All I want to say is that this was, IMO, one of the best episodes of the entire season. I felt like last week was horribly disappointing, but this week was outstanding.
Funny, I thought exactly the opposite.

I still like this season much better than 3 and 4 but there are a few things they have to clarify before the end of May:

01. If Bierko is a billionaire, why was coordinating this attacks from within the U.S.? People with money stand back and let their underlings handle the dirty work.

02. If Nathanson (Evil Computer Guy™) and Cummings wanted the sentox out of the country to kill terrorists at their own base (which actually seemed like a half-decent idea before somebody found out about their man messing around with the detonator) than what are Henderson and Logan trying to accomplish by allowing the attacks to occur in LA instead? This was making more sense when it seemed like the VP was demanding martial law to keep people inside, and the terrorists would gas everyone from within their homes. That would make Logan look bad and force him to resign, but that obviously isn't what is going on.

03. If Logan is behind the plot to frame Bauer for killing David Palmer and then have Jack killed, why did he let him operate for the rest of the day? Bauer always gets to the bottom of nefarious schemes.

It's gonna be weird if Cummings and Logan were working towards the same goal, because Cummings wouldn't have confessed his plan to the President if he knew where the orders were coming from to begin with. Great episode, but the plot is kind of muddled at this point.

Agreed.

I actually thought this episode was pretty good until the twist at the end. I mean, Jack slitting that guy's throat was amazing. At least we know now where Palmer got that gun. Could Wayne be the next Black Bauer?

Yeah, all my friends had a split reaction. They either loved this episode or thought it was awful.
To me, last week was just terrible, as Audrey ended up being fine, and really, not much happened other than the explosion. And everyone knew Jack would be fine.
After it was found out that Audrey was on the level, the entire episode just bored me. Tonight's episode just kept me locked in.

One of Henderson's men mentioned how Palmer escaped and also knocked out one of their men, stealing his gun.

One of the guys of the crew that was trying to kill him said(yo Henderson) Wayne knocked out one of them and took his gun.

edit: beaten.

I can't really judge this twist until I see how it plays out in the following episodes -- it could end up making no sense, or there could be some explanations that tie everything together :). I'm wondering if it's possible that Logan is actually still clueless and being played by Henderson or someone else (ZOMBIE NINA).

Metal Gear Bauer (+Palmer) was pretty great, though. Good use of the CQC :D , and messing up the radio enough to disguise his voice.

I'm predicting Aaron gets bumped up to a full role next season.

and i thought this was going to end up the best 24 season... :(

the twist is awesome until you realize the plot holes. i mean come on, logan was always indecisive and weak. even in season 4. that's just LOGAN. was he pretending to be like that his entire life? :lol

we'll see how this plays out in the next few episodes. hopefully we'll get some info on what's going on and not just action.

With Nina they had one episode, but the writers know what they are doing.
See: they already knew that Logan was turning bad:

Maybe...
Logan was the mastermind of Season 4 too, taking out the President to further his career. OMG, THE CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE WHITEHOUSE

Really people, does everything have to be spelled out with your hands held? They didn't have to do that conversation bit for it to be perfectly clear that wayne took out one of the enemies and procured his weapon. Makes plenty sense without that bit, especially after jack mentions that wayne was a marine.

Anyway, good episode. The plot twist is, well, absurd, but it's just 24 as usual really. If you want good writing and internal consistency then watch Deadwood or The Wire or something, 24's all about bauer power. And with Jack vs The United States AND Robocop, you know shit's gonna explode by the end of this. That's all I can hope for ;b

I don't get all the people talking about how little sense it was for Nina to be bad..that was revealed in like the 3rd episode of season 1. Or are those people talking about why didn't Jack put more faith in that and went with her as an ally all season?

I think it was the stuff Nina did that seemed weird for a mole to do. She just seemed too helpful. Though I suppose that was part of the cover.

I think so (although there are still 8 or so episodes left to explain themselves).

:lol

That's what I liked about the episode...it would've been ridiculous if yet another CTU chick that Jack was banging was the traitor. No one could be that unlucky. :lol

Exactly. Plus Henderson's getting close to being in the villian hall of fame with the shit he's pulled off (pwning Jack on mutiple occasions, using Audrey as a distraction, letting his own wife get shot, kiddnapping a child, and God knows what else). That's what it's all about for me...Bauer vs Robocop. Hopefully their final faceoff is one for the ages.

So did Logan order the hit on CTU? Seems pretty risky considering Henderson could have died in the attack. Logan had to be involved with the CTU attack somehow since he planted Lynn on there, who was used to slow CTU down and to give access to the terorrist via his stolen keycard

And this means Chloe's man friend wasn't lying when he said the orders came from the White House. :lol

i have no idea what's going on with this season's plot anymore, but that whole infiltration sequence really makes me wanna play a stealth game. :lol the 24 game seems pretty bad...maybe i'll try syphon filter psp.

