Two and a half years after the events of 24: Live Another Day, an elite squad of U.S. Army Rangers, led by Sergeant Eric Carter, killed terrorist leader Ibrahim Bin-Khalid. To thwart further attacks, Carter enlists Rebecca Ingram, an ambitious intelligence officer who commanded the operation that killed Bin-Khalid. She has since stepped down from her post as National Director of CTU in order to support her husband, Senator John Donovan, in his campaign for President of the United States.
