Pretty decent episode, I found the previous ones more exciting though.

It seems like they don't show the 24 previews up here on the Canadian channels. Can any other 24 Canuck fans confirm? I tend to stay away from any 24 previews/spoilers anyways, so I'm not missing much.

I wonder where else this show can go as the whole nuclear power meltdown is now averted.

Yeah, they don't show the preview if you watch it on a Canadian channel, which is why I watch it on Fox.

They show it during the next show. What ever is on at 10Pm on CHCH, there will be a 34 commercial.

AMAZING episode. Didnt see the daughter dying. BAUER seemed even more focused this episode, only matched by the episode where he storms the bunker where heller and daughter are. Tony shows flashes of his previously shown brilliance by cracking the wife. Edgars legend grows while Curtis' street rep grows exponentially. It really seeems like a great effort thus far this season

Question about the preview:

What the hell is that big metal thing that appears to be the object of interest?
A nuke? EMP? Why did Jack have to hide behind that object?

About next week's episode:
Was that a emp bomb, or something much more worse?

This episode was great loved every minute of it. I hope this picks up come next week. We've got a lot of speculation on whats gonna happen. Now that we stopped the nuclear meltdown's what could be bigger than that?

Edger ROCKs

Curtis is awesome but now I can't help but be worried about his survival :(. And, yeah, Edgar is the man too!

It's too bad that
Marwan's ploy near the end of the episode (firing the gun up in the offices) was already given away in the previews :/

It's good to see (spoiler from the previews)
Tony back in action ... but it sure sucks for the Driscolls :(

Next episode looks intense!

how mANY episodes are left... hard to imagine what new story arch will develop. Does anyone think audreys husband is totally innocent? he is white after all. It was GREAT to see some Jack bauer torture scenes. And what about this contingency bauer talked about in the car with audrey and husband? I imagine audrey could get in trouble again KIM style, but that really cant be the main focus.

Thirteen I think. Depends on how many episodes are in a season. ;)

22 I think. Two two hour epsidoes, right?

Nah, I think the "two hour episodes" just turned up to be two one-hour episodes back to back.

BTW, what the heck ever happened to Sec. Heller's son? Are they ever going to follow up on that? I wondered if he was
connected to Paul in some way. Unless I'm mistaken, we still don't know how the kidnappers were tipped off about Heller's location.

The son was let go a few episodes back. I think he was one of the casualties of the writers not plotting out the whole season before it begins. All of a sudden, CTU decided that he did not have any good information and he was free to go (and super pissed at dad). Although I do prefer the writers doing something like that as opposed to finding some other dumb reason to keep a character around.

Let's not forget this day is not even half done and the major 'terrorist plot' is dissolved. There are a lot of things that can happen in which past characters play a part.

Yeah I liked that. Not all leads go somewhere, which makes the whole 24 universe a little bit more real.

Indeed.

As any 24 alumn knows, the middle of the season is always the pivot for a new major plot point. And this season was working up perfectly for it using the timeframe of the averted meltdowns. Now we have this new direction: Capturing the dude and averting their "contingency plans", whatever they are. There are more cells in the US and they must be stopped.

Also, there are two characters that are definitely coming back. One SHOULD be coming back very soon.

Michelle and (ex)-president Palmer are coming back IIRC. I think Michelle will be coming back very soon now that Tony's in charge of CTU.

Heh, you're going to be very surprised about what happens in next week's episode. Things are not as they seem.

That's all I am sayin'!

I like the cut of your jibb son!!!

Unfourtinatly it's a new job at a call center where I am 1. still in my reaining class for 3 more weeks, and 2. it's a call center, and I am just a rep right now, dont think I really have that kinda power. On a side note if anyone's intrested my new job is at West Corp.

You cant say just that!!! Wait a minute, how the hell do you know anything about next week? Because I am sure if there was someone involved in the making of 24 on this board there would be people asking you questions in every 24 topic there is, and I have seen em all!

Anyway, dman that was a good episode, and holy hell how can so many of you guys be so callus about Discroll's dughter killing her self!! I mean, Erin is a bitch, but come on!!

Has Curtis been watching Jack Bauer ass-kicking-instructional video's? That was awsome, I love how in 24 the ones in controle internaly still know how to kick ass, first Tony, now Curtis.

To who ever said
looks like they may kill off Jack

Are you fucking stupid? The show would not have a day 5 if that happend.

Hey, I'm secretive!

But there is a fairly steady stream of information that gets leaked out about a weeks episodes in a few locations, and I accidentally tripped over what happens next week. It's actually disappointing because it's a helluva surprise (if true) and I would have liked to be startled by it.