You might as well just play Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory, as most of Jack's stealth kills from the past 2 seasons have come from this series. :lol

This is just pointless speculation BUT I'll go ahead and spoiler-tag it anyhow:

I bet Buchanan helps Jack out after the HS people inevitably discover that Audrey and Chloe are feeding intel to Jack. And I bet that Bill gets that Spenser dude that Chloe slept with to help him out. I've always had a feeling we'd see Spenser again...

That was one of the greatest episodes ever last night. I couldn't believe the twist at the end. I didn't see that coming. :D

I'm also one of those people who refuses to watch the previews for the following week. I have found it to be the absolute best thing ever. I have no idea what is gonna happen the following week, because I have seen nothing about it.

Edit: Can someone tell me how people on the first page of this thread already knew what was gonna happen last night? Just curious.

You don't know what you're talking about.
Watch that scene from the beginning of episode 12.
The writers wrote that scene, and made sure that the viewer saw Logan's reaction (watch his tongue and the moment he hears the name Henderson for the first time, brilliant stuff). Itzin did a fantastic job as an actor.

Rewind to last night's commentary:

Just out of curiosity.

Do the homeland security jackholes forget that they were torturing Audrey Raines not an hour ago? Is that something they don't expect her to hold against them?
Good point.

Should we assume that the original CTU from this season tries to get back on track, I think Audrey will use that AGAINST the Homeland Security asshats which may very well hold more weight that that stupid paper she signed, especially when you consider who her father is.

Can I have a real answer? What is it? Is there just one of those websites with 24 info and stuff, like they have for Survivor?

that IS the real answer...check the stats jack...we're never wrong!

I don't understand why you all think Logan's undecisiveness was a ruse just because it turns out he was a bad guy. Can he not be a bad guy and a wuss at the same time? His chastising of Cummings is a plot hole? Of course he would chastise him, what benefit would their be in exposing his involvement?
You guys aren't as smart as you give yourselves credit for.

As for this episode, it was pretty good. It was pretty sad when Bill walked by Audrey on his way out and looked over at her :(

im going to wait to see how this plays out as they do have a lot to explain and wrap up but the whole patriot plot from earlier in the season seemed a lot more interesting....i wish they found a way to go more into that angle.

Wayne Palmer has a higher body count than Curtis :lol

Yeah, Curtis really is everyone's bitch this season. WTF?
Although he did own the hobbit, so that keeps him afloat.

I dunno, the whole thing makes the presidents indecision all day really confusing, does he just want people to think he's a crappy president? I dont see how him looking like an idiot helps him in any way.

It does explain Palmers death though, before he got shot he was looking around trying to portray some emotion or another, i always thought that if it was some huge threat to national security why wasnt he more agitated? Why wasnt he already on the phone to CTU? Looking back on it, it seems he was actually feeling some sympathy for the action the president is taking, his situation was more of a dilema than we had previously thought. Which makes a lot more sense out of the scene.

This gets me everytime :lol :lol :lol

Logan being behind everything makes absolutely no fucking sense. But i'll give 24 the benefit of the doubt and see how they explain it.

Does anyone know where Curtis was this episode or how is he going to be affected by this takeover? Jack, Wayne, Curtis, Bill gonna go out in the field together as outcasts and kick ass?:D

I think they should start a 24 A-Team:

Jack. Curtis. Aaron Pierce. Chase. Chloe as technical support.

When they're in a jam at the end of an episode, the ghost of Edgar guides Chloe to save the day.

Just watched.

From last weeks thread:

"Judging by the begining of this episode "hay guys, I used my PDA to transport us into CTU" I can see the firetrucks pulling up at 10:00:43"

I was right. :lol

Anyway, the episode was decent, until the surprise end.

I was running names through my head. Mike? AARON? MRS LOGANS MOM??? And then

BAM

:O

Lefty said:

He was responsible for transporting Bierko back to CTU and prepping for interrogation. I don't think that there will be any effect on his position, as he's most likely just a field agent now.

Well, at least this probably fills one MAJOR plothole: how the hell Henderson got out of CTU in tip top shape after his nervous system "shutting down." The guy who was supposedly drugging him was probably in on it somehow, since Henderson is tied to the government through Logan. I mean I know he's supposed to be a bad ass and Baeur did come back from the dead, but it still seemed like that happened way too easy.

This also might explain why Logan didn't want Jack to dissapear...to keep tabs on him while he figured out what to do. I'm not sure he really wanted Jack to save the day. Didn't Henderson sell the schematics to that russian chick, who then turned them over to the terrorists? That makes it seem like they wanted the attack to succeed.

The only thing I'm not quite clear on is how the asian chick was allowed to live. If they knew she had this information, why didn't Logan get rid of her earlier? Then again, I guess they needed to squeeze out her "evidence," and thats why he had Hendersin kidnap the daughter. Hopefully they make it clear that she was kidnapped recently (last couple of hours) and that this wasn't over her head all day.

One other thing. President looked genuinely surprised when he heard from the vp that Wayne Palmer had shown up. But Henderson knew that he had arrived when he called the chick...way before the Vice President alerted Logan about Wayne. Maybe he's got some other people in the office working with him
