360 controller - flashing lights

I'm playing Perfect Dark right now and every now and then the ring of light on my controller swiches from lighting up quadrant one to alternating flashes of quadrats 1 & 4 and 2 & 3. What's it mean? Is my battery running low?

Not really. I'm just playind PD0 and don't want to look it up.

But you can take the time to stop playing the game and post on this forum?

Goddamn no wonder people consider VG players to be lazy no life scum...

Well he has a laptop with a wireless card, so he's just sitting on the couch right now. And yeah, Obi is a lazy piece of shit! :D

So you came here asking information about the Xbox 360, a console that probably 99% of us do not own.

You came here to brag. Admit it.

The sucky-player-detector is going off.

Also, going by cartestian coordinates, the numbering pattern for the quads is
1|2
4|3

Edit:
God Dammit. I'm stupid. I'll leave it wrong so I can be ridiculed.

Your CD burning project is done.

It's not even my console. It's my roommate's. He won it in the Every 10 Minutes contest. I know a lot of people here won them in that contest, so I was hoping one of them would know.

So, does anybody have an answer for this yet?
I think it's the low battery indicator. One of my 2 batteries is faulty and won't charge, and I always get this flashing in the middle of the controller. It's not documented anywhere I could see.

charge the batts then press that little button on the back on the controller while it is near your X360 to reset it to work for that console.

I have a different question, that I also RTFM'ed.. when I shut down the system, on my wireless controllers, the 2nd quadrant comes on very dimly.. is it a stanby mode or something?

Hmmm, is your second controller plugged in with a battery pack? If so it means it's charging and the 360 will completely power off when it's charged.

So when the batteries are low the controller turns into a light show? Thats real smart.

:lol i doubt it drains anything. i have a wireless optical mouse that i got 6 months ago that has been sitting at low level laser out and its still not dead yet.

The second wireless controller, my roommates, runs off regular batteries and he pulls the pack out when done. My wireless is recognized as the first controller, and has a batter pack in it.. but it's not connected to the charger when I turn it off, and get that dim 2nd quadrant light
