I don't know... I've never had a problem with him. Maybe you're circle is too big or wide or something...?
Run away in arcs and change directions frequently and be certain you arent using a weapon that changes your walking animation.

I'm trying to figure out whether it'd be possible to craft a
that can be upgraded fully. I know of the google doc with combinations, but can one really (for example) creating a +25 rod combining Dragon and Angel rods with stat increases? Would it just take tons of grinding for chests?

Think I've stumbled across my latest obsession... trying to get every Zombies weapon in every colour!
I`ve just been swapping my 2nd 3DS Mii colors every time I streetpass. Got a couple filled so far...
Any one know how these skills on the rods in Ultimate Angler come to be?
Been trying to find another Big-Catch Boost to level up my current rod to level 3. I can't seem to find another rod with the skill...
Are the skills random with each rod you pull up or do they appear on specific rods?

There appears to be an update 4.1 for StreetPass Mii Plaza. Doesn't look like it adds anything new other than possible minor bug fixes.
Japan got the update earlier though so looks like it finally arrived in the west.
If you're going to update the app, be sure to play the games with the Miis you've recently StreetPassed first.
Also, how do I get a high grade when catching fishes on Ultimate Angler/StreetPass Fishing? Does it depend how big the fish is or how you reel it in?
It's the size of the fish. Combining bait instead of using them one at a time will result in larger catches.
I have 8+ Big Catch Boost Lv.2 on my Demon Rod and I usually catch multiple A / A+ catches every round of streetpasses just by tossing out single baits. I never mix baits unless I'm in a hurry and need to end the round. Mind you I always take out 10 people even if I have to buy them with playcoins. Be nice if I can find the right area to fish in with the proper rod skill to get it to level 3.

Pretty sure you only get in-game gold as a reward for those silver/gold medals in angler (all species A or A+ in a spot). :\ Not meant as something people need to do to get all hats/bubbles, just a thing to possibly eventually hit in like 18 months time. All species is the more fun one, and trying to craft a perfect UFO rod. I have a UFO rod +16 at the moment with coastal big catch boost. Gauge and pulling power maxed out, one extra each in the other two stats. As I get more rods from chests and a few more challeges I can create a new better UFO rod and redump tons of gold in to upgrading it.
The mystery species on the distant islands are the big challenges in this game
. You have a chance of them being spotted when streetpassing others who have the game, but you'll almost definitely need 2-3 of the right kind of bait because these things are harder to reel in than the UFO. Make sure to have a rod with 8 pulling power and a decent gauge.

I'm at 101 medals so should hopefully have them wrapped up in about a week or so...
I've found out you only need 100 to get all Plaza Tickets for the game, so there must be something hidden for bothering to get the last 20.

Any tips on upgrading rods? I've found that in most cases, when I combine rods, they don't get any extra bonus. In other words, the pluses & minuses add up to zero or a negative value. There was one instance when the combined rods was actually a plus but all of the potential combos I looked at didn't really enhance anything.

nah I dont really look at it too scientifically. At this point just looking to combine a +5 two star rod ad a +4 three star rod to make a new +9 UFO rod and then combine that with my current rod. might easily complete everything I need to do in the game and get all the plaza tickets and lose interest before that happens

I always StreetPass, even in this smaller town I moved to. I bought all the StreetPass games so that I can get more Plaza Tickets. I did the update where you get other's birthdays.
Am I missing something?

Really impressed with this...just got a New 3DS yesterday and already have nearly 40 streetpass hits. I remember I had a 3DS when it just came out (was stolen shortly after) and barely got any passes.

I'm playing Ultimate Angler and I have a situation where I have caught the fish a particular challenge calls for on two different occasions and the challenge doesn't complete so I cannot move onto the next area.
The fish is a gigantic carp and it is one of the Silver Ticket islands. I'll update the post as soon as I get to play the level again with the specifics.
Has anyone else seen this?

Particularly, the UFO rod. So far I got my main UFO rod at +15 with Lv.3 8+ Big-Catch Boost ability, a second one at +5, a third at +3 and a fouth ufo rod with no upgrades. Now i just need money to combine them all and then upgrade it to full stats... 
Any one have any effective Money Grinding strategies? I've been grinding fish from the first fishing spot on the Premium Isle for funds and treasures. Seems like its slowly working out...
Make sure you're reading the challenge correctly, a few require a specific fish that's a certain rank like "C or higher" or "D or higher" etc.

The other day I got the final ticket in Flower Town. In the vault it goes! I could go for the remaining flowers and colors... but nah. I've got all I need.

That may have been it, I caught a third giant carp with a B rank and that clear the challenge. Thanks for he heads up.
So I just learned today that if you get a special ticket to fish on the secret islands, you don't keep them :/ I chose to fish on a regular island instead, and the next wave of street passes didn't even show the islands. If you use them when they are around, do the islands get to stay permanently, you do you need to run into those Miis again? I think they mentioned play coins too, but I rushed reading through it.
You need a ticket every time you want to go the island again (although I think once you complete the island you can go back for free), but it doesn't necessarily have to be from the same mii. You can buy a ticket with play coins but I think they cost like 50 coins.
Gotcha. Yeah I just brought in my next wave and saw some islands pop up (was a silver, not gold tocket like before). Will take a bit to fish em' all now! Wish I didn't waste those ticket opportunities before. Ah well, I can always use play coins.
I did manage to beat Warrior's Way the first time! ...and now I can't get medals to tell me that my army is big enough

Just started streetpassing. Question on streetpassing relay. Do I need to use Nintendo zone app to get the relay street passes?

So anyway, I think I've completed Zombies!
I've finished all levels, got all weapons, zombies, rare zombies, plaza tickets and medals.
Oh, what you get for getting all 120 medals.....
There's two things I might work on before Vaulting it:
Zombies Defeated has no completion star. Anybody know if there is one?
I think I'll get it up to 9999 kills just to see what happens.
I'm guessing the showdowns are best for grinding...?
I was also thinking of trying for all weapon colours, but after seeing what the medals prize' was... maybe not.

Congrats! I have no idea how you did it, some of those medals are brutal. I got 100, then got one from the final showdown to make 101 and stopped playing.
IIRC NZone has only been required for a very few exclusive demos and one free home theme in EU only. Most other stuff (special miis, NZone exclusive ACNL content, etc) just requires you to tag the hotspot.
Pink puzzle pieces have no relation to Nintendo Zone, but relays are the easiest place to get them. When you're given the first piece of any puzzle, you have a slim chance to get a pink piece. After that it's a matter of those lucky people who got them spreading them around. When you get a special mii (Reggie, etc) they'll typically have every piece of every puzzle. As a rule you should always try to get a pink piece from someone if that's an option, even if it means leaving another puzzle uncompleted for now.
