Jim's comeback?... Probably not.
"It was initially reported that Cillian Murphy would reprise his role as Jim, but in January 2025 the film's producer Andrew Macdonald confirmed he would not appear, though he remains an executive producer."

28 Years Later was shot back-to-back with "28 Years Later The Bone Temple", so maybe Cillian Murphy might be in the latter one.

"In September 2024, Cillian Murphy was spotted filming in Ennerdale, Cumbria with a crew reportedly attached to the film."

Doesn't mean he turned. Could be nightmare or foreshadow warning to do different if they sustain a path. I have no idea but some directors and teams like this are smarter than average. Gonna give them benefit of doubt.

I didn't realize the first movie was actually shot at 720p with shitty cameras. Releasing it on a better format than dvd will have no benefit.

The poem recited as part of the musical score is still annoying.

I'm still not sold on the general idea for the sequel(s), but I'm glad they're not openly spoiling the main plot so we'll see.

This looks good, BUT, it's also starting to resemble more and more to the Last of Us - something which is pretty much unavoidable in these post apocalyptic zombie/infected movies: survivors trying to...survive, people doing an impossible journey through dangerous, infested lands for X reason, new (dangerous) coo-coo cults, military involvement, communities being attacked either by a horde OR other survivors resulting in a big standoff etc etc - everything feels SO played out at this point with everything being a cliche' that I just don't know...

The fucking The walking dead which lasted for 11 seasons/years and all of its (horrible) spin-offs didn't help things nor did mega vidjya franchises like TLOU since , basically, we've pretty much seen all possible scenarios when it comes to this kind of fiction.

One of my most anticipated movies ever. I'm such a huge fan of this series. I think they're the best of their kind. I trust this will come through.

3rd movie was stuck in limbo for well over a decade and looked like it was never happening and then suddenly we are getting a brand new trilogy all written by Alex Garland and 2 of them directed by Danny Boyle. What a time to be alive.

it was actually all shot at 480p except for the ending which is done with 35mm film. The movie looks terrible on blu ray because of it

There was as brief period of time in the early 2000's where digital cameras weren't good enough to replace the films. But we had some "vanguardist" directors trying to shove it down our throat because 1.it was easy to filme with and 2.DVDs, with its 480p, had barely surpassed the VHS as a format and no one was even thinking in HD resolutions.

Meanwhile Lawrence of the Arabia, from 1962, can be easily remastered in 8k and the only artifacts in the picture were "fingerprints" caused by the chemical reactions in the film while filming in the desert.

I"ll watch it because I've seen the previous ones, but my excitement and anticipation is lukewarm at best. It'll be a pleasant surprise if it's good. Keeping my expectations low.
