack's anger. He is like a horror movie monster now, he gave this look during the torture that was almost pure evil. I think there will need to be a moment in the finale where someone needs to bring Jack back from the dark side. That ending was perfect.

What a final half to this season. It's almost all over and we are getting some of the very finest hours of this legendary series. So sad to see it all end.

I dont think that
there will be a movie. I think Jack dies this season and the movie is just a red herring. Jack will tear through everyone responsible ultimately putting him against Chloe. Both realize they HAVE to do what each of them has to (Jack out of revenge, Chloe out of law). So Jack dies, everyone is exposed and all is right with the world. I mean after this there is no more redemption for Mr Bauer.

Plus jack gets all his girlfriends killed.
