Jim's comeback?... Probably not.
"It was initially reported that Cillian Murphy would reprise his role as Jim, but in January 2025 the film's producer Andrew Macdonald confirmed he would not appear, though he remains an executive producer."

28 Years Later was shot back-to-back with "28 Years Later The Bone Temple", so maybe Cillian Murphy might be in the latter one.

"In September 2024, Cillian Murphy was spotted filming in Ennerdale, Cumbria with a crew reportedly attached to the film."

Doesn't mean he turned. Could be nightmare or foreshadow warning to do different if they sustain a path. I have no idea but some directors and teams like this are smarter than average. Gonna give them benefit of doubt.

I didn't realize the first movie was actually shot at 720p with shitty cameras. Releasing it on a better format than dvd will have no benefit.

The poem recited as part of the musical score is still annoying.

I'm still not sold on the general idea for the sequel(s), but I'm glad they're not openly spoiling the main plot so we'll see.

This looks good, BUT, it's also starting to resemble more and more to the Last of Us - something which is pretty much unavoidable in these post apocalyptic zombie/infected movies: survivors trying to...survive, people doing an impossible journey through dangerous, infested lands for X reason, new (dangerous) coo-coo cults, military involvement, communities being attacked either by a horde OR other survivors resulting in a big standoff etc etc - everything feels SO played out at this point with everything being a cliche' that I just don't know...

The fucking The walking dead which lasted for 11 seasons/years and all of its (horrible) spin-offs didn't help things nor did mega vidjya franchises like TLOU since , basically, we've pretty much seen all possible scenarios when it comes to this kind of fiction.

One of my most anticipated movies ever. I'm such a huge fan of this series. I think they're the best of their kind. I trust this will come through.

3rd movie was stuck in limbo for well over a decade and looked like it was never happening and then suddenly we are getting a brand new trilogy all written by Alex Garland and 2 of them directed by Danny Boyle. What a time to be alive.

it was actually all shot at 480p except for the ending which is done with 35mm film. The movie looks terrible on blu ray because of it

There was as brief period of time in the early 2000's where digital cameras weren't good enough to replace the films. But we had some "vanguardist" directors trying to shove it down our throat because 1.it was easy to filme with and 2.DVDs, with its 480p, had barely surpassed the VHS as a format and no one was even thinking in HD resolutions.

Meanwhile Lawrence of the Arabia, from 1962, can be easily remastered in 8k and the only artifacts in the picture were "fingerprints" caused by the chemical reactions in the film while filming in the desert.

I"ll watch it because I've seen the previous ones, but my excitement and anticipation is lukewarm at best. It'll be a pleasant surprise if it's good. Keeping my expectations low.

This thing is out in a few days and not one review :-( Christ I'm hoping it isn't being embargoed due to it being a dud or are they wanting to keep it a surprise for the fans who've waited so long??

Anyways theres a cool rageleaks.net site that gives a few weeks snippets of info on what's transpired which has wetted my appetite for more

I think they are saying nothing till tomorrow evening on reviews, or reactions

Something about spoilers !!!!

Is this really a movie to know nothing about going in ? The trailers seem to not really be hiding anything. Or than a giant zombie (might have been a pro basketball player before 🙄😂)

These days. That sort of ban, or keeping reviews to the last minute. are not normally done to benefit the audience. Or anyone that might pay …..

Surely they didn't fumble the ball with this one ?

Reactions I can get. They generally deserve to be ignored, as the fake positive or paid for 'great' response doesn't help.

I would have even understood with the second movie being like this (think it's out sometime between oct and jan) on the keeping spoilers quote. But a reinvent by the original team, the great trailer reactions. This seems like a misstep

Just watched the original again.

It's such a strange movie. Part laughable and disturbing in equal measure.

I remember the sequel was much more even in tone, but they ditched Boyle's shotgun approach to filmmaking and it lost something in the process.

I really hope this is good.

Damn, totally forgot this was coming, that went quick!

Going to have to be a right Larry no mates for this one (I think I prefer it..)

It was a great film but the power rangers ending was pretty weird.

Don't tell me what you mean, as I think I'll skip the theater on this one and wait to see this one later (I need to see 28 Weeks first anyway), but now I'm fully excepting there to be a leader zombie in a space station orbiting Earth who throws something to the earth and makes a zombie grow to massive size so the protagonists have to hop in their mecha to save the day.

The tonal shift at the very end is some crazy shit. That's all I'll say.

What about the one when they meet the Swedish soldier? Dude's clown from what I've seen in reviews. I consistently hear that the first part with the father teaching his son the ropes on how to survive is the best part of the movie and then the father character disappears for most of the movie.

I liked the part with the soldier. It showed how crazy it was that every other nation just gave up on England. But it's something I feel we would do if something like this did happen to an island nation. I didn't like the retcon of 28 days later, though because it was showing the infected dying of starvation. So how exactly did they survive to 28 years? Now I guess to do a sequel this far forward you have to take liberties, but for me the biggest swerve tonally was the kid from the beginning of the film coming back as some ninja cult leader. But yes, I also disliked that the father was axed for most of the film. I thought he would play a bigger part.