But if you want a hint, according to what I read, let's just say
Tony being temporarily in change of CTU
is not what it seems.

Kick-ass episode!
And that preview from next week! Holy shit!

Is Paul a badguy? I thought I saw him running away like a bad-ass!

Ghost

Chili Con Carnage!
:LOL at the end of that episode, it was almost slapstick it was so poor.

I was hoping Curtis would kick some ass, still waiting for Edgar to get some Sarah luvin' though.

The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
Audrey and Jack are gonna be over I think... before the ep started I told the missus no way Audrey's gonna stay with Jack after she just watched him torture her husband... Jack's gonna get the I've seen an ugly side of you that I can't deal with speech sometime in the near future methinks.

Also. They have to revisit Sec. Heller's son because there is a big question that needs to be answered... how did they know where Heller and Audrey were going to be that day? Audrey hadn't spoken to her husband, so that connection has to be through Heller's son....

I would hate to think that's going to be dropped and not closed.

Curtis kicked ass... he needs to be out in the field with Jack now.... as for the Tony bit... Tony goes from head of CTU, to traitor to the country, to drunken bum, to bailing out jack,
to head of CTU again?
I'm curious to see what's up with that...

:lol at the guy goofing off at work playing solitaire...almost blew jack and curtis' cover!
I knew they had to catch one guy playing games on company time and being nervous about it... it was just too easy an opening to not take advantage of.

It's funny when the head guy was being told by the #2 guy to pretend he was from IT, the missus and I looked at each other and said... he looks NOTHING like somebody from IT and had a good laugh over it.... I'm going to start wearing all black to work and carrying and intense look on my face to see if anybody asks me if I'm ok. ;)

I was thinking the exact same thing. My girlfriend was watching 24 with me and she asked "Is that really how IT guys dress and look in the United States? He looks nothing like IT guys in Japan!"

I was going to try and joke around and answer yes but I couldn't keep a straingt face.

:lol

Edit:

I should however mention there are 2 types of IT guy I've seen in Japan.
Type 1: The guy who works at a progressive company and dresses in the same casual/otaku style most IT guys in the US dress in.
Type 2: The guy who works at a more traditional company and wears a ~$100US or less suit to work every day...

Honestly, I really think that maybe they're toying with the idea of having Jack die this season. They're playing out his luck angle way too much so far.

1.) He saves the SoD, runs out of bullets -- luckily the marines arrive

2.) He's trying to get out of the building and runs out of bullets -- luckily Tony arrives

There's more instances so far in the season. Maybe they're considering it?

Also, I don't think things are going too well for the Audrey/Jack relationship. She's going to go back to her husband after seeing how Jack works.

1.) When Jack saved her and the SoD, they were holding hands fully. Happens when she's walking by him to go to her father and he grabs her.

2.) In the truck when they were going to go view the video footage of the function she attended, she talks to her ex on the phone. When Jack and her hold hands afterwards, they're kind of only holding their fingers.

3.) Yesterday in the truck, she puts her hand on her ex's shoulder.

Too bad if they go this route. It would be nice to see Jack be happy and doing his thing.

I really enjoyed this episode. The music, as mentioned above, was absolutely kickass, and the suicide was handled very well. For the most part, the episode worked.

I'm having trouble buying the "I'm a CTU Agent...who wasn't there two minutes ago" angle though. I mean, I think that it would be easy in the heat of the moment to miss someone, and they DID cover their asses with "Our teams are converging". That way, the guy could have assumed it was someone from another team. At the same time, however, I did enjoy that shot in particular, and the tension built in the last few minutes was spectacular.

I too am interested to see where this goes...they have a shitload of options. Clearly, "Nuclear Threat" is gone...will it be a repeat of Seasons 1 and 2, where once the initial threat is ended all attention goes to figuring out who was behind it? Or will they instead following the Season 3 example of having the first half focus on one mystery (In that case, the Salazars and then the attempts to purchase the virus, melding into stopping the virus)? Or, will they trailblaze completely?

I'm actually more interested in the casting spoilers being tossed around...I was aware of all of them, but where the plot is going I refuse to spoil myself on.

Also...to the producers of 24...I get it. You want us to think that Tony is bad. His little "Turn off all the cameras and microphones" stunt was nothing but a "Tony is EVIL?!" red herring, and that in itself was evil. I like Tony. Don't make him evil. Thanks!

I didnt view that scene as them saying tony is bad. He had to get his point across to the mother that he will get the information from the by any means necessary. She was not helping much before that, so he had to play hardball, just like jack would do in the same situation

Damn. Tony was like, Vic Mackey applying his own interrogation rules, and Curtis was like, the black version of Jason Bourne.
